This was right before they put on their full-body Winne the Pooh costumes.
Just ooks like an honest European band photo. They’re doing nothing awkward.
Do you take your We’re-part-of-nature’s-wonder family photo in a forest that’s been so aggressively trimmed?? They look as if they’re mourning the tree they’re posed around.
I like it! However, it would have been better with the kids only.
you kno, creepy as it may be..i’m really diggin the dad’s windbreaker. is that memebers only?
Would make an awesome album cover.
I think it’s a great shot!
mind-boggling perspective… ahhhh
It’s like one of those Russian folktales, where any moment something that’s supposed to be symbolic but makes no sense and is totally terrifying is going to happen.
I am legitimately afraid for my life after seeing this picture
the girl in front was totally photoshopped in!!
No photoshop. That girl in the front is me and I remember the photo being taken. We were all told by Dad “don’t smile or else!”.
this pic looks edited…. maybe a little photoshop action?
I think they’re just trying out their new couch before they take it home.
Maybe a better title would be “Disenchanted Forest”
Mom is making sure this family vacation doesn’t end with 3rd degree sunburns for her fair haired family.
Children of the Limbs
This picture just freaks me out!
this picture is freaking awesome. soo much potential!
I do really hope that they are just exhausted from a draining, fun and long family vacation and they aren’t always that unhappy looking!
Oh man! This is creepy!! This ranks right up there w/ the “Twilight Zone” family pic from awhile back and Jennifer’s “awkward baby photo”. There should be warnings on some these pics about scaring the heck about us!!
i was just about to say they look like the children of the corn.
BAND PHOTO!!!!
Yep. Definitely british pop. Morose little girl is the lead. I’d buy the album.
This is just CREEPY. I keep expecting one of those kids to say “He wants you, TOO…MALACHI!!!” Brrrrrr!!!!
I think the little girl on the right is trying to steal my soul.
Aren’t wood nymphs usually more spritely?
They all look so “board”
You “wood” be too out!
Let’s hope they put some roots down and branch out to new endeavors!
I think you’re barking up the wrong….oh, never mind.
Let’s just LEAVE it at that.
Oh come on, leaf it alone.
I’m leaving…
Good. Two’s company, TREES a crowd!
They don’t look very happy
Children of the Corn.
OK – are these people really trying to look this creepy?
Don’t everybody smile at once now…
Oh, what a tangled branch we weave…
The artist has drawn five human figures in this woodland scene. How long will it take you to find them?
Jeepers Christmas!
I thought those folk only came out at night. Beware, unwary travelers…
This one truly has to be photoshopped, the proportions are totally out of whack!!!
I was going to scold you for bringing up photoshop but thought I would take another look. These people really are all out of whack with the proportions…adds to the creep-factor.
I don’t see that. It could be the product of a wide angle lens and the fact that each family member is a different distance from the lens. What a riveting shot, too! Creepy!
Probably what happened is the little girl is a lot closer to the camera than the others (you can tell that the tree she’s sitting on is really angled toward the camera). The photographer shot at a small aperture to get everyone in focus and that’s what gave it it’s ‘special’ (aka creepy!) look.
a woodland sprite!
Two days after this photo was taken the parents mysteriously disappeared and the children moved into the cornfield.
Sooo…this is a 1973 family band and this is the cover of their first album?
I am more terrified of the blond girl than I have ever been of anything in my life.
Ever.
I’m the little blond girl almost 30 years later. I’m loving the comments on this!!!
Why so glum, little elf people?
the forest is disappearing all around them!
I don’t know why but this response cracked me up!!
Can you say “CREEPY”
Amen!
Either this shot has an amazingly skewed sense of depth, or else the little girl is larger than the father. Wonderfully awkward even without the mopey faces!
Children of the Corn go hiking
Yikes! The depth of field on this does strange things to the size of the subjects! That little girl looks ginormous compared to the others!
I was just gonna comment on that myself!
The blonde Adam’s Family.
But I LIKE this photo! I think it is actually quite beautiful. A Tim Burton quality to it, if you will.
Yeah, this is a really well executed photograph. The lighting is amazing.
I was thinking the same thing! It’s got a very retro cool feel to it..I love it!
Ahh yes. Forced to go out into the woods to build character.
The Children of the corn have gotten lost in the magical forest where happiness goes to die…how awkward.
perfecto!
This Looks More Like A Public Service Announcement
Yeah, looks to me like the thrill is gone . . . if it ever was there in the first place.
Oh no…these people are ecstatic…can’t yout tell?
This is the promotional poster for the next Lemony Snickett movie.
Sort of has an impeding disaster “Children of the Corn” feel to it ………
This is just amazing!
