HILARIOUS! Why are they stopping to take a picture and they look like that. What father, in his right mind, would not see the dyer need to get immediate help?
correct. not awkward, just mean! get that poor girl some medicine for her reaction and don’t take a picture to remind yourself of how much you got burnt!
Given her sister and dad’s burns, that’s almost certainly what happened. I got 2nd degree sunburn once, and my face swelled up like it was going out of style. The only reason I could open my eyes more than her was because my cheeks are not very (what’s the word?) puffy(?). To be fair, given their skin tone, Dad may have put sunscreen on them and either not used a high enough SPF or not reapplied. When I was in the emergency room for my burns (they covered about half my body), the doctor told me that because of my skin tone I needed to use at least SPF 45 and reapply as often as I could. See kids? Dad may not be a complete incompetent.
You’d think their chins and neck would have gotten a ray or two! They are SO white compared to the middle of their face. And is the little ones eyes swollen shut? ouch!
Gees dad, forget the bug spray and the benedril??? Little sister looks all eaten up. No more father/daughter weekends for you. Or is that what you had planned all along, evil dad???????????? Bwa hah hah hah hah hah.
Minnesotans don’t care; we take the sun wherever and however we can get it. Try & find a summer picture *not* like this in any of our photo albums up here.
Nyria, if we told you once, we told you a thousand times…
Never eat shellfish and go out in the sun without a hat right afterwards. You know what it does to your eyes. Tsk, tsk…
I believe that is a skiing ticket the girl is holding. That redness if from the cold. Notice the the hat mark on the older girl’s head? The man has ski mask marks. And St. Cloud, MN? It is more cold than hot up that way, don’t you know?
I am from those parts, I know it.
Yes, snow skiing. Another clue? The white things in the picture is snow. Sure they are wearing short sleeves but they layered up to go outside and now they are hot. The hair is sweaty from the hats. The girls with the puffy cheeks is just a big, cute smiling girl. Nothing wrong with her except she is a bit of a ham for the camera.
Can you really get that burned from skiing? That would explain why they have no sunburn anywhere else…long sleeves. If this pale family was to wear no sunscreen in summer they would be blistered everywhere, Don’t come down here to Texas without SPF500 pale man and children!
You can get sunburn anywhere there’s sun. I am the queen of all that’s red and blistery. And windburn aint no picnic either!
Them puffy eyes look like an allergic reaction; hugging a cat, perhaps?
Brilliant call on the snow skiing! I think also the sun reflects off the snow and can cause more of a sunburn than you’d expect. And sunburn can cause facial swelling, but there must be more to the story on the little girl’s eyes swelling like that!
What’s up with dad having a sunglass tan, and not getting the kids some? The one girl seems to be holding up a *help me* sign, while the creepy hand coming from the back edges closer.
He also brought an empty bottle of Aloe Vera. Ugh my little cousin is like the little girl on the right her sunburns are horrific and she’ll sunburn in the shade on a cloudy day!
***Any comments that are offensive to the point of being viciously personal, racist, homophobic, exceedingly profane, violent or too graphic in nature won't be posted. We want to keep this site a friendly place to be awkward. Thanks!***

I’m actually pretty concerned about the little girl on the right…. Poor thing
I was just thinking the same thing! Her face looks swollen. I’m thinking they should have taken her to hospital and skipped the picture!!
Umm I think it’s poisen ivy?! lol She can’t open her eyes!!
Yeah, the red headed step-child always gets the worst of it!
my sister is a redhead, and when she gets a sunburn she swells, i don’t know what it is, but a trip to the doctor may have been in order.
Looks like she had some kind of allergy to the massive amounts of sun exposure that day! I think Dad also forgot the Benedryl.
HILARIOUS! Why are they stopping to take a picture and they look like that. What father, in his right mind, would not see the dyer need to get immediate help?
He’s makign us look bad!
Nevermind the sunburn – someone should look after the kid on the right who is *severely* allergic to bee stings, apparently.
Looks like a combination of pink-eye, too much sun and allergies….thanks mom!
2nd Degree Burns, Allergic Reactions, St. Cloud Minnesota……………………………SUCCESS!!!!!
Are you sure that was not vodka-induced? They’ve got the “Yeltsin smile”…
Bingo!
she has poison ivy !! my sis got it and she swelled up like the little one !! lol
…in my opinion it´s just a picture/foto – nothing, really nothing AWKWARD. nothing…
correct. not awkward, just mean! get that poor girl some medicine for her reaction and don’t take a picture to remind yourself of how much you got burnt!
FIRST!!
No I am first, look I posted first and made it in the middle of the page!! Duh duhhh duh! Failed
The youngest daughter soon grew tired of playing with the Fischer Price Lil Hornet Nest. But not before learning a valuable lesson.
HAHAHA!
LMAO!! That is a good one! POOR KID!!
Great one!
Uh, Dad I cannot open my eyes. Just hold on sweety we have to get this photo, the allergic reaction can wait.
Well, that’s what we get for living so close to that nuclear power plant! But it was so much cheaper.
There are so many things wrong with this
picture. Where do you start?
I wonder if the girl is so burned that she can’t open her eyes?
Given her sister and dad’s burns, that’s almost certainly what happened. I got 2nd degree sunburn once, and my face swelled up like it was going out of style. The only reason I could open my eyes more than her was because my cheeks are not very (what’s the word?) puffy(?). What is with the band of burn across the girl’s faces? Were they watching atomic bomb tests from a poorly shielded bunker?
Hahahahahahahaha!
Maybe they’re all just really embarrassed by something.
And his third daughter, behind the one in the blue shirt, happens to turn invisible when she gets camera shy.
At least dad wore sunglasses ((obviously)) … the poor kid on the right’s eyes look swollen shut!
As Dad’s attempt at a hug demonstrates, bad sunburn can adversely effect depth perception.
hahahaha!
The new “HeadOn” sunblock did wonders for us!
The girl on the right, are her eyes swelled shut? Wow, and still smiling. What a trooper!
OMG, burned skin, burned retinas, and the ignorance to enjoy the injuries! An ophthalmologist’s dream…
You’d think their chins and neck would have gotten a ray or two! They are SO white compared to the middle of their face. And is the little ones eyes swollen shut? ouch!
I have a feeling there will be a lot of pictures like this popping up. I’m a burner myself, so I can relate to the irritation. Have a good week!
Ouch. My skin hurts just looking at this.
Gees dad, forget the bug spray and the benedril??? Little sister looks all eaten up. No more father/daughter weekends for you. Or is that what you had planned all along, evil dad???????????? Bwa hah hah hah hah hah.
This is what happens when you look at the microwave for too long!!!!!!!
Minnesotans don’t care; we take the sun wherever and however we can get it. Try & find a summer picture *not* like this in any of our photo albums up here.
Nah, I’m pretty sure he had one too many mojitos.
Looks like his daughter had an allergic reaction to something.
That caption’s hard to beat!! Awesome!
SPF 0…..that’s great.
Nyria, if we told you once, we told you a thousand times…
Never eat shellfish and go out in the sun without a hat right afterwards. You know what it does to your eyes. Tsk, tsk…
Not sunburn…
Rosecea. A skin disorder.
So Rosecea leaves a sunglass tan?
Ahahahaha!!!
Have to admit, the ‘book of matches’ pattern on the younger kid’s shirt doesn’t help much either. Hope she got a nice wet towel for her face–
I’m pretty sure those are flowers, not matches.
At least he remembered to wear his sunglasses…
I believe that is a skiing ticket the girl is holding. That redness if from the cold. Notice the the hat mark on the older girl’s head? The man has ski mask marks. And St. Cloud, MN? It is more cold than hot up that way, don’t you know?

YES– wind burn is a b****! Even just being out in the cold makes your face red.
You can get sunburn anywhere there’s sun. I am the queen of all that’s red and blistery. And windburn aint no picnic either!
Them puffy eyes look like an allergic reaction; hugging a cat, perhaps?
Being the “queen of all that is red and blistery” isn’t something you want to admit too much. Just saying…
Might want to reword that
LOL
lmao!
Brilliant call on the snow skiing! I think also the sun reflects off the snow and can cause more of a sunburn than you’d expect. And sunburn can cause facial swelling, but there must be more to the story on the little girl’s eyes swelling like that!
i like how the degree of happiness seems to be incongruent to the degree of pain.
2nd degree burn of pain
First, the camera…then we go for the Aloe Vera.
Skiing, yes. That would explain the swollen face – smacked head first into a tree on the way down the bunny slope.
What’s up with dad having a sunglass tan, and not getting the kids some? The one girl seems to be holding up a *help me* sign, while the creepy hand coming from the back edges closer.
Young Anna Paquin on the left??
yeah, that green thing is a jacket hang tag from a ski hill.
it looks like the girl on the right’s eyes are swollen shut. not cool… small joke
The first time I went to my dermatologist looking like that, he literally gave me every pamphlet in his office and said, “READ THESE!”
There was a second time?
“Daddy, where’s my eppi-pen?”
Dad wore sunglasses but not sunscreen?
lol it says st.cloud on the shirt… sadly i live near there.
What happened? Swelled and red faces. Sunburns don’t make your face swell. Must have been some sort of plant they touched.
What a caption…lol. Bravo!
Omg this CAPTION MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD.
He also brought an empty bottle of Aloe Vera. Ugh my little cousin is like the little girl on the right her sunburns are horrific and she’ll sunburn in the shade on a cloudy day!
