Good call on the flip-flop/tie color coordination! Actually, I think this is rather cute and don’t feel like snarking it. It’s weird, but I like this photo.
It’s a common thing in weddings these days for the bride and bridesmaids to wear flip-flops post-ceremony. I was just at a wedding at which the entire bridal party ditched their heels for flip-flops in the limo ride from the wedding to the reception itself. It’s a bit odd, but is just how things work these days.
LOL! And then maybe they can have one of those nude-and-holding-the-belly precious moments for a pre-baby family photo. Or be curled up in the basket together (still nude), Anne Geddes-style.
I’ve also seen sneakers and (ugh) Converse All Stars. What are we supposed to think? “Oh, you’re so punk rock, wearing your Converse with your wedding dress and tux! urask8rboi/grrl fur shure!”
This may be my favorite of your photos. Kudos to them for embracing the crazy. And I mean that in the best possible way. Seriously. Sorta makes me want to have one of these done myself.
Really, as opposed to so many of these that are just plain creepy (which, in this case, I mean in the bad way) and awful (but funny), this is sweet and cute. Yeah, and I think the flip-flops are perfect.
I am a wedding coordinator, and I have to say, this tops most “Hey! Let’s be unique!” photo ideas. I think it’s cute As for the flip flops…most brides have them and provide them for the ladies in their wedding party, so everyone can dance comfortably at the reception. I’ve yet to see them worn at the ceremony though.
I wore flip-flops during my entire wedding ceremony and nobody noticed until I pointed them out (My dress was floor length anyways). They were nice looking white ones, with pearls that matched my dress. I figured it was my day, I might as well be comfortable!
I just wanna know where the photographer found a basket large enough to fit two grown ups….and how did the bride get in there with a giant wedding dress on?
I find her genuine. His, on the other hand he looks like he’s trying to convinve himself.
“Yeah Vince, this was a good idea A GOOD IDEA now give a thumbs up to provie it to yourself. Yes! Oh, look, she’s doing a thumbs up too! That means SHE thinks it’s a good idea! Yay! Getting married was a GOOD IDEA!”

Is she wearing flip-flops?
At Least the flip flops match her new husbands tie. LOL

It’s like some screwed up Alice in Wonderland nightmare.
So far, so good! Its only when it starts to get hot that one must wonder where this hand basket is going exactly..
HA!! Love it!
Are those flip-flops on her feet?!?!?!
Yes, she is definitely wearing flip-flops on her wedding day !

My mom got some plain white tennies and decorated them for my sister to wear at her reception. This was 1998, apparently flips have taken over.
Mmmmm… Thumbelina finally met her match!
Sore feet so flip flops maybe yes but at least take them off for the photos!
Because there’s NOTHING like a photo of the bottom of your bare feet!!
At weddings, you really want to go all out. Flowers, giant baskets… footwear…
A basket that size is the Easter Bunny’s worst nightmare! Plus…Mr. Blackwell rolls over in grave at the sight of flip flops with wedding dress.
This is actually a cute picture and pretty hilarious. They clearly have a sense of humor.
yeah; this is not awkward… they’re just trying to be ironic. it’s a pretty funny picture.
“Honey, what colour are your flip flops going to be?
……perfect, I’ll find a tie so that we match.”
the wedding of two leprechauns
Worst Easter basket ever.
I so want to put them in my office for the moments of doubt…
They don’t look awkward. Just as if they’re having a bit on physically incomfortable fun.
Love her flip flops though.
It puts the lotion in the basket
It put the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again
**comment win!!**
love it!
hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Maybe the couple has a sense of humor but…..wow what was this photographer thinking???
When they have their first child they should have a family portrait in the same basket.
LOL! And then maybe they can have one of those nude-and-holding-the-belly precious moments for a pre-baby family photo. Or be curled up in the basket together (still nude), Anne Geddes-style.
The Anne Geddes idea’s a winner!
I don’t understand everyone’s fixation on the flip-flops; THEY’RE SITTING IN A GIANT BASKET!!!!
so funny!
hahahahahhah
Well sure, if you want to go for the obvious.
LMAO
A basket?!
Hmm. Wedding day. Handbasket. We’re going to hell in a *blank*.
Somewhere in there is a joke.
See if you can keep a straight face when you’re sitting on a pile of last Easter’s Cadbury Creme Eggs. Impossible.
Where are they going and is that considered a HANDBASKET???
Aww this is kinda cute..maybe we cna hope she put the flip flops on after the wedding?
but its a cute picture
I am a photographer and I see flip flops with wedding dresses about 50% of the time. I don’t like it, but they want to be comfortable!
Marti, what’s the percentage on flip flops, wedding dresses and handbaskets?
I’ve also seen sneakers and (ugh) Converse All Stars. What are we supposed to think? “Oh, you’re so punk rock, wearing your Converse with your wedding dress and tux! urask8rboi/grrl fur shure!”
Looks like another cheesy pose staple from the photographer. “I’m telling you, brides LOVE these things!”
If you’ve ever worn wedding shoes (i.e., been the bride or a bridesmaid), you will understand why flip flops are the best choice.
This may be my favorite of your photos. Kudos to them for embracing the crazy. And I mean that in the best possible way. Seriously. Sorta makes me want to have one of these done myself.

Holy Moses!
Moses…basket…hehehe.
I think this is cute! Pity she forgot about her flip-flops…
I like the pic. Kinda cute. Just wish that we weren’t looking at the bottom of their feet.
And they have to be the worst fake smiles ever.
Aw, thanks Mom!!! I always wanted an awkward wedding cake topper in my basket! BEST. EASTER. EVER!!!
OK, all together now: “Do you have the time to listen to them whine…”
Also, note that not only does his tie match the flip-flops…the bouquet does, too. Now THAT’s planning!
Their smiles are uncomfortably awkward…

i’d like to know who else has a handbasket this size. please!
Wedding photo from “Little People Big World”
Her uncomfortable smile is my favorite part of the awkwardness.
I’d fire the photographer for gross negligence – where’s the matching compound bow????
good lord man. have some damn dignity!!!
I am wondering as well where the heck they got a basket that size?? And what made them want to crawl in it and take wedding pics???
Somewhere there’s a baby riding around in the back of a limosine…
oh very clever, you!
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!
It took Jenica 8 months to weave a giant basket but the smiles on their face and their thumbs in the air made it all worth it.
What is going on here? Why do I know all the people in the pictures?
Forced to eject when their hot air balloon becomes a target for compound bow enthusiasts the happy couple make a successful emergency landing.
Maybe they got married Easter weekend? It would be hilarious (and not awkward) if that were the case.
Maybe the bottom of HER flip-flops should have said “Help me!”
I know that weddings can cause some people to be basket cases, but…
HA!!
Is it just me or does the bride look like Geena Davis? I like the flip flops and how they match her flowers and the grooms tie! Great pic!
It’s just you.
