  1. Lauren says:

Not a picture deserving to be on awkwardfamilyphotos.com . How dreadfully insensitive, un-American and anti-feminist to post this on the 4th of July.

  2. Abby says:

I’m no Palin fan, but I’m a little annoyed that you call the blue star flag a “US Army Mobile.” The blue star means she has a son or daughter at war. If it were a gold star, it would mean the family member died at war. It’s a tradition that goes back at least to WWII.

  3. Jenny says:

Why post an obviously fake picture?

  4. Ali says:

Good god, what an ugly woman. And… I thought there were rules on how to display an American flag? You’re being a bad, bad American Palin…. I bet the Russians next door are loving it. ;)

  5. Greggen says:

Can you imaging if Obama DARED to drape the flag over a chair and pose so disrespectfully like this? Fox news would be worked into such a tizzy we’d be hearing about the war on the flag for years!
I for one berate former G’vnor Palin for her crapping on the flag…

  6. Stankleberry says:

    She is wonderful.

  7. Izzy says:

    PALIN 2012!!

  8. Ricko the Sicko Conservative says:

Simply God lovin luscious! My heart is broken that I did not go to high school with her and have – just a chance to spend my life with her. This soul is not stupid… she was however much too green to have been thrust into the national stage. I suspect her I.Q. is no lower than yours.

  9. oya says:

I hope she runs for president in 2012 so I have something to laugh at for several months. The debates would also be priceless. Yeehaw

  10. StEpHaNiE says:

Andy Warhol called from beyond Sarah….your 15 minutes are up

  11. Emilene says:

Because all serious runners run in their pantyhose…

  12. Ianshe's had kids. says:

She is one tasty looking woman with a great figure considering she’s had so many kids. It’s a pity more women don’t look after themselves like she does.

  13. Chazlette says:

That thing on the wall behind her looks like a lamp but in actuality it is one of those turkey killing grinder machines she carries around with her in case she gets hungry after a run. Also.

  14. Roger says:

Only thing awkward is the attacks by the left that keep coming and just don’t stick to Palin.

Try to keep the site on topic

  15. Say now says:

I thought she has (proudly) said she was a serious runner! Those are NOT a serious runners’ legs.

  16. LewScannon says:

Quite a view from SBS windows in the $500,000 house Hubbie Todd threw together with “a couple of buddies”.
    Inappropriate, maybe. Awkward? Nah.

  17. Babbette says:

Okay, I think it’s a fake. Mainly because the legs are wearing pantyhose–that’s why they’re so shiny and tan. Alaska women let the hair grow. No one wears hose with activewear.

  18. yokime says:

SHE IS A HOT MAMA! SHE SHUOLD BE THE PRESIDENT (COMMING FROM A MAN)!

  19. jm says:

It is interesting that all her shadows and in fact the shadows of object in the room are cast left yet the light fixture behind her is cast right. What’s more interesting is the hard shadows at all given the natural light that would be coming in from the windows. I vote all fake, starting from the tan up :)

    • jan says:

The lights are cast that way due to the fact that 2 lights were used. They wouldn’t use any of the natural light for a pose like this. It is somewhat amateurish, though. I am surprised that someone who takes photos for a magazine would put out work like this. There is nothing fake about this photo. Congrats to Mrs. Palin for looking this hot! She deserved the magazine picture.

    • Family Man says:

Oh, come on. It’s a professional photo, as someone above pointed out. She’s well-lit by a lighting rig. However, that tan… I doubt that was the team from the runner’s mag.

    • iRikk says:

jm… the shadow discrepancies are because the Runner’s World photographer was using strobes (3 of them actually) to light her. Notice how shadow free she is. Also notice the color temperature is the same as outside. Not a fake at all… um, er, well at least the picture isn’t. ;^))

    • Floofness says:

Yes, because you can’t possibly have more than one light source. That would be silly.

  20. melissa says:

    What exactly is she holding?

  21. tee says:

How in the world can anyone take her seriously? Real female politicians work hard and get ignored, but Politic Barbie just won’t go away.

    • Chris says:

“Real female politicians work hard”…listen, she ran for mayor on her own, and then knocked the established Republican hand-picked candidate to become the candidate for Governor, then she won that….disagree with the views if you want, but don’t slag someone personally..just remember, Hillary basically got where she is today by being a President’s wife after all…

      • Kristi says:

Right, from being a president’s wife, valedictorian at Wellesley College, and Yale Law School. “disagree with the views if you want, but don’t slag someone personally.” Interesting how you get mad because of personal attacks against your beauty queen in the same paragraph you diminish the qualifications of our Secretary of State. Good one!

        • Chris says:

The point is that Hillary has very little in terms of qualifications for Secretary of State, and I didn’t mean to belittle Ms. Clinton’s background, but she did get her Senate seat because of family connections….anyways, I feel Ms. Palin is unfairly targeted as “politic Barbie”, and people who criticize her tend to not cast the same critical eye to their own favorites…..

      • Cheryl says:

of course her efforts put her husband in the presidency. Without her on his team, he never would have made it that far.

  22. Sam says:

I dunno if you’re joking or if you really don’t know but that’s not a candid photo, it was for last issue of Runner’s Monthly (or Weekly? Some mag similarly titled)… Its from an article about Palin’s passion for running… Not defending her (from what? nobody flamed her yet, lol) she irritates the piss outta me but seriously–this was in a published magazine & I’d hate to see anyone get in crap for posting it…

  23. Charles says:

This one is going to bring some interesting comments :)

  24. Anthony says:

She didn’t get my vote, except for the hot GOP babe vote. Puritanism and leg wax is so hot!!

  25. Shannon says:

Sarah Palin has tanner legs than i do and i do not live in alaska.

    • Chris says:

I too envy her tan. She obviously runs or works outdoors much more than you or I do. She is one special woman, and I expect we will see and hear a lot more of her in the years ahead, leading up to what I hope will be a great victory in 2012. Way to go, Sarah Palin, and may God bless you!

      • Ali says:

You’re so delusional. During the campaign all she did was tan in random sunny cities she was in. GOD FORBID this moron becomes our next president.

    • charlotte says:

well, maybe you should just wear stockings with your shorts… or have your legs painted that color like scuba diving barbie (if you havent seen it, its hard to explain).

  26. UncleSamWifey says:

It isn’t a mobile. She is a Blue Star Mom also known as a Military Mom…during WWII these were hung in windows to symbolize how many men in each household were serving.Upon the death of a loved one killed in action, the blue star goes to a gold star hence ‘Gold Star Mother’ or ‘Gold Star Wife.’ They have since made a comeback of sorts since the war has started. They can be found in pins, window decals, car magnets, tshirts, etc. It is a very profound and simple way of showing a love one is serving.

  27. nite owl says:

Well, this explains her recent announcement and early resignation…she knew she was going to be “outted” on this website!

  28. Brandon says:

    I can see Russia!

  29. El Kev says:

Aside from whatever anyone thinks of her political views, she’s hot.

  30. andy says:

She will be huddled in the American Flag throw blanket with the family during the Fireworks.

  31. Charlotte says:

Nubian Princess shade sunless tanner anyone?

  32. Russ says:

Today Gov. Palin announced that she would be stepping down in protest of Alaska’s denial of her request to change the state colors to something other than “dirty ice brown” and “yellow snow”.

  33. Ugh… I’d hate to have her as a vice president or president. She’s really dumb. But… hmmm… she’s nice to look at… :)

  34. JanScholl says:

The day Runner’s World started posing photos like this and insisting on celebrity runners (some very questionable on the running) for their main stories, I unsubbed. Runners sweat and the shine on their legs is salty not waxy. Jeez-even the shoes look unreal.

  35. Anthony says:

Palin lost my vote, but has won the She’s a Babe vote. Great view, and I’m not talking about the lake.

  36. Bob says:

while she just happened to have two blackberries on her person

  37. Christina says:

This sure looks photoshopped to me…

  38. Cloud says:

    *stares*

  39. Brie Padfield says:

Is that Russia in the background?

  40. the_exile says:

I think you meant ‘candied’ :-)

  41. Insanewiches says:

The sneakers absolutely make this pic!

  42. Don says:

The “U.S. Army mobile” is a War Mother’s Flag, meaning that she has a son at war.

    • Family Man says:

Thanks for pointing that out, Don. As much as I’m not a Palin fan, the description of that as a “mobile” was inept, inapt, and inappropriate for all Americans, especially today. It’s important to remember the sacrifices of American families as well as those that serve.

      • Cheryl says:

why was mislabeling it a mobile inappropriate for all Americans? Maybe the person just didn’t know, so I can agree with the inapt and might even stretch to agree with the inept (due to lack of knowledge of something most of us would not know about) but inappropriate for all Americans????

      • Vic says:

To clarify, that flag in the window means she has a child OVERSEAS. If they are on American soil, they don’t get the flag.

  43. tait says:

even if you think she’s dumb as a box of hair, you have to admit, she’s hot.
and why is she holding her blackberry? or two of them? and are those little pink mukluks on the window sill? did the photographer surprise her on her way back in from her run? i don’t know what this picture was going for. an american athlete/beauty queen who supports america, technology, america, native alaskans, america, physical fitness, and most of all, AMERICA?

  44. TREEMAN says:

    …bääääähhhh.

  45. Wendy says:

Well, you really CAN see Russia in the background.

  46. Molly says:

And Russia in the back ground!

  47. And that’s Russia in the background!

  48. Sarah says:

Not awkward at all. I think she’s pretty. :) And we all know it’s staged of course, so that doesn’t effect my decision.

  49. WVBOBW says:

It was when Gov. Palin saw this photo that she decided to resign!

  50. Steve Wilson says:

The Fail is so very strong with her.
