I don’t know, I don’t think this is all that awkward. It’s just a picture of a woman and a boy working out. People always look a little funny when they’re exercising.
This is just odd? For being a bean pole, it’s impressive that kid in the background can put up 135.
HAHA Bean Pole! I haven’t heard that word used since High School. I’m going to bring it back.
Also, why is that kid wearing his pajama pants to work out in?
Sup Buzz Killington whts crackin
HAHAAA
That kid is going to break his wrists.
The kid should totally have a “My mom can kick your ass” T-shirt.
Someone should tell this woman, “Wanda, you don’t inflate medicine balls.”
Yeah this is totally a Crossfit phot and really doesn´t belong on this site. The kid is using bumper plates, and the mom a Dynamex medicine ball – they are big like that. I think it´s an awesome photo of a family working out together and doing Crossfit at that – it´s not for the faint of heart!
Nothing odd about this at all – they’re CrossFitting!
What’s Crossfitting?
Wait, are we sure it’s “cross”-fitting, and not *compound*-fitting?
Crossfitting a strength and conditioning program designed to turn you into the best athlete you can be. It is an extremely high intensity workout out that combines elements of strength training, weightlifting, endurance training, gymnastics, flexibility, etc. Every day is a different workout. It’s not for everyone, but the results are amazing once you buy into it.
i dont give a crap about any of that… HIS PAJAMA PANTS ARE BEYOND AWESOME =]
This picture was taken at my Crossfit Gym! They are an awesome mother and son team! I know the green ones are 10# plates. Think he has an additional 10# metal plates on also. Can’t tell if the bar is a 15# or a 25#. He is a great kid that gives his workout his all. So does his mom. I don’t believe this pic should be on an “awkward” family photo website. There is nothing better than working out and being healthy as a family. And who gives a crap what you wear when you work out. At least he’s not sitting on his butt and playing video games!
I’m not sure anyone really cares what “crossfitting”is…..This poor woman is going to have to wear a diaper the rest of her life!
While pictures of exercise are, indeed, going to be consistantly awkward, and shouldn’t be common on this site. This particluar picture is deserving. I mean, there’s no way she’ll lose any weight if she eats that whole medicine ball.
yes some other photos are trainwrecks, but this?
how is it awkward for a woman to exercise ?!
as for some of these comments:
LOLH8RZ
sexism agism and homophobia: UR DOIN IT RITE
I work out in my PJ’s too!
Crossfit!
p.s. 20 lb med ball for wall balls aren’t for the faint of heart. Go mom!
Is that Billie Jean King?
You can almost smell the effort
BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA!
You know how I know you are awkward?…because you think this photo isn’t awkward.
At my Crossfit the green plates are 10lbs. And that bar looks like its 15lbs. He should learn to roll his writs over at the top the of the press….that will come in handy when the bar is much heavier! Whether the pic is funny or not..I think its great that there is a Crossfit pic on here!
I see a common theme in comments on this site: people seem to think if there is “nothing wrong” (or something “morally good”) with the subject matter, that it is wrong to think its funny. Such people know little of the journey of enlightenment that is ‘awkwardness’.
Relax guys, just cause its ‘awkward’ doesn’t mean its wrong or lame for either of these 2 to be working out. You can laugh and not be a bigot. I love this picture btw, I chortle every time I see it.
is he….YAWNING???
I can’t wait to eat this ball…
Those are certainly not 45 lbs plates… way too narrow…
Clearly none of you can see the fishing line suspending the bar from the ceiling.
Indeed, they are olympic (bumper) plates, looks like 5k + 20k bar (11lb + 45lb = 56lb). From the bumper plates + medicine ball + non stereotypical ages/genders involved, I’m guessing with I’d say 90% certainty this is some kind of Crossfit photo. But still, looks like exercise to me, I don’t get what’s awkard about this. Are you just making fun of the lady’s haircut?
