They look so displeased to be having their picture taken. Maybe those chairs are more comfortable than they look? Let’s ask the dude who’s in the picture
It is so hard to find a decent picture with tassels these days. Anyone have these people’s phone number, I have to know where to find such a classy item!
i think that by next year, the kid in the middle will have hit that magic mark – the height of the mantle, which means all three will be wearing ties! good to see he is enjoying his last moments of freedom…
My mom made my siblings and I dress up on Easter and do the egg hunt thing. She even made us have the cheesy baskets. I was doing this the Easter I was engaged and my fiance had to join in the fun! I vowed not to do that to my kids. Our pictures weren’t this painful though!!
LOVE the tassels hanging from the pictures! Classic! The kid in the middle seems to have a bit of a grin that says he’s glad he’s not wearing one of the way too short ties.
I know the guy on the right we work together. Do not use picture to get a job they will never hire you and from here out you will be doing all the running (private joke). Music City 2009
If I beg and beg and beg can we all please vow to make no more compound bow jokes? They are totally ruining the fun of this website. Please? Pretty please??
Honestly, those armchairs are my favorite part of this picture. I can see how a lifetime of sitting in something so obviously uncomfortable could lead to such morose holiday photos.
The annoyed expressions, the too-short ties, the khakis and short sleeved dress shirts, the strange furniture and near-symmetrical decor. I love this photo! Awkward gold! (p.s. I really want one of those chairs!!)
That’s me on the far right. I posted this photo to facebook several years ago as a joke because of how over-the-top ridiculous my brothers and I look in it! I mean come on, that is a quintessential terrible picture…
I’ve taken the picture off facebook since then, but it looks like one of my friends must have saved it and recently submitted it here.
That is totally the right attitude to have when things like this leak. When my grandfather died some years ago, my extremely tall brothers had to wear ties and the same thing happened. Is there such a thing as a big man’s/ tall man’s ties?
So are those chairs more comfortable than they look or did you just rake your fingernails across the armrests when you were forced to sit in them and make nice with guests? We had similar ones in blue, but they were a bit wider and they had little “covers” on the armrests with fringe on it.
Albert and Thomas always had the advantage over young Sparky in the “Annual Living Room Easter Egg Hunt”. So much so, that the event lost it’s excitement with each passing year. That is – until the year that the Easter Bunny finally brought Sparky the compound bow. Mom vowed to hide the eggs better from then on! Too bad Albert will not be able to participate. So sad…
I am not kidding when I say I have one of those chairs. LOL! My mother in law gave it to us over 10 yrs ago. I don’t sit in it but my friends say its comfortable. I so laughed my butt off when I saw those chairs.

Crazy symmetry man says GET ME TWO MORE PICTURES FOR THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT FIREPLACE NOW!!
I like how the lamp behind the guy on the right makes him look like he has on a jauntily placed crown.
Oh man, I can see it now… these guys are gonna get all the fine ladiez out’thea.
hahahahahahahahahahaha….. their faces say EVERYTHING!……
naw. look at them there. they look so happy.

Anyone else thinks those chairs look like gold-crushed-velvet-covered bridge chairs from Star Trek (the original series)?
I don’t know why, but this is the funniest thing I have ever seen..
Alvin and the Chipmunks!!
(Too old of a reference?)
I just LOVE this website!
This one just keeps me laughing.
We had those exact chairs!! Of course that was the late 70′s this picture looks MUCH more recent than that!

The guy on the left wants to click his heels together and say there is no place like this can not be happening.
this one made me snort… perfect!

Obviously not tailor-made outfits they’re wearing…
Those chairs are actually quite confortable but I always felt extremely self-conscious sitting in them.
I love the compound bow remarks, keep ‘em coming.
lmao why do those chairs remind me so much of the chair from pee wee’s play house?
The Jonas Brothers before fame
LOL!!
I so thought that. LOL
A Stanley Kubrick Easter!
Those…………Chairs………….rock.
This is the epitome of an awkward family photo. LOVE it!!!

The freeze-dried, caught in time CHAIRS!!!!!!! And, yes, I can’t get over the pictures hung at Billy Barty level next to one of them.
Honestly, those armchairs are my favorite part of this picture. I can see how a lifetime of sitting in something so obviously uncomfortable could lead to such morose holiday photos.
Someone should poke the one on the left; I think he fell asleep.

I want the other one!
Nothing says Awkward Gold like a gold, crushed velvet chair.
HEY!

Anyway, glad you guys got a kick out of it.

Yes. I am not very tall and bought a long tie accidentally. It seemed to go down to my knees!
So are those chairs more comfortable than they look or did you just rake your fingernails across the armrests when you were forced to sit in them and make nice with guests? We had similar ones in blue, but they were a bit wider and they had little “covers” on the armrests with fringe on it.
wow, this type of thing is the sole reason why i don’t dress up ever. Not even for funerals. I wear t-shirt and dicckies, unto death!
Even when you were knighted, Sir Jorge?
ROFL!
Mark, you are awesome! Your comments on here are even better then these crazy photos.
well played, Mark!
On Easter, Jesus rises from the dead. These guys? Not so much.
LOL that was awesome
I spit coffee at this comment. Please post a warning in the future. As cool as these photos are, the wit found in the comments is brilliant!
Im choking over here Im laughing so damn hard at that comment. Classic!!!

good stuff!
These are my boys! Who posted this? Yes, it really was that awkward and I tied the ties for them. I never was any good at it…
I want to hire whoever did their Easter decorations. Very understated and classy.
on a side note, the boys found it humorous that their ties were 6 inches too short…
The ties- so short!
It was #3, Officer! THAT’S who bit the head off my chocolate Easter bunny!
LOL!
“OK, Number 2 – step forward and turn to your left, please…”
I see the middle one lucked out and didn’t have to wear one of Dad’s ties.
anyone noticed the furry thing between the legs of the guy in the middle?
a dog? a (easter-)bunny? a rat?
an ewok?
could be a gremlin
If you draw a conecting from left to right on top of their heads, it makes the shape of a compound bow.
I’m wondering if any of the them have an axe tan.
mommies love to dress there kids up for holidays…. uggghhh.
I remember those days
They remind me of real life characters out of The Far Side comics.
So true! Gary Larsen would have a tagline such as “The coconut-like sound of their heads colliding secretly delighted the bird.”
that made me chuckle like a coconut!
I can totally see where you’re coming from there.
You hit the nail on the head!
THAT’T IT! I kept lookng at his pic saying this looks familir what is it . . .besides those chairs that my Grandma used to own . . .
Ha ha ha ha, this is awesome!
i don´t really know with which one i want to fall in LOVE. it´s a hard decision. very hard.
The two hanging pictures on the wall throw off the otherwise perfect symetry of this photo.
And where can I find those chairs? You just can’t beat gold crushed velvet when it comes to furniture.
I am not kidding when I say I have one of those chairs. LOL! My mother in law gave it to us over 10 yrs ago. I don’t sit in it but my friends say its comfortable. I so laughed my butt off when I saw those chairs.
Soon after this holiday photo was snapped, the Symmetric family realized their home had been burgled.
Hahaha! Nice one!
“Alright boys, where did you put them? How many times have I told you to leave the pictures where they are?”
Fleabitten, perfect comment in a sea of lackluster comments. Well done.
AH-hah-ha. Very well done. People should get paid for being this witty.
Will someone teach these kids how to tie a neck-tie correctly, for the love of god?! Hmm, maybe clip ons?
The boy in the middle seems to have given up trying to tie it properly and has opted for a more laid back approach.
Oh yes, much more laid back.
Wow, I can hear the, “SHEESH, MOM! TAKE THE PICTURE ALREADY!!” from here.
LOL….exactly!
I feel like Grandma might be in on this one as well. Those chairs are looking 70′s to me.
Where are the plastic covers?
