The hugeness of this chair means that the couple is nowhere near each other. As we’ve seen from other posts, there’s such a thing as too close, but when you’re trying so hard to lean over the arm of a chair that is two feet wide that you get penguin feet just to stay in the frame, it’s….awkward.
I was reading the comments to see if anyone else recpgnized them! They look totally out of context in this picture. For those who don’t know, it’s a really cool, funky boutique hotel in Atlanta and the chairs look great in the setting. They are in the lobby. The arms are very convenient to sit drinks on in the afternoons when they have Happy Hour!
I wonder if she dressed to match the chair or if it was an accident.
I think the other awkward thing is that she’s posing like she’s in a family photo, leaning toward him, and he’s posing like he’s showing you a new car.
I love this photo. The best part is the fail trying to look somewhat natural and relaxed around that thing. Nothing says “I make this look good” more than having an arm stretched out at 9 o’clock while playing twister with a chair the size of a Honda.
A lot of the pictures on this site, I can kind of see what they were going for. Here, I haven’t a clue. Maybe the stuff isn’t oversized and the two people are just really small. I really don’t know.

I know where that chair is!
It’s Hotel Indigo in Atlanta, GA. Nice hotel, odd furniture in the lobby yes.
was this pic taken in Dallas?? I was at a hotel that had this furniture inside of it…
Tim Burton’s family, right?
is it bad that I kinda want that chair?
Not going to lie, those chairs look awesome.

I’m sorry, I don’t see the chair….oh, THAT chair.
lol!
I want that chair
My problem is that he is so far away from her. Why doesn’t he have his arm around her? Why is he so far away? SO ODD
could he really even GET any closer to her??? i think not.
it kind of looks like they were at a hotel or something, and someone thought, “what an awesome chair!”
i could sure use one of those at work
I LOVE those chairs! They have them at one of my favorite hotels in Dallas, the Hotel Indigo!
Holy crap, that *is* the Hotel Indigo in Atlanta. Hahaha – hilarious!
FEE- FI- FO- FUM!!!!
i feel like it must be a chair made for 2 people, but i’m not sure they would be able to get out once they got in…
oy, and the dress and the cushions!
i totally has an alice and wonderland comment…. THAT WASN’T POSTED
Me too – about an hour after this pic was posted – I think someone at AFP doesn’t appreciate Lewis Carroll.
I think AFP hates me specifically, never posting my comments… BOBBYC***
I bet you can’t get THAT Adirondack chair on sale at Ace Hardware for $29.99 . . .
I didn’t know they were making another Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
A Little ALWAYS finds their way home!
If she’s the Chairwoman.. does that make him a chairholder?
. . . . one cheek sneak. . .

Testing
Looks like it might come to life like the chair on PeeWee’s Playhouse.
the curtain and the plant are kind of huge too……maybe they are on a movie set (honey, i shrunk the people?)…
Room to grow.
why does she match the chair?
hotel indigo in Atlanta!
Damn… I thought I would be the only one to recognize that hotel. lol. How could I forget?!
i was just coming here to say that! i love those chairs.

Land of Giants 1968-1970
Big World, Little People?
I wonder if she dressed to match the chair or if it was an accident.

That observation is spot on!!!

This is like the Giant Land on Super Mario 3 for NES. Maybe it was world 4? Anyway, hilarious.
looks like Alice in Wonderland furniture
Reminds me when Lily Tomlin used to do that character, Ruth Ann. Anyone else remember it?
that’s exactly what i thought of!!!
i made a sandwich….
omg, kindred spirits!
kindred spirits who both have the name wrong….what are the odds? EDITH ann
And that’s the truth…thppbbpptttt…
Reminds me of when Lily Tomlin would do her Edith Ann character on Sesame Street.
I never saw her on Sesame Street, but I remember Edith Ann from Rowen & Martin’s Laugh-In. And that’s the truth thhppppttt!
YES!!
The chairs are normal, the couple are awkardly small.
Ooo, I want it SO BAD! Dinner on one arm, papers or a laptop on the other.
here dharling take a seat and try to…blend
Har! What a great blog you have here. Thanks for making our lives…just so…awkward!
I think this is a great shot
That’s one awkward looking chair. I don’t see that looking normal anywhere.
Super-size popcorn on my right, super-size soda on my left. My dream home theater seat.
I can see there is a matching chair in the background. Who made the same mistake twice?
It’s outdoor furniture, indoors. Is that a new theme?

are ya serious??? I think its really funny! like something from Alice in Wonderland LOL
