Awkward Pose of the Week: The Pile On

the-pile-onawk2

This is for that close-knit group that is so close that they are literally on top of one another. Uncomfortable? Quite the opposite… for they ain’t heavy, they’re my brother and my mother.

Wouldn’t expect any less from a place called Glamour Shots. Thinking about opening a place myself, Awkward Shots, is it taken already? I bet it is.

  2. David says:

Well that is a typical Glamour Shots pose…leopard print…crawling on the ground…

    • KDunn says:

So true!! Years ago I decided to have my pic. made there as a gift for my husbands birthday. They put tons of make up on me, ratted & sprayed my hair and did 3 ‘looks’…. leather… fuzzy sweater… and a huge feathery boa…
You got to look at the proofs right after the sitting…
All I could do was laugh- and with every proof, I would laugh harder until tears were streaming down my face- I looked like a madam in a bordello!
They didn’t appreciate that AT ALL- ha!

  3. blacktarn says:

The face of that boy sais everything…

  4. Matt says:

Let’s just hope that OctoMom doesn’t try this one

  5. Jewelsgrl says:

I call this a Family Sandwich of Love.

  6. TheSpatulaOfLove says:

  7. Jennifer says:

What photographer says “hey kid go lay on top of your sister”

  8. EXCUSE ME…what the hell happened to the Loaded Weapon pic?!?!?

THAT WAS THE BEST ONE!! *cry*

  9. madame ruby says:

WOW!! This might be the most awkward photo on this site. Physically and emotionally.

  10. Desdamona says:

Seriously what happend to Loaded weapon!?!?

  11. Scrotus says:

The girl on the left looks SO happy to have her little brother lying on her back.

  12. Tim says:

The Bonaduces were a very close-knit family as Danny (top left) can attest to…

  13. Nivea says:

I love your site! The photos are very funny! I laughed too!

  14. dandaman606 says:

I feel squished looking at this and not in a good “Hollywood Squares” way.

  15. sara says:

i’ve never seen a family Glamour Shot before…

    • Emy Kate says:

My favorite glamour shot pose (if asked) is the behind the back glance when dressed in a off the shoulder number. Also the holding out the shirt collar pose in contrast to the over large shoulder pads. TImeless.

  16. This word, “glamour”. It doesn’t mean what you think it means.

  17. haha yeah i wouldn’t see this picture and think glamour.

  18. joancrown says:

    Wow.

    Just wow.

  19. case says:

It’s very glamorous… CHEESH! You can’t tell by the animal print scarf belt?? Come on guys…

  20. case says:

It’s hella glamorous… GEEZ… Can’t you tell by the animal print scarf belt?? Come on guys…

  21. blueelm says:

This is… so wrong. It makes me physically uncomfortable just to look at it. Weird and funny.

  22. Jen says:

    open-face famwich.

  23. Jamie says:

    The epitome of awkward!

  24. A says:

    HAhahahahahaha

  25. Sterling says:

why do the two pairs have matching pants? on the left- blue jeans; on the right-leopard print black jeans. Just to add to the awkwardness…

  26. Veggie Kitty says:

I think they misunderstood the meaning of the phrase “bonding time.”

  27. Stephanie says:

It’s really upsetting to see that no one noticed this as being Photo-Shopped. Clearly. Come on. The family took seperate paired pictures, obviously. This only counts as an awkward family photo when you’ve messed around with it, clearly not the point of the site. On a side note, I would totally love to be the receptionist for your Awkward Shots photo place =D

    • Scott says:

You clearly know nothing about photoshop, or photos, if you think that. Stick to your dreams of being a receptionist.

  28. jessie says:

the mom looks like Lavern from Lavern and Shirley

  29. Monica says:

The sisters are gritting their teeth, waiting for the picture to be done so they don’t have to hold hands anymore.

Why is the mom on top of the daughter? Takes a whole new spin to putting her down.

  30. Seriously Distracted says:

The son looks like a younger version of Sam on the photo “Awkward Set Up”

  31. Big Daddy Bull says:

“These are my two girls and my son, Woody”

  32. Pablo says:

    Cute girls :-)

  33. nos says:

hahaha i totally have a picture like this! except it’s two children piled on top of me. hhahahaa i wish i had it i’d post it on here

  34. rachel says:

    haha wow.

  35. Alexandra says:

Gahh, so wrong on SO many levels. O.O

  36. Kristen says:

When my brother and I got pictures taken at Target last year for our parents we asked if we could do a funny picture too and asked if she had any suggestions. This was the same pose she suggested we do. I couldn’t believe it. Needless to say, that wasn’t about to happen! It’s just strange especially when it is immediate family! My brother and I are close and all, but not THAT close!

  37. Sheila says:

This is wrong in soooooo many ways!

  38. Tocsnai says:

One thing I love about this is that someone had to decide which person on the bottom could best take the weight of the mother, as opposed to her son. “Hmm…. Which one of these girls is sturdier?”

When you’re making decisions like that, you *know* it’s a good idea.

  39. JaylBayt says:

    Someone get the compound bow!

  40. Jookie says:

I want to be that dude

  41. Devon says:

jenny… the first kid in history to be totally justified
to tell her mother to get off her back.

  42. Susan says:

Hey, does anyone notice that the background is the same as the “WATCHMAN” in a banana hammock?

  43. Carol says:

Oh yeah, that looks natural! What was the photographer thinking??

  44. Do you think this is the simplest way to make your point?

  45. Micstew says:

    can anyone say, “spam”?

  46. hotoynoodle says:

“spam, spam, spam, spam… you can have eggs and spam, sausage and spam or ham and spam…”

  47. lilchubby says:

Really? I thought your post was exceptionally well written, too! Did you really lose thirty pounds in thirty days? Tremendous! I’d love to hear more about that. As you mentioned…it appears like there is more depth here for later posts. Wow, your avatar sure is cute!

  48. David says:

Anyone thought of spamming them back? :-D

  49. Anna says:

There is nothing NOT funny about this comment.

  50. JaylBayt says:

HER pic is an awkward photo, too!
