The photographer forgot to say “Say Cheese”

  2. MCR says:

Shortly after this picture was taken, Father ordered the Tienanmen massacre 20 years ago today…

  3. Steve says:

Ha ha ha Hans Brix noooooooooooooooo!

  4. PissedChef says:

You know what would just make this picture? White socks.

  5. MST says:

I was gonna write a really funny comment but what’s the point? It’ll only be censored in Korea.

  6. Nam says:

…Cause dictators need awkward photos too!

  7. Christina says:

This is pre-afro, pre-fatty-mcfatfat Kim Jong Il.

Or is that his father, Kim Il Sung?

  8. Señor_Citizen says:

    Puh-leeeeze…
How could anyone not trust this family with nuclear weapons? They appear harmless!
(Now trusting them with compound bows, that’s a different matter altogether…)

  9. Ray says:

    Black suit…black shoes…grey socks…somethings out of place…

    Must be the hair!

  10. Ashley says:

Here is some information on Kim Jong Il’s sister-in-law, Sung Hae Rang.

  11. BigTom says:

    Sing along kids:

    He wears short shorts
Cuz he dares wear short shorts
Kim Jong Un wears short shorts

  12. Nyria says:

Good to know that he makes his family as miserable as he makes everyone else. That’s true communism.

  13. Xtina says:

    Why is that 10-year-old wearing a Pull-Up?

  14. teg says:

The news said Kim Jong-Il’s successor would be the youngest one (now in his mid 20′s). I forget what the story was with the eldest, but the middle one was passed over for being too effeminite… so parents, don’t put pink shirts on your little boys.

  15. Cheryl says:

I can’t believe he thinks his middle son is too effeminate to rule.

  16. Steve says:

And his family was improsoned for 5 years for looking at the “wrong” camera!

  17. Steve says:

Shortly after this picture was taken…..the photographer was executed for not getting his “good side”.

  18. ndmaster says:

can anyone spot the 1/2 smile? or is it a smirk?

  19. -Omawarisan

They are not freakishly big, they are really very tiny. This is why L’il Kim ordered a new standard size of furniture to make him look bigger than he is. In my opinion he went a tad bit over board.

  20. Matt says:

    they be Il’in

  21. Cleaver says:

That is definitely Kim Jong Il. The photographer has a compound bow aimed at him, ensuring quality work.

  22. Lucas says:

    Yes, it´s him.

  23. ed says:

Smile and we drop a nuke on you, we can do it, we swear!

  24. Thomas says:

Since Kim Jong-il is so short, I can imagine he ordered a sofa be built to make him look bigger. And when the power passes on, it will most probably be to his youngest son, the uncomfortable one on the sofa. So it goes.

  25. Julie says:

Well, I think this is proof how happy we would be living under communism.

  26. rwblake says:

LOL, the shoes. He has what a 2 or 3 inch elevator shoe there?

    • Nancy says:

I think you’re right, 2″ heels makes him what? I’d venture to guess 4’9″, but I could be wrong…

  27. SAF says:

So many lines from Team America popped into my head upon viewing this pic. “Can’t you see how busy I am!” seems appropriate.

  28. Tim says:

We sing the People’s Revolution is fine!

  29. Sarahew88 says:

I detect a knowing smirk or the begginings of a grin on the guy in the back on the right.
ANd why isnt his wife on the couch next to him?

  30. K says:

So these will be the next leaders of North Korea? They look about as excited as a family vacation heading to the re-education camps.

  31. fancynancy says:

why is he wearing high heels??? that is too funny

  32. Katie says:

They look like Ele-Va-Tor shoes to me.

  33. B says:

That is a beautiful moment captured and shared. So tender…

  34. Compount-Bowa-Lisous says:

    Where are the compound bows?

  35. Scooby butt says:

How can that father live with himself? He sits there all comfortable with the armrest while poor Little Mister Sunshine is obviously struggling in discomfort to make it through this photo. Putting that aside, why own a chair with one armrest? My arms are tired just looking at this photo.

  36. Bon says:

OMG! I thought the same thing. It is Kim’s clone!!! AHHHH!!!!

  37. sal says:

The kid who likes turtles and his family.

  38. karen a says:

…they seem like a nice family…I wonder what they are up to lately…

  39. A says:

Guys, that’s the next Korean leader you’re looking at (I’m talking about the kid). Now he’s obese and has diabetes. Obesity + diabetes + nuclear weapons => God help us all… :-S

  40. Grainne says:

kji, lookin’ good! is that a future il-dictator i see sitting next to you?

  41. Bri says:

It is illegal to smile in North Korea.

  42. Carlos says:

    The dear leader!

  43. zilld says:

That is L’il Kim, for sure. Check out his left foot–the heel is out of the shoe, like he has a bad blister.

    • RobynS8971 says:

I don’t think the heel is out of the shoe, I think he has lifts in teh shoes, in additional to the Wicked Witch heels.

  44. dean says:

    Say Cheese.

  45. Omawarisan says:

Did the carpenter die before he could finish the couch or are Kim and his family so big that they dwarf normal furniture?

  46. Brigitte says:

    is that Kim Jong Il??

  47. lala says:

There will be no smiling!!!!! Smile, and you will be detained!

  48. glenmichael says:

Nuclear or Nukeward Family if anything. . .

Dig those heels… just like Italy’s Berlusconi.. something about shortness that brings out hair and shoe obsessions?

  49. Mr Butler says:

That looks like the North Korean leader, there on left on the sofa.

  50. Jimbo says:

    Is that Kim Jong-Il?!?

    • Sean says:

Sure looks like it! Right down to the pins the men are wearing indicating that they love the glorious leader. Love the glorious leader!

      • Sean says:

a quick google search gave this caption for the photo:

Dear Leader Kim Jong Il, pictured in 1981 with his eldest son,
top right, sister-in-law and her two children.
