  2. TW says:

Nothing wrong with this picture, the girls are easy to look at, their hair looks fine, the clothes aren’t dated and the photo isn’t that bad.
Yeah the girl at the back is out of focus but in all honesty this pic does not belong on this website.

  3. Dave says:

HEY GIRL # 2 I LIVE 2 DOORS DOWN … This is way too funny

  5. Geeemommy says:

    Are these the chicken-holding girls???

  6. Patty says:

Poor Jan…it’s always about Marsha, isn’t it?

  7. Todd says:

They are cute as heck. I’ll take one, please.

  8. glasstabletop says:

ha! Again, I love the caption.

  9. Lisa says:

    Just cute!!

  10. devans00 says:

    Are those real wood elves?

  11. tracylee says:

Aren’t these the same girls who took their pet chickens to the prom?

  12. ajd says:

am I the only one that thinks it’s the same girl? looks like the same girl behind every tree, in which case, this would be an awakward picture

    • Val says:

Me! Same girl, three different poses. Otherwise it’s just a good picture, mediocre picture, and bad picture of three sisters.

      • brittany says:

i was just getting ready to say the same thing! i also think its the same girl

        • robbee says:

I can guarantee that it is not (the same girl) or i gave birth 2 extra times for nothin’… I have been asked how old my “twins” are for years! go figure, their ages are 24, 18 and 16.

  13. Crystal says:

This picture is actually cute but the fact that the girl at the back’s head is on a different angle is kind of distracting to me.

  14. Dawn says:

The Girl Scouts Stealth Cookie Patrol strikes again!

  15. Gregorian says:

It’s a subtler kind of awkward.
    An excess of “Perky”.

You’ve got to have lower key moments of awkwardnessity to contrast the more extreme posts.

  16. Etraking says:

We have had some pretty good awkward photos of late, the feline lovers and the underwear factory owning family…this one however is just cute, a bit cheesy but not at all awkward.

  17. Uncle J says:

Make ya wanta take a stroll in the forest

  18. Ron says:

H.R. Puffenstuff. The next generation. Coming this fall to FOX!

Look close between the trees. There must be a talking flute in there somewhere.

  19. Nate piper says:

Is this A deleted scene from Lord of the Rings? Where the offspring of the Ents and elves come and try to save Frodo.

  20. Overanlalyzethis says:

Lovely women in a charming photo. Nothing awkward here.

  21. Antigone says:

    foux de fa fa….

    but not terribly awkward.

  22. newsgirl151 says:

Um, I think they meant PEEK A Boo, not peak…

  23. JJ says:

The shy but beautiful forest maidens poked their heads out to inquire about who was trampling through the woods

  24. Carmen O. says:

Look! It’s a grove of girls!

  25. Maya B says:

“OK, on the count of three: 1…2…3…CHEEEEESY!”

  26. M@ says:

Blatant theft of the Flight of the Conchords’ “Foux de Fafa” video, I say.

    • Steve says:

That was the first thing that hit me when I saw this! For those not familiar with it, check youtube for “Flight of the Conchords Foux de Fafa”.

What I’m wondering is, how did they get those trees to pose in such a straight line? I bet that was awkward for them.

  27. Kathleen says:

It must have been very awkward when the photographer asked which daughter should be most in focus and which one the least.

  28. Jan says:

    This is actually really cute!

  29. laurie says:

The Big Bad Wolf just met his competition. Times three.

  30. Pete says:

ABC’s spin-off of “Men in Trees.”

  31. Tim says:

Suddenly, the cloning experiment of the Doublemint Twins went horribly wrong!

  32. bced says:

Sucks to be the sister at the back….she’s not even in focus.

  33. Ryan says:

    Not awkward.

    In any way.

  34. rwblake says:

One of these sisters is not like the others, is that why she is relegated to the blurry back position?

  35. I can’t believe this photo is even considered for posting after that cat one the other day. These ladies don’t even look awkward… just three cute sisters smiling for the camera among the trees. The cat one had naked fat people, censored only by their overweight felines!

Maybe this is just some eyebleach. If so, thank you AFP.

  36. Mister Bungle says:

~Deposits coin and lifts heavy mallet for another frustrating game of Whack-A-Teen~

  37. firebus says:

i don’t get it – where’s the peak? are the trees on a mountain or something?

  38. Amy says:

Aside from looking fake, it’s creeping me out a bit.

  39. LOLOLOL! OMG this is too funny.

  40. Shawn says:

Reminds me of the opening to the old 60′s sitcom Petticoat Junction, where the 3 girls pop up out of the water tank

  41. cadsam says:

Beautifull girls, all tree of them.

  42. Rebelle says:

    lady wood

  43. LeHarp says:

The problem with this idea, although cute in theory, is that one person ends up in EXTREME CLOSE UP and then the poor person at the end is completely out of focus, like they weren’t even supposed to be in the picture and just popped out of the shrubbery like some stalker or flasher.

    • wendy says:

I was thinking the same thing. Not sure why this belongs on this blog though.

    • Tocsnai says:

It’s called “deep focus” in Greg Toland’s cinematography, and simply “small aperture” in photography. One can take landscapes with figures in the foreground, too. No sweat.

Now, the foreshortening involved — causing people up front to look like giants — *that* should be an official awkward family photo category, I think. Lots of group shots wind up with an enormous-looking face in the front row, all out of proportion.

  44. Go Ninja Go says:

    I’ll take what’s behind door #2…

    Somebody will yell “photoshopped” in…3…2…1…

  45. SusieQ says:

I think this is actually kinda cute and no so awkward.

  46. lagrange says:

    “petticoat junction???”

  47. JJoker says:

    Helloooooooooooo Nurse(s)!!

  48. If only there was a gum called Triplemint

  49. Dory Dirtbag says:

Aww I think all of the girls are pretty. It’s still slightly awkward but their looks makes up for it.

  50. Snowrider says:

Not awkward…nice. Am I missing something?
