Hey all, This is my boss and his fam. He caught some of us having an AFP break and wanted to see what all the giggling was about. We then encouraged him to send in the Pharaoh picture. He is actually Egyptian and this was in Egypt. Makes it all the better!
this picture was most likely taken at the Pharaonic Village in Cairo. Everyone gets one taken when they go there, and you can choose between different historical periods of Egyptian dress. It’s pricey too…went there recently and when we found out how much it was we were forced to discard our hilarious photo idea. The father in this family is clearly Egyptian…probably brought back his foreign wife and kids for a really cheesy egyptian tourist attraction.
This would be fine if they WERE walking like Egyptians – a daft pose would have made it just about ok. It’s the fact they’re lined up for a serious family portrait in this get-up that makes it awkward….and the poor child at the front is already imagining the horror of his mates seeing this pic!
***Any comments that are offensive to the point of being viciously personal, racist, homophobic, exceedingly profane, violent or too graphic in nature won't be posted. We want to keep this site a friendly place to be awkward. Thanks!***
afp
it looks like they’re all trying to wink, but only the girl’s got it down…
The woman seems rather ankn-st ridden to me..
I’d LOVE to the see the rest of the house. But I’d really love to see them on Halloween….
Funky Tut!
…chorus line…
Born in Arizona
Moved to Babylonia
King Tut!
Say what you will, but I prefer a traditional Christmas!
All the cops in the donut shop say…
way-o, way-o, way-o way-OH!

Ankh if you love your Mummy.
Isis, Isis…Ra Ra Ra
Three people show up at the same pyramid-warming party wearing the exact same outfit. Now, that is awkward.
ten to one, this is taken in Vegas at a casino….like Luxor or Venetian or something.
I love the little boy on the right…he’s really digging the whole thing!
I’m glad awkwardness can be found all around the world.
this must be the dads idea of family fun….
Man, this photo sphinx !
Again, why am I finding these so amusing today? Well done! ^_^
and then they were all buried together with grampa tut.
I actually think they look quite adorable.
Mummy wanted a picture.
this shouldn’t amuse me, but it did!
Also, do the little boys look kind of like A-Rod to anyone else? Is mom a big Yankees fan?
HA!!! Love it!
King Tutan-awkward
Haaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha! LOVE this.
Judging by the looks on Mom’s face, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess this one was Dad’s idea.
Yeah, this is totally dad’s idea.
Why is that little girl wearing lipstick or colored lip gloss? Too young!
I love how the lipstick/lip gloss is what you found awkward!!!
Yeah, it’s the least of her problems here.
{Mom} “He said he wanted to stay close to his roots, but this is a bit much….”
Got a condo made of stone-a (Disco Tut).
Two thumbs up!
hilarious post!
lol I’m sure there was an argument about this
Not a duck, probably a heron.
ANOTHER picture of Jon Lovitz?
i’m starting to appreciate my family a lot more after seeing this site – we never did family portraits.
ZING!
how do you even get to the point of taking a photo like this?
Notice the props are well used? There’s more of these somewhere.
It would be perfect had they remembered to bring their crossbows
Perhaps we could call it…ankh-ward?
you owe me a new keyboard
lol.. did you spit your drink all over yours, too?
This is actually an adorable photo. The kids are really cute! Mom doesn´t seem to keen on playing the role of Cleopatra though.

No really … do mom and the kids know that following Pharoah into a pyramid can never have a good ending?
The 2 oldest kids couldn’t be any happier. But the youngest one feels left out because he didn’t get any cool artifacts to hold.
They look like a gang ready to beat me up.
I never saw this attraction when I was at the pyramids!
i think this means they’re actually Egyptians for real.
That picture was interesting , it is not ridiculous, it is even nice.
Poor little dude didn’t get to hold a trinket. No wonder he’s miserable.
i think its ok. the seem to be egyptian or egyptian-related. so why not?
So it is written….. So let it be done.
Wonder how much they paid to look this awkward? (PS, it’s not a duck. Isn’t it an ibis?)
This would be fine if they WERE walking like Egyptians – a daft pose would have made it just about ok. It’s the fact they’re lined up for a serious family portrait in this get-up that makes it awkward….and the poor child at the front is already imagining the horror of his mates seeing this pic!
The kid riding the duck is living his worst nightmare.
Its not a duck … its an ibis.
Sure it’s an ibis? could be woodpecker.
Its not a ibis… its a compound bow
It’s not a compound bow. could be an eagle.
I’m laughing so hard my collarbones hurt! WOODPECKER! HAHAHAHAHA
i think i got a crown like that with a happy meal once.
Suddenly, the Burger King realizes something is missing.
I remember getting free paper crowns at Burger King they didn’t come with a meal.
The kid in the middle seems to be the only one who isn’t down with the ankh….
I don’t know the girl in the purple looks rather pained even though she is smiling
“down with the ankh” – love it!
It’s interesting he gets a chair while everyone else stands up……
I think it’s because HE’s the Ruler of All Egypt
Mums soooooo not happy lol
Hahaha. The kids are really adorable though. Especially the one in the front who is a bit skeptical.
