To all: NEWSFLASH. It’s now called the Willis Tower. I will still call it the Sears Toweor though. Who cares if it has no more office space used by Sears.
Not the safest place to just pull off to road for a photo op in Indy, either! haha That’s a spot that roads are splitting several different ways, and (stupid) drivers often get confused. Hope they made it back into their car and back onto the highway (where most drive 80+) safely! lol
Yep, I work in one of those buildings and I just drove down that road not 15 minutes ago. It’s I-70 facing West. I just took the Michigan exit! LOL! I was totally shocked to see this!
That’s actually 65 North, right before the south split. How funny that they thought this was a good idea for a photo. Maybe they liked the Indy skyline & thought it would be their only chance to get a pic? LOL.
I love this pic. She’s like as far away as possible from grandpa, and they are too old to care about being geeky..lol.. ANd maybe she thought it was a stupid picture moment
I used to drive through this interchange (”the north split” on traffic reports) every single day. Don’t ever remember the roads being this deserted! It’s almost like they completely stopped traffic!
I think the comment about the “Sears Tower” is in reference to the I-65 North sign, pointing toward Chicago, over the couple.
Great photo!
Hey I get confused here all the time going to downtown Indy looking for the darn Children’s museum…ask my kids…we totally end up headed for Chi-town…maybe they were just stopping for a closer look:)
We got stranded on the highway once when I was a kid (right down the road from grandma’s house). So as we were walking to get to her exit my dad decided to take a picture of us on the side of the road like we were tourists. I’m glad he’s not the only one that does stuff like that!

this is definitely indianapolis.
The Indy AAA baseball team has done better than the cubs this past century
It doesn’t seem like there’s that much space between people until you see the photo.
I actually like this picture..
Ha Ha I just had a flat tire here Indianapolis, In.
This one made me laugh so loudly my kids came running to see it!! I actually snorted!!!
That’s Indianapolis!!! hahah So there wouldn’t be the Sears tower anyway… but still a quality pic!
Like everybody else, I was going to point out that they are posing in front of Indianapolis, Indiana. The Sears Tower is in Chicago, Illinois.
Somebody here doesn’t know their geography.
Awkward!
Seeing the Sears Tower from Indianapolis would be quite a feat.

Unless you are broken down doing this type of thing on an interstate highway is illegal.

They have to be either named Fletcher or be from Michigan or Ohio, otherwise WHY?!
I was thinking they must be Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher too!

Ok, WHY are they standing there? Did they walk there? Where is the traffic??

Indy is my home.. definitely Indy.
Same here. Go Naptown!
Hahah, I love it. I live right here in Indy so the I-70 west exit ramps to 65 and downtown are an everyday occurrence for me!
it reminds me of the song “The Way”….i wonder if they know where they are
I lived in Indiana for 25 years and made this stretch often. Deja vu!
