Behind the Awkwardness: Splash

Claire n658425205_375251_1827

This is my mom, dad and brother in Sydney. Posing on a bridge, my brother set the camera on timer, and ran back to join my parents. However, he had too much momentum and fell back into the pond.”

Claire’s brother- “Mom. Dad. You know my childhood hero was Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. Since we are in Sydney I’ve decided to honor his legacy. I will attempt to hang upside down from this rail and feed the dangerous and man-eating monsters in this pool.”

Dad- “Son, that’s a coi fish pool.”

I have a photo of myself in front of the same panel. Have to say, I prefer this “action” shot to my standard tourist pose!

I love how the parents are cracking up! :D I have almost the same picture of my youngest son when he fell backwards into a planter at Disneyland, except no one else in the picture (including the giant Chip & Dale) noticed that he’d fallen and are all posing happily. I oughta dig that picture out…
