Not awkward at all. I worked at an old time photo place, and this is one of the poses they offered. The girl has on shorts and a tube top and the guy has on shorts, no one is naked, and a billion other people have take the exact same picture. Granted, it’s not as common as flappers or saloon girls, but it’s really not that weird.

If he looked happy to be in the tub with her, I don’t think it would be awkward. It would be fun/cute. But a man/”outlaw” with a gun, a bag of money, a jar of whiskey and a naked girl ought to be happy. His face should say, “Oh yeah, I got it all. I’m THE man!” Instead it says, “She made me do this.”
