After he praised MJ and he’s holding a poodle it may be good that Bama has a good
looking wife and two kids that favor him a lot.

  2. Jobama says:

    Wow. Leftist politics. Bookmark deleted.

  3. Jeff says:

The dog and Obama have the exact same facial expression.

  4. Kate says:

Wait a sec… Isn’t Bo a predominately black dog??? And much bigger than this one???

  5. @janejax says:

    Who’s dog is that?

  6. Amykins says:

How did they get the dog and Obama to have the exact same smug/confident expressions? Hilarious!!!!

  7. Anne H says:

That dog’s name is ‘Baby’. The photo was taken as part of a campaign against animal abuse in puppy mills.

Baby is an abused puppy mill survivor who lived through a 9-year ordeal in order to become a “national spokesdog” to raise awareness about cruelty in the dog breeding industry.

Like all the breeding dogs, Baby was tattooed with a number and had her vocal cords cut so the owners wouldn’t have to listen to her cries to be let out of her cage. Her leg was amputated after her rescue due to the abuse she suffered.

    • mommakin says:

Well, that’s awkward…..not much to say after that.

      • Nina says:

How could you not love Obama after a story like that? What a sweet dude.

        • Justin says:

          It’s easy

          • MichelleO says:

I agree. Big deal. The empty suit held a puppy for a photo op. He’s still spent more of our taxes in his first 100 days than any other president in history. It didn’t help either.

Love the cigarette tax, Obama. What’s next?

      • stl says:

is that a joke?…cut vocal cords? not much to say. either way, doesn’t seem like such a good “Spokesperson”…;-0

    • What in the World? says:

If b.o. is so sweet – why didn’t he adopt this dog or one like it — remember he promised to adopt a dog like this – instead he let that murderer Kennedy buy him a 3 thousand dollar dog instead of taking a stand and saying, “No, I promised the American people I would get my girls a dog from the pound.”

Just chalk it up to one more lie…. awkward for him and for those who keep buying into his lies…

      • Aline says:

His daughter is allergic to most dogs. That limited their choices to dogs with hair instead of fur.

        • graphicartist2k5 says:

i dunno if you know this or not, but hair IS fur. it’s just more coarse in texture.

          • BinkBonk says:

The texture is absolutely what makes them different. In that respect, they ARE different.

          • Jackson says:

That’s like saying, a penny and a quarter are both circles so they must be the same thing.

Actually there are dogs who are hypoallergenic, which means that instead of growing/shedding fur, they grow hair (like that of a human) and need haircuts.

There is a difference. This is internet, make sure you know what you’re talking about or you WILL be corrected.

      • Summer says:

um, he didnt adopt this dog because SHE ALREADY HAS AN OWNER. I agree he should have adopted a rescue dog, but what does that have to do with politics?? name one president, dem or rep, who never did one thing in their personal life that someone didn’t agree with.

      • Adora VS says:

Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog Kennedy gave the family, was a “rescue” dog in a way. He was returned to the breeder after he didn’t fit in with his original family – the breeder, being a responsible one, had a return clause in the contract that ensures any dogs that are no longer wanted or can’t be cared for any longer are returned to them instead of the pound or a shelter.

The problem the Obamas had was that one of the girls was allergic to dogs, and only certain breeds with certain coat types are considered hypoallergenic and are unlikely to trigger allergies. While there are pure-bred dogs in shelters across the country, it’s possible that there was a different breed mixed in at some point in the past, or the breeder was an irresponsible one who didn’t follow breed standards and produced dogs with coats that DO irritate allergies.

In getting an “unwanted” dog from a responsible breeder, the Obamas ensured that their daughter’s allergies would be very unlikely to be triggered, yet at the same time they were “rescuing” a dog in a sense. It’s a matter of practicality and their daughter’s health, not a lie and nothing to do with politics.

    • Giz Gunnar says:

Thank you for the story behind the picture. On its own, the picture is rather strange, but I am proud that our president doesn’t mind looking a bit silly for a good cause. Even so, I hope this picture isn’t offensive to the “Blue Dog” Democrats!

      Giz

  8. Mari says:

    ugly dog :x

  9. ballfour says:

Back to the main point…How can you have a “National spokesdog” that had his vocal cords cut out???

  10. hat says:

How is this an awkward family photo in any way?

  11. Nanami says:

Wow, too bad this is photoshopped.

  12. emm says:

dang, i thought in honor of billy mays obama musta washed his dog with oxy-clean!

  13. renee says:

The dog’s backstory makes the posting of this pic on this website awkward

  14. Stan says:

wow… he’s no Abraham Lincoln, that’s for sure.

  15. Annie says:

    Obama looking GOOD lol

first time in YEARS that we have a good looking, intelligent, well composed president!
can’t get that happiness out :)

  16. BLah says:

First time in years we have a communist dictator wanna-be president who has 74 “Czars.” He’s also running the economy into the ground and has proposed more debt than every single president before him COMBINED. You can’t tax your way to prosperity, Barry.

  17. Susan E says:

Um…I don’t know about you, but I visit AFP for a laugh and to avoid news, politics, and other downers…

While this photo is not awkward, the fact that someone chose to post it here certainly is…

I know, I know, just click past it. But seriously, let’s don’t post this sort of thing here. Let’s keep AFP a happy place where we can enjoy the VanHelsings, the Style Queen, male naked preganacy photos, and all the compound bow remarks we can handle!

Are you with me? Anyone? You in the back there?

    • canne says:

I actually think the picture is slightly amusing — the President looks slightly constipated and the dog looks smug. It’s just the political comments I don’t find funny. Prefer to keep my political commentary and matching-mullet families separate. Like my sausage and sweet potatoes. Quirky that way.

  18. Miranda says:

He was obviously invited to the BYOLWD dinner.

  19. chilax says:

Come ON people! This is a picture from a book that campaigned against puppy mills. The dog is named Baby and she has no leg because she’s from a puppy mill. A woman nicknamed Drive-By Angel rescued her when she was about to be killed because she got too old to produce puppies. Her leg was shattered when she jumped off of a couch because she was in a small cage her whole life, and didn’t get the nutrients she needed to grow her bones right.

Dang, I’m laughing my head off right now.

  20. drzoidbong says:

    random i voted for lincoln

  21. David says:

    good grief rachel, catch up with the adults :}

  22. John says:

Very awkward. Def glad I got to see this. :)

  23. a says:

The back story makes this hard to make fun of….and yet. This really should’ve been cropped. I’m sorry Mr. Lincoln, but there’s “too much look” in this picture.

  24. mnell says:

    How bada**.

  25. Maria says:

Does noone know that this is a dog from a puppy farm? He took this picture on behalf on the author of a book advocating to outlaw puppy mills.

  26. Ben says:

Something about a white dog owned by the first black president standing in front of Lincoln that somehow sits right with me.

  27. mardacara says:

Awh. That’s not awkward. That’s just cute.

  28. ashlayy says:

indeed akward buht necessary for this website >.<

  29. heathermommie says:

    LMAO.

  30. Erin says:
