  2. Emily says:

Oh homonyms…how you do tell the tale of a 4th grade fail.

  3. JB says:

I wonder if the spelling mistakes were by the author of the e-mail or the awkward righter.

  4. SryiCantHearULemmeTurnDownMyAwesome says:

ooo karma before he even pushed “Send”

  5. whatwereyouthinking says:

The lameness of the site makes him too embarrassed to send the link to his friends? And we are supposed to care? ZZZZZ…I’m sure we’re all losing sleep over that.

  6. Henry says:

OK… Every single one of you have at least ONE grammar mistake, so you all need to take your own medicine and assume the position. NO ONE is perfect, especially not you. EH?

  7. Sarah says:

This is amazing. So freaking funny.

Lacie… not just an apostrophe is missing. Everything is misspelled in the last few lines. So friggin’ hilarious.

  8. hero says:

hmm, think we lost sight of why this crappy email is so hilarious, peoples??
it is so poorly written that you couldn’t begin to dissect the errors…
    haha anyway

  9. Guacyra says:

Well, all I can say is… AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, go back to school, darling!!!! I’ll tell you what’s awkward – your accuracy, I mean, the lack of it… Jesus!!!!!

  10. s-lo says:

Hi, I’m an English teacher in Italy (I’m American) and I’m having a great time using the photos as funny prompts for conversation in more advanced classes and the posts as ways to play “catch the most common native-speaker mistakes”. It’s fantastic – and seriously, we all make mistakes when we type, most of us are such quick typists that we’ve already clicked on “send” before even re-reading the last word.

  11. Dot says:

What a dink. I hope I rote that korecktly. My rightaing ain’t two gud.

  12. Y-Fighter says:

    Your cute what?!

  13. Chris says:

I’m going to take what Mr. Norwegian said as a compliment. “Even you Americans,” he says, as if he would have expected better from us. Makes me kinda proud. Well done the AFP bloggers.

  14. Greg the Buzzkill says:

Bwah hahaha… the comments are better than the email!!!
Is that YOUR real name greg? Don’t you capitalize it?

  15. Robbo says:

Your all criticizing the spelling and grammer, fair enough its crazy, but did no one notice the fabulous use of the metaphor, “over-using it like a hammer”. I had know idea hammers were famed for there over-use, but hey, maybe I just don’t get out enough.

  16. Maggie says:

I think it was perfect that you called his e-mail awkward. That definitely wasn’t overuse. ;)

  17. Mertie says:

What a freak! Perhaps you could learn to spell – or at least use a dictionary/spellcheck BEFORE you decide to make stupid, unwarranted comments!

  18. Angie says:

“Righting”? Please, do not suggest someone work on their writing if you’re going to make such mistakes. Also, this site doesn’t really need to branch out. These photos are indeed awkward and that’s how the site should stay. That’s what we’re all here to see.

  19. rea says:

lol i didnt even realize that the comments people were leaving were actual comments! i thought i t was the awkward part of the post! you people make me laugh everyone correcting everyone! who the hell cares! i cant stand people who think their smarter than someone else!

  20. Lonnie says:

I have to say it: This email is… awkward.
    LOL :)

  21. Amy Misto says:

Greg is actually Marney’s husband. Do you see what I have to put up with?! That is why I’ll NEVER go there for Thanksgiving dinner again…these people drive me BANANAS!!

  22. george~~!! says:

YEAH AWKFAMPHOTOS!! WORK ON YOUR RIGHTING!
    lol lern tu spel
    love this site!!!!!!!!
everytime i visit i piss my pants in laughter! nt rly that would be awkward :P

  23. Tatjanna says:

I can’t believe nobody said it!

Huked on fonics werked fer mee!

  24. Cheryl says:

Reading this was truly painful. Truly. Before one writes someone a nastygram, one should learn to write!

  25. Lsco says:

The atrocious spelling and grammar mistakes are over played. Greg’s not suggesting that he should write it, just that he wishes it to be better. That being said, my favorite bit in this whole letter is the mention of Vice Dos and Don’ts. Has anyone actually read Vice Dos and Don’ts? It is probably the most nonsensical (albeit hilarious) series of photo/comments ever written. There is no rhyme or reason as to who is a “do” and who is a “don’t”. I agree that the commentary is hysterical but certainly would fall under the “awkwardly broad” category. Greg: you want this site to be MORE like that?

  26. Alex says:

    Ha Ha Ha

    Can’t even spell

to the person who wrote this email

(if there is any mistakes i am sorry)

  27. Jenny says:

I agree with Greg. This site does provide some funny family photos but most of the are not awkward. I may have seen two actually “awkward” pictures. Maybe you need to re-vamp your site. Kudos for trying.

  28. 007Lemming says:

Idiot! Would you tell Mel Brooks his movies are too cheesy?

  29. Cheeks says:

“Someone” didn’t pay attention in public school.

  30. Thomas says:

See, the point of mocking someone for bad spelling and bad grammar is that it often happens when these people are criticizing people for….wait for it…bad spelling and grammar. It’s like Republicans who promote “family values” who then go off to Argentina to visit their mistress, or write nasty e-mails to pages. Or wear diapers for their prostitutes, or divorce their wives on their death beds, or…well, you see what I mean.

(Oh, sweet Jeebus please make sure I spelled everything correctly.)

  31. Vegina says:

…if we’re gonna talk about “it’s”…if you want to say “it is nice out today”, you say “it’s”. If you’re saying “the cat’s heavy wool sweater”, you say “its heavy wool sweater”.

    –With Love, Vegina Heurtz.

  32. SW says:

Apparently, there are intelligent kids reading this webiste being so precise in their language. As such, I’d like to ask if their time wouldn’t be better spent on becoming our next world leaders? Scares me to think that the next generation of leaders will want to be BFF with foreign relations via Twitter.

  33. Susie says:

Eye ain’t got no time four this!

  34. Lolly says:

    These replies are so awkward.

  35. Threethisweek says:

What? Let’s start from the beginning.

  36. Threethisweek says:

Ok really.. let’s take it from the top and go over this again.

  37. satchuralman says:

Wow! The reply postings related to this e-mail could be considered awkward. I had to muster up some courage to even express myself.

  38. Kelly says:

Yeah…you guys need to work on your righting skills :-p

  39. G-dancer says:

I like how this person used big words to make him/her sound smart, but can’t spell! This is greatness!

  40. aj says:

it’s funny, i didn’t even notice the spelling or grammer. i teach kindergarten. maybe i’m just used to it.

  41. Sarah says:

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of nerds and grammar Nazis cried out in terror. I fear something astonishingly grammatically incorrect has happened….

  42. Sarah says:

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of nerds and grammar Nazis cried out in terror. I fear something astonishingly grammatically incorrect has happened…

  43. dem0sthenese says:

yes work on the “RIGHTING” please; awkwardfamilyphotos.com and wordpress. Righting the wrongs with writing or righting, like this enthusiatic emailer, would put you at the “top notch”

  44. Terri says:

    This dude “rites” so beautifully!

  45. Summer says:

Every heard of ’spell check’ Greggy boy? Or laughter, does anybody remember laughter…

  46. LadyVenom says:

Oh Greg, stick to your day job (picking up roadkill in his native Alabama highways) …. the internet isn’t for everyone I guess!

  47. Lalay says:

    Can always find weirdo’s everywhere.

  48. Heidi says:

Just so you know Mr. website creator, I like the captions! I’m thinking my own thing as I look at a picture, and then I finish and read the caption, and I see a new way to look at it. And sometimes the captions do explain the photos a little more.

Also, like another blogger said, Awkward is the perfect way to describe these pictures. They don’t have to actually BE awkward every time because they make me FEEL awkward looking at them lol. Every time I see a photo and think “WT*?!?!” it creates an awkward moment and I feel uncomfortable. Case in point, the boys holding up their ripped mom. Wtf. How did that even happen? I’m uncomfortable thinking of that photo being taken, and I definitely feel awkward looking at it! haha.

Don’t change anything! your site is awesome and I love it!

  49. Ashley says:

    Dear Greg,
I think you probably belong in the “oddity” and not “awkward” category – totally agree with you.
NOT – are you in these pictures or stories? You must be!

  50. Ashley says:

all there is to do at this is just laugh.
