I’m definitely feeling a “kumbaya” feeling
i don’t know, once again, this doesn’t seem that awkward, sure maybe a little…but otherwise not half bad for musicians
I agree 100%!!!
Rodrigo y Gabriela?
I love them.
its not them and besides they are WAY too cool for a shot like this
but yes totally love them
I don’t get it.
Seals and Croft, the Early Years.
Isn’t this how John and Yoko started?
This is actually not awkward at all, nor is it their engagement photo. That’s a band called Coyote, and that’s a photo from one of their albums.
That’s what it looks like. Not awkward. They look more sensible than most would under the circumstances. Cliche band pose, but what can you do?
as much as i want to post some snarky comment, i have to agree with you oy—i think this is a great pic! what great people they are–shes recently been battling cancer, and hes just a doll–bless em both!
(although i dont condone sitting on the sea oats…) gotta love ocracoke island!
I’ve been there, and it’s beautiful.
Win!
Now that we know it’s a band photo, there’s clearly nothing at all awkward about it. Yep. It’s an non-awkward as a photo can possibly be.
the question is, “which one is the poser?”
no, wait, they both are
Here’s why I’d argue it is a little awkward. Lady looks like a stay-at-home mom and dude kinda looks like her um, let’s say “pool guy”. Plus they are wearing long pants and long-sleeved black shirts while on the beach. Dude also doesn’t look too convinced with the photoshoot.
It may be winter on this beach and cold enough for long sleeved clothing. Looks fine to me. Live near the beach in the Northeast-photos like these are not that uncommon.
Okay, I just gotta ask – what, exactly, does a “stay at home mom” look like? I don’t think there’s a “type” for that. Not sure what pool guys look like either, but this guy happens to be her um, let’s say “husband”.
They are both professional musicians so the shot was done as a publicity shot, therefore holding the instruments is not awkward either.
Marcy and Lou (that’s who those people are) both thought it funny that their picture was on the site, and Marcy agreed that it might even be a bit awkward. But it’s nothing compared to most of what’s out here!
This particular beach is in NC, where it is not warm year ’round (like FL beaches might be) and therefore often perfectly normal to be in long sleeves/pants.
Can I co-sign this comment?
K-Tel presents:
“We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun…”
Summer Serenade
“Sweet Carolina girls…best in the world…”
Featuring all your beach-loving favorites
“Brandy…you’re a fine girl, what a good wife you’d be…”
Snort! K-Tel!
But wait, there’s MORE….you also get a set of Ginsu knives!
Hey…I think I have that album….and it is not the cover of these 2 people!!!
To be fair, Oygirl didn’t claim it was the cover…
They’re gonna have to pawn those instruments to pay the fine for trampelling endangered dune grasses.
I gave my love a cherry…..
LOL!
And smash goes the guitar!
WINNER!
Best comment!!! You win!!
bluto, think it’s the other was around…
Cherry a love my gave I? That makes NO sense.
Are they sitting on sea oats? Thats not allowed. Maybe this is a picture for their single “I won your heart and crushed Mother Nature”.
LOL!
Nope, sorry, scones are not mentioned in “My Favorite Things.” Crisp apple strudel or schnitzel with noodles, maybe. But no scones.
And the only mention of strings is when they’re used to tie up the brown paper packages. Hmm…
“I’ve been everywhere and yet…I’ve never been…to me.”
So not awkward.
Ok, maybe it’s time to include a Scale of Awkwardness with each picture. Where, instead of making a lame comment like “It’s not awkward, it’s cute”, people can just score each picture.
I think everyone has a different definition of Awkward, and I, for one, am tired of seeing fights about it.
1- All they need now is a compound bow! Hahahaha
2- This is not awkward at all, it’s sweet!
3- You people are idiots that’s the arrow of light. Good for you kid!
4- Van Helsings
5- omg lol rotfl so AWKWARD!
omg lol rotfl at the scale of awkwardness. Hilarious win!
You should switch the definitions for 1 and 2. that would fit better
I dig a scone now and then.
mmmmmmm me too…i could go a scone right now actually…mmmm
Seems Billy Joe and Bobbi Sue made off with the lute after all …
Best. Comment. Ever.
You take that back, ya damn lyre.
Oh SNAP! C and Bucky for the WIN!!!
Would be funnier if the instrument actually was a lute. It’s a mandolin.
Dear Oy,
Your sense of humor is waiting for you in Will Call. Meanwhile, if you’re trying to act as their publicist or something, I think your work here is done.
Hi Angie – my sense of humor is intact. I did get it – and actually thought it was quite funny…I love a good play on words). Just would’ve been even funnier if it had been a lute. Now to think of a good word play using mandolin…
why correct a joke? just laugh and move on…
(can’t get this comment to nest at the right level)
Well said, Alison. I think I was secretly envious that I didn’t think of the “damn lyre” reply since C beat me to it. Of course, that WAS before I picked up my sense of humor at Will Call.
^
Laughing (mostly at self). Moving on.
Потрясающе! Хочется перечитывать снова и снова… Такие авторы сегодня большая редкость.
That’s what *she* said.
I agree 100%
Them’s fightin’ words, comrade!
Oy seems to be uptight…I guess she knows these two personally and is getting offended..lighting up and get a sense of humor…
Yes, I do know these two personally (they’re my neighbors and my friends) but didn’t mean to seem offended. Darn written word…no inflection. There’s not much to be offended about ‘cuz heaven knows far more awkward photos than this have been taken of yours truly (although, thankfully, none are posted here…yet).
Oygirl
Nothing awkward about this at all
Little known to their fans, The Captain and Tennielle once tried thier hand at the folk scene.
Summer lovin, had me a blast!
what does scones have to do with anything??
check out her legs. awkward!
Bet they adhere to the Twin Flame philosophy………..
(which is quite interesting, actually)
they’re waiting for michael to row his boat ashore.
Hallelujah!
FTW!!!!!
Scones? I don’t get it.
I am confused by the scone comment and lack of awkwardness as well.
Worst beach picnic ever.
Hey!!! I love scones!! What’s wrong with scones??
a bit cheesy maybe? Not site-worthy though, IMO.
Maybe I’m just sad cause you guys are sitting on a bunch of my submissions which are winners!
UNawkward. Trying too hard with some of these photos, but site is great!
Look at the way she’s sitting. Looks very awkward to me.
This one’s cute.
Scones … and Yanni
These two are from the band Coyote and play regularly in Ocracoke. Both are outstanding musicians and really nice people. Best of luck to them on all of their endeavors
Why on EARTH would you have your instruments out on the beach? The thought of sand getting on a nice instrument makes me want to rip my hair out.
OMG, I just outed myself as the music nerd.
I’ll shut up now.
Now this photo I actually really like, it’s not very awkward and it’s actually quite cute
