  1. Diane says:

Freud would have a field day with this one.

  2. Bleah! says:

It’s not so much that everyone’s in their underwear that’s disturbing, but
where do you hide your compound bow???

  3. DB says:

At least everyone was wearing underwear that day.

  4. Gordon says:

This whole family apparently never read “The Emporer’s New Clothes”

  5. Melissa says:

Man, you guys are a bunch of prudes. Yeah, its awkward if you are 14 or so, but its UNDERWEAR! If this had been at the beach there would be no issue.

Personally I find it funny as hell. I would send it out as a Holiday card just to make people feel awkward.

  6. magillicuddy says:

    one word : yikes.

  7. Tom says:

Break time at the weekly Family Strip Poker Game Night. “Hey – somebody grab a camera and take a picture before Grandma loses again!”

  8. BellaFitz says:

None of these people must have political aspirations. Can you imagine this photo leaking out during a campaign? LOL

  9. seano says:

I know what’s going on!!! This is actually great-grandma’s surprise 99th birthday, and any minute now she is going to walk through the door…. “SURPRISE!!!!!”

  10. seano says:

It’s family games night at the Johnsons’ house: “Hey everybody! Now let’s play Twister (TM)”.

  11. lagrange says:

Please tell me this was the alternative to the “au natural” photo.

  12. Steph says:

Did anyone notice the extra arm around the waist of the second woman to the right of the photo? You can see just a peek of the top of her head ducking behind. Someone didn’t want to be apart of this family legacy, and all I can think of is why? Future generation will see this a be proud of their heritage!!!!

  13. vega says:

notice how no one is really smiling? except maybe for grandma, and that’s ever so tentatively!

  14. joan crown says:

You gotta admit…the chick on the right has abs to die for! I’m jealous.

Maybe these are the heirs to the great Fruit-0f-the-Loom empire.

  15. Mama Mc says:

Marnie would definitely not have this.

  16. Eileen says:

I think the weirdest part is that they aren’t smiling, not even a little! Maybe it’s not a family and they are the cast of a soap opera???? Wait, the one person smiling is Grandma and it’s that fake “really, everything’s okay. We’re a happy family, really we are” smile that only women of that generation can pull off.

  17. Aimeesubobjoe says:

Hey..who’s hand is on my shoulder…hhhhhhheeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy!

  18. Tricia says:

Why is no one smiling?! It’s a picture!

  19. Bernardo says:

Maybe some airline lost their luggage, and this is the best form of protest they came up with.

  20. Stacey says:

I’m going with family strip poker.

  21. Dory Dirtbag says:

So this really awkward thing happened to me tonight. I was visiting this webpage and I *swear* for a split-second I thought I saw an entire group of people, perhaps family, posing for a picture in their underwear…..OH WAIT!

  22. meri says:

Now I see why I never know if I should tell friends about this website or not.

This photo is seriously uncomfortable – for those who were in it and for those of us who now have to look at it! Geesh! WHY?

  23. Maria says:

Oh my shattered nerves!!! But WT*???? Awkwardest photo EVER.

  24. Sally says:

Uncle Milton tests his latest invention, the x-ray camera.

  25. Uncle J says:

It’s the Hane’s family, why else would you do that?

  26. Barbie says:

Do you know what’s more awkward than an awkward family photo of this magnitude?? The awkward silence afterward when everyone is standing around getting dressed.. or even more so when they all get to see the picture.

I want to know who took the picture anyway? A neighbor?

  27. Pete says:

With tensions running high, everyone agreed it would be best to keep this year’s family reunion BRIEF.

  28. Rob says:

You know the old saying: “The family that strips together, stays together…”

  29. alli says:

    WHY????? just….why?

  30. Seal says:

Where’s Lisa? I demand an explanation!

  31. Etraking says:

What tha…I mean whose idea…obviously it had…wait, it cant be real…maybe they wanted…or the boys decided…no, wait…its the grandmother she….she…or the father, yes the father…but even he…I mean the girls wouldnt have…but they did…they did…..AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

  32. Maya B says:

It’d be even more awkward if one of the guys had on womens underwear…

  33. sidekick says:

    The new Haynes comercial?

  34. Hester says:

Oh so they’re one of “those” families.

  35. Dawn says:

Be careful young men – what you see behind you is Your FUTURE

    BWHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

And other abstinence programs gone awry.

  36. RobynS8971 says:

The guy on the left didn’t check his voice mail and missed the message “be sure and wear boxers tomorrow to the reunion”…too back!

  37. Amy says:

I never really appreciated my family until now, when I reflect on the fact that they have never, ever suggested anything like this.

  38. mamacrab says:

The Grandparents looks so darned happy!

The rest of the clan just looks resigned…”well you know Gramps and Grammy…only one way to keep them happy….yes, the underwear pic…sigh…here we go again.”

Never again will I complain about our family’s photo traditions, that’s for sure!!

  39. Frank says:

Upon seeing this, I cried, “What the hell?”

  40. Teresa says:

    very weird…….

  41. eeyore19 says:

You know how they always say to picture the audience in their underwear to help you relax when giving a speech? Well, this isn’t relaxing.

  42. Steve says:

How does this idea even come up? “Hey Granddad, let’s get everyone in their underwear”

  43. M-Dub says:

bwahahaha…if only poor Jimmy on the far left had known…he probably would’ve went the boxer route that day. I guess the naked truth is awful…

  44. wombat says:

Please, please…someone say this WAS photoshopped!!!!!

    • mel says:

see scott’s reply … “Fake. Somebody used the new clothing mask in Photoshop CS4″.
Ha ha ha ha…BUT seriously i need the explanation!

  45. julie says:

I was going to say WHYYYYY???? but everyone else beat me to it.
    But really, WHY?????

  46. Annie says:

At first, my brain told me they were bathing suits and that they were standing in a hotel room. Then, it registered that they were in their underwear. It COULD be a hotel room, but most of the time those couches have stripes. Huh. Maybe they all participated in a naked mile race and decided it’d be more legal to wear their underwear for the pic? That’s the only thing I can think of. Huh. I kinda like that they’re all “real” bodies and that they all look normal, I like the imperfection of how they look.

  47. NielDLR says:

Wow, that is just ridiculous! Hahahaha. I would love to hear the story behind this. Wow, so awkward. Definitely the most awkward family photo ever.

  48. Jolae says:

Some pics should have a MANDATORY EXPLANATION!

  49. Elizabeth says:

this family make mine seem normal

  50. Scott says:

    Fake.

Somebody used the new clothing mask in Photoshop CS4.
