Size Doesn’t Matter

This picture is bittersweet to me. Back in the 80′s I shaved one side of my head for awhile and then the other for a full on mohawk. My mother was severely verbally abusive and threatening to kick me out all the time. The only reason she didn’t is that I was paying her rent at 15 and had TWO jobs. Kids nowadays don’t realize that back then you were threatened with physical body harm ANY time you went out in public. People would throw stuff, pull over in their cars and try to beat the hell out of you and call you faggots and such.. It was literally life threatening most times. Also got kicked out of restaurants and pulled over by cops. When I would ask them what they were looking for they said, “We’ll know when we find it”… Kudos to this mom for posing in this picture with these great kids. I wish I knew you guys back then. I’m 43 and don’t regret one single thing from the 80′s…
Oh those were the days weren’t they Little Jen??
