don’t ever ever let go of her!
i love how the reindeer on his sweater looks like it’s sniffing her hair…
So the guy’s eyes are what’s awkward? Charming… Hey, here’s a thought, let’s make fun of the disabled. That should make yall really cool.
Too Funny!
Laugh all you want but that guy got himself a pretty cute wife and they look very happy together. I bet she’s a real sweetheart too.
Shame on you making fun of two people in a picture. Laugh if you please, but leave it alone. Get a life.
Best picture on site haahha
very nice!
I particularly enjoy how the photographer has ‘set the scene’ to the point where the dad looks like he’s been transported to this alternate icey tundra. Its a kind of chicken/egg scenerio, did they bowl up in winter jumpers and then they were like ‘set 45′ (tundra) or did they ring ahead and say right we’ll be using the tundra backdrop so dress accordingly… But overall I believe this it what true contentment looks light.
This picture made me cry because when I saw this picture I saw the joy and love in the man’s face while everyone else is busy laughing at him. I actually am being honest when I say that I think they are adorable together.
amen to that. who are we to laugh at sumone juss because they are a little diff than us, god made everyone special in one way or another. its juss horrible to laugh at this n im 19 n in college n i dont find this funny at all.
Mike, I agree with your sentiments. But I think you’re going to be “n in college” a LONG time, at least if the graduation requirements include the ability to use spelling, grammar, and punctuation correctly. Would you at least grant God the respect of capitalizing His name if you are going to use His name in chastising others?
I do agree. I kinda felt bad at this being labeled awkward although I’m sure the implication
was that the pose is what’s wrong with it. There is a sense of genuine sincerity in the guys expression. Almost as if I were to cut him off on the road, he’d apologize to me. Lol.
this is the ONLY awkward photo on the whole website
on a serious note, how sweet is that sweater? I honestly would wear that thing out.
looks like a ventriloquist act…
awwww…
..best bit about this picture is shirt collar over the sweater..awesome!
I BELIEVE YOU HAVE MY STAPLER…

He looks like Adam Sandler’s dad Roberto in the Waterboy. haha.
Anyone who has seen ‘Waiting for Guffman’ will know Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy must have a copy of this photo.
I think they look cute.
I think the man’s eyesight is NOT the problem with this photo… those who commented on that, and those who alluded to it are definitely out of line. There are ways to professionally photograph any type of physical difference and make it NOT the focus… and then there are ways, like THIS one, to make it stick out…
There are SO many other things that make this an awkward photo however… the posing one right behind the other, centered in the photo, with the cold way of having him hold her shoulders… Gives the appearance of holding her down instead of showing a connection. The cheesy backdrop used (it matches his sweater, making her look like she doesn’t belong in the photo because she’s the only unmatching thing), also that the backdrop is in focus, so you can see the poor paint job on it. If it was out of focus it wouldn’t look like a child painted it.
And my personal pet peeve – the photographer didn’t even try to minimalize the glare from the studio lights in his glasses. The reflection in the glasses draws the focus to his eyes, which is why it’s the first thing others here have commented on.
I hope this couple didn’t pay a lot to this bad photographer for this portrait.
Agreed. So heavy with Awkward, it has a gravitational field . . . .
Dayna, I couldn’t agree more!
Dayna ,you must work at Olan Mills. Why dissect whats been done wrong? Look at the photo and chuckle,go ahead, its okay, really.
Usually, when people make serious comments on here, I’m like, “Hey, lighten up!” but you are dead on target, Dayna. Well said. This is obviously a very happy couple who love each other. How unfortunate that the photographer didn’t have them seated side by side and not looking at the camera straight on which would definitely have minimized his eye problem.
Well, thank you for all the professional info, but I am in this site to have something to laugh about, not to be lectured about photojournalism. scew off square.
BORAT!
Thats what I thought too! Hahahah!
