My highschool had an annual pinata making contest during the 70′s and 80′s; But we weren’t expected to wear the pinatas, just display them. She’s one toke over the line here.

  3. walsh says:

is it wierd to think the girl is hot?

  4. Meg says:

    not awkward. awesome.

  5. Lucy says:

People get scholarships for making ridiculously hideous garments of clothing out of non-biodegradable materials. Wow. No wonder the world hates america.

    • Militant Bibliophile says:

And how is the view from that peak of moral authority? Seriously, grow up and chill out.

  6. jessica says:

    love it<3

  7. Lizzen says:

    Her shoes = badass

  8. Lily says:

Over the top? Yes. Cool as s***? Hell yeah.

The most awkward thing had to be acknowledging a $500+ credit card bill made out to duct tape.

  9. Laura A says:

if her dress was not too big like that it would look better and I wonder where she got her shoes

  10. alexis bolton says:

i think its awesome….i wanna see all you guys with nasty comments do anything near that complicated and creative!

  11. Elisabeth says:

This is soooooo fake…. but funny!

    • Dee says:

It isn’t fake. Go to Duct Tape’s website and look at all of the photos. I saw them in these clothes, they are very real.

  12. charmy says:

There is such a thing as hot pink and electric blue ductape?!?!?!! How cool is that! That dress must have taken forever to do…You can do so much with the stuff…

Did you know you can even make a dress form out of duct tape. Get a tshirt you don’t care a about, a friend, some duct tape and some scissors…have the friend start wrapping around the t-shirt until your whole body/torso/upper arms are covered…cut in the back, remove, then tape back together, stuff and put on a stand…vuhwala! you have a dress form for sewing clothes and such :)

  13. Jeremy says:

    I think she’s beautiful!

  14. Mandi says:

Call me crazy, but I think this is actually pretty cool. I couldn’t pull off wearing the dress, but she did get a scholarship and a lot of recognition out of it.

  15. graphicartist2k5 says:

why, exactly, was this a good idea?

  16. nikos says:

Thats great, good for you for being so creative and actually doing something instead of being yet another member of the audience, mad props sharon.

  17. Thadd says:

That is the worst photoshop ever.

  18. J@de says:

wo she’s so pretty how on earth did a guy like that get a girl like well that?? the must be cousins or bro and sis?? and as for her dress that must have taken her weeks months even but it’s was worth it.

  19. Scott says:

HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET TO THE PROM IN THAT THING?!

  20. Tim says:

    Now, THAT’s a prom date!!

  21. Tina says:

    Love it, great creativity

  22. Sue says:

As a parent with 3 teens … I need more jobs so that my kids have college money!!! But really, I think that this is awesome and these kids should be proud of their handiwork. To think my kids just rented tuxes and spent $100′s on pretty off the rack dresses!

  23. Chris says:

A couple of things, that guy must have a lot of confidence and panache to snag a girl like that. Beautiful, creative, and obviously confident.

Second, I’m sure that dress cost just as much in duct tape as a prom dress would have, but it’s a story you will never forget.

    They’re both awesome!

  24. Arielle says:

Damn those must have taken forever
    props to them for sure

  25. AR GIRL says:

Hurry up with the darned picture would ya?? I gotta peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  26. EM says:

  28. Jacque says:

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!1 That dress is huge! He won’t need an umbrella if it rians!

  29. beaval says:

Does anyone else think this may be photoshopped? I can tell stuff has been added. Maybe just me but,,,,take a close look.

    • bella says:

that’s what i thought until i started reading the comments…they’re bodies look like they
      were photoshopped in the outfits.

  30. RabbitLiver says:

    The BEST!!… ever…

  31. FunNanc says:

    Yikes.

  32. What in the World? says:

    Wow!

    That’s all I got… ;)

  33. Toni78 says:

I actually like the dress… Quite creative, but the guy’s outfit?

  34. Dummy says:

    she=pretty despite the get up

  35. Lizzy says:

She must have been doing that duct tape prom dress scholarship competition…

  36. Wow! That is some dress! Now I’m reading the comments. Is this thing really duct tape? Cause I didn’t really notice that at first. If so, I can’t imagine how many tedious hours this thing cost!!! It ought to go into some hall of fame or the guiness book of world records for hours spent on a project. I’m not sure I would be that dedicated to a scholarship! :)

Like I mentioned on another duct tape post, I have girls on my site, who’ve done superhero costumes in duct tape on my site. :)

  37. drew says:

i also noticed his cuffs match her dress, as well as his tie

  38. drew says:

whats so awkward about this? just like two normal people having fun and i think its interesting..i like how her shoes match his outfit, it makes it more unique and wild. that girl is hot.

  39. jason lee says:

    Carmen Meranda prom

  40. MelodyOR says:

WOW – they are the best looking two person conga-line I’ve ever seen. The tiger clogs make the ensemble complete. LOVE IT! On second thought – I think the shoes are ZEBRA. Not to be confused with her Z-bra.

  41. MelodyOR says:

WOW – they are the best looking two person conga-line I’ve ever seen. The tiger clogs make the ensemble complete. LOVE IT!

  42. Beau says:

Seriously, my first thought was how “off” the chest was made. I doubt many of the other people, especially the boys, took the time to notice that it was made out of tape.

And then I noticed her shoes match HIS outfit. I mean, if you’re going to go through all the trouble of making a dress like that, how could you screw up the shoes?

Still, I agree that this may be the best parent-approved prom dress I’ve seen in a long long time (outside the aforementioned chest issue) and good for them for winning their scholarships.

  43. Emuflan says:

I feel like most l of the above posters should really have read through the other comments before adding their piece. As much as we all want to know what each and every one of you thinks…no need to be repetitive in your snarky insults…or just plain non-sensical!!! No, it’s not their wedding photo! (What? Is this meant as sarcasm since it is clearly labeled as a prom photo?) Yes, they did win scholarships, it’s a yearly contest that Ductape holds

…AND, P.S. the girl in the picture is READING your snarky comments about the dress she doubtless spent hours making and someone who is potentially either someone she dated or one of her good friends…I know posting online is democratic and all…but have you people no shame! It’s not “just a pic” when the person in it has identified themselves and …blah! Humans!

Props to Glenna for recognizing the awesomeness of testing CREATIVE alternatives to the insane consumerist madness! Good on ya…all three!

    • kbk says:

You are no fun! It’s all in good laughs. Whether ppl repeat themselves or not, I am not going to read through the 100′s of comments to make sure no one has already said what I said, I have a life, and second if she got a scholarship, good for her, still doesn’t mean this pic is not funny! Because it’s hilarious and those outfits are hideous, granted they are made out of duct tape but still, funny none the less.

      • Yvette says:

plus, people post their picture on this site cause they KNOW it looks ridiculous! They are not expecting people to congradulate them.

        • Jameka says:

This is suppose to be a site of humor ur taking it way too personal. If u didnt want n e 1 to laugh and probe at the pic u shouldn’t have posted it.

  44. Mason says:

It looks like when he made the dress he overshot a little more in the boob department!!

  45. grp139 says:

This girl went to my high school!

  46. CBOW says:

We can laugh all we want but she has been on the news with her dress and she received a scholarship for her creativity. She made this herself. It is unique.

    • Rachel says:

I was going to say, if she made this herself, she better have gotten an award!

      • Eeskope says:

Its made out of duct tape.If you no how to use tape you can make anything with it!I do that stuff all the time. What i have to ask is if the guys is made with duct tape?thats skill there.Dresses are easy to make but that looks hard.

        • Dee says:

Yes, his is made of duct tape. They went to my daughter’s school and I know the guy’s mother. She showed me the jacket and not only is it really heavy, but think of the sweat YUCK

  47. Lindsey says:

it’s a Lisa Frank themed prom!

  48. Sara says:

At least the dress was constructed to keep him at a distance!
