Oh my god ….poor thing!
why were her legs in that position…that’s not a typical falling position AT ALL! Her hair is what rocked it though!
“Here we are at the Summer Curling finals, as the Swedish team has a bit of a mishap…”
Even funnier than the picture! Nice one.
i know i’m late–getting caught up on AFP- but your comment made me cry. thank you.
Can you say, “FACEPLANT”?
Thanks for the laugh!
This made me laugh right out loud.
My 4 year old would get right up and try it again. I am just amazed they caught that very moment in time. Lucky.
yeah umm not funny. or awkward, just straight up painful, and sad.
you have no sense of humor. Why are you looking at this site?
Why are YOU here?
Omg, laugh a bit! I agree with amigo and Tonya, why are you even on this site???
i laugh at a lot of stuff. just not physical pain. i’m not saying “take the photo down” or anything like some other people but i can certainly put out there that i think its painful and sad. oh and i have an awesome sense of humor….. just sayin!
Ok I can see your point but I bet ya anything this little one got right back up and did it again.
Well, it could’ve just been taken at a bad angle like most of those photos. I’ve taken plenty of pictures that came out looking like something they weren’t.
Doesn’t stop me from worrying a little, though. *Hopefully* it just came out wrong, someone clicked at the wrong moment.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! No, this IS funny…. Little kids bounce right back; they’re very resilliant. She’s totally fine. And this is totally funny!!!! SHe probably saw a bigger kid take a flying start, and she probably did too much UP and not enough FORWARD. Ha ha ha ha haaa!!!! Yeah, this is funny. I care not what you say:). I agree with amigo down there, in a totally friendly way. You seem like an Oprah fan….
You’re right…it’s hilarious! Gosh, how many times did I do something like that as a kid? How many times have I seen my kid do something similar? The only time a fall like that is not side-splitting is when someone gets hurt.
That’s gonna leave a mark
ouch!
Hm… Awkward?? Don’t see it. I just feel bad for that girl. D:
Hilarious!
Baby’s first friction lesson.
Win!
I laughed so hard I cried!!
Still wiping tears! I couldn’t hardly look at it before erupting into giggles again. Absolutely priceless ; )
what i want to know is where his other leg went…its like there is just a random leg near the middle of the shot.
I think he “bowled” her and he’s doing that one legged bowling pose.
and if you think about the “bowling position” aspect…and look at the poor little girl…it does look more like the was sorta thrown rather than just sliding. Makes me a little sad now..but I have a feeling if I go back and look I’ll laugh….
…yup. LOL…poor thing.
Great call! No other explanation for that missing leg.
EXACTLY!
It’s not on either side. It’s not behind. Where the hell else is the other leg!?
I MUST KNOW!!!
Yeah, that’s very strange.
yeah! maybe the most awkward part of this picture…
It’s a phantom limb.
Clearly it’s the post punting pose.
ha! awesome…..post punting pose! ahahahahah!!!!
splat!
OH MAN! that is such a awesome action pic
Well I guess I’m an awful person, and mother at that, because I really got a laugh from this photo! I have two toddlers and this is something that both of them would do, then promptly get up, laugh, and do it again!
Yea, this photo looks bad just because it caught the exact moment she hit the ground. Likely the whole fall wasn’t a big deal.
…I tell myself so I can sleep at night.
My guess is that it probably looks worse than it was. At least nothing that a hug couldn’t cure.
freakn’ hee hee hee larious !!! literally made me lol!!! (poor lil’ punkin’!)
Poor baby… Hope she was alright. Wondering if she got back on the slide again after this.
Slip-n-…stick!
GASP!!!
In Ypga we call this the one legged sliding frog
BEST PIC EVER!!!!
i. can’t. stop. laughing.
Me either…I’m crying I’m laughing so damn hard! I have kids and I still think it’s funny as hell!
I cannot stop laughing…Poor baby but what a funny picture! If my kids had light hair, I’d think it was taken in MY backyard.
BABY’S FIRST SCIENCE LESSON: When the unstoppable force meets the unmovable object
I must say….Bravo on the part of the photographer. What an action shot!
I just peed my pants
Slip n slide: 1
Baby: 0
this comment made me laugh out loud
I was laughing so hard I was already crying, then I read the discussion about “where’s the other leg?” You’re right! Where the hell is Dad’s other leg?!
Ah, yes, I remember this toy, we used to call ours the “slip and scab”…..good times!!
HOLY CRAP!
LOL, this is one of the best pictures yet! I can’t stop laughing. Reminds me of when my dad and his friend tried setting a snowtubing distance record with me.
Oh, this was just TOO funny…having raised 4 daughters, it just busted me up!! Thank you!
Slip-n-Slide….$29.95
Swimsuit…..$14.95
Hot summer day… free
Biting it on the first run….PRICELESS!!!!
I laughed so hard I cried!!! The mom in me gasped and cringed and wants to scoop her up and hug her, but the human side can’t stop laughing! Poor lil’ thing! Yes, I agree, whoever took this got very lucky w/ the timing!
To the people who can’t figure out where the other guy’s leg is:
The leg is probably still in the air, behind him. He most likely lifted it off the ground as he pushed, in order to achieve greater force (which probably seemed like a good idea at the time). Now it’s frozen in mid-air as he has forgotten to put it down since the only two thoughts running through his mind are now “HOLY SH** HOLY SH** HOLY SH**!!!!” and “DID MY WIFE SEE? HOLY SH***”
On a personal note: This reminds me of the time my dad was watching us and we rented Karate Kid, which led to us doing karate-kicks and kicking plastic cups off of objects. This led to him kicking cups off of my head. Then he tried to kick one off my baby sister’s head. He overcompensated for her shorter stature and kicked her right in the face. It was hilarious once we figured out she was fine haha.
Yep, sounds like my hubby.
I just laughed hysterically at your story. Your poor sister, lol. Bad judgments in parenting, ftw!
This one made me laugh as hard as the one of the kid in midfall down the steps from either the 60’s or ’70s. It’s not that I’m laughing at a little kid possibly being hurt, it’s just the timing of the photo is so spot on you can’t help but laugh. I remember smashing my head pretty hard as a toddler (including during an ill advised attempt to jump over the coffee table and land on the couch. Head meet windowsill…) and survived, so a slip n slide isn’t going to cause permanent injury. I’ve fallen down stairs too, it’s not fun, but not permanently disfiguring.
Oh soooo funny! Whoever snapped that pic has perfect timing!
I think that the leg is really just a spike to hold the slip-n-slide in place and isn’t actually attached to a human..
I can imagine the moment of pure silence while she takes a deep breath…and then breaks the sound barrier.
OMG, I just laughed so hard…
OMG. So funny. Poor thing! I can definitely see my daughter doing that, getting up and saying “Again!!!” That’s why it’s okay to laugh at it…I’m sure she was fine.
I hated slip n slides though. First time I went down one, they forgot to check for ROCKS first. Never did it again!
my thought, too. I always found the one rock that was overlooked. Ow!
Obviously training for “So You Think You Can Dance Bollywood!
Training for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE BOLLYWOOD! those kids start early!
Bollywood Dance Training!
that’s how you go down a slip and slide, and that’s why dentists are still in business.
I’m a little curious as to where the father’s other leg is…
Execution… 8
Landing… 10
Wow, I give it a 9.8!
FAIL!
Lesson of the Day: Don’t bowl your children.
My 21 month old did that recently, stood up and said “sorry daddy” and kept on playing.
