This isn’t a “family photo”, it’s from a poster opposing gun control, and someone has trimmed off the caption. The posters were all claiming that advising people to just flee from violence is ignorant and insensitive because many people cannot, yet have just as much a right to life. The first one in the series was a guy in a wheelchair. There was also a mom with three little kids clinging to here, and a couple of old folks talking about their heart conditions.
This one, obviously, is of a pregnant women and observes that running whilst pregnant is like running while carrying a watermelon; she’d be much safer with the pistol.
I know what you’re thinkin’ punk. Did she fire 6 times or only 5 ? And to tell’ya the truth, I’ve forgotten myself in all the excitement. …..You gotta ask yourself one question. Do ya feel lucky ? Well do ya punk ?
I’m thinking since this is a fourth of july picture it’s about bearing fruit and bearing arms. I don’t know how they’re related, but that’s my guess. I’m absolutely flabbergasted by this picture.
Her mistake that she’s left her son in the car and brought the watermelon in for the family photo won’t be fully noticed by her until she heads home to tuck the baby in for a nap and carve up the melon.
Maybe she has a Watermelon farm and before entering there is a HUGE cutout sign of this picture posted up on the side of a hill with a caption “Trespassers will be shot.”

Little known fact: Teddy Roosevelt carried a watermelon up San Juan Hill.

Apparently watermelon wrangling is far more dangerous than I’d been led to believe.

“A reminder of the freedoms we fought so hard for.”…and they all carried watermelons.

i think she wants people to keep their dirty hands off her melons
Large, juicy fruit, a bun in the oven and a handgun. Does it get any better than this, boys?
ummm…. did anyone else notice she’s pregnant?
THANK YOU.
Well…it all makes perfect sense now. She’s pregnant. I did that exact same thing when I was pregnant, only with a cumquat and a crossbow.

This is actually a security cam shot from a fruit stand robbery in Alabama
there is something sexy about a woman with a gun and a watermelon, it’s like it appeals to at least three of my favorite things
I never thought of using a gun to open up the watermelons at our family picnics, I always used a kitchen knife, go figure!!
uh, i carried a watermelon.
Awesome use of a Dirty Dancing quote!
Awkward rule #412: Random props

What must the photographer at Olan Mills have thought? Okay, lady, calm down. There’s no sitting fee for the melon.
Great one!
I just do not get this photo!
Does she know Bait and Shoot is illegal in most states?
Dave, cut it out! ;P
I don’t know but I’ve been told,
Shootin’ a watermelon is mighty cold!
Um. Why?
Her mistake that she’s left her son in the car and brought the watermelon in for the family photo won’t be fully noticed by her until she heads home to tuck the baby in for a nap and carve up the melon.
Appreciate the back story on this. It all makes sense now.
You can have my melons when you pry them from my dead, cold … uh, … what was I talking about?
