LOL, the look on her face is awesome!

  2. CaramelCod says:

That’s hilarious! Why did she even bother being in the picture?

    So very awkward…

    • Lenore says:

Being once a teenager, I seriously doubt it was her choice. Obviously this is someone who does NOT WANT TO BE IN THE PICTURE, MOM. JEEZ.

  3. Cierra says:

If she can’t be apart of the fun, she’ll pout and ruin the picture for everyone else. That’s the spirit!!! I say they crop her out!

    • jnmcnally says:

Crop her out??? After taking all that effort to Photoshop her in??? [just kidding - I'm not claiming "Photoshop" or "first,"]

  4. DC Becca says:

The look on her face is priceless. LOVE IT. I am sure the next few photos on that roll of film had her joining in or out of the frame….but THIS photo probably captured the utter teenager funk that a day of family bonding brought out in us ALL at one time or another. It’s the photos that don’t turn out the way you envision that make you smile down life’s windy road.

  5. kandee says:

    I’m gonna call Photoshopped! (j/k)!!!

  6. Ela says:

She the one they used to climb up there. lol.

    • CarpoolMom says:

That was one of my first thoughts. She helped some of the others get up on their pilings and there’s no one left to help her up. Bummer.

  7. Jorie says:

Oh wow, anyone notice thescary statue seemingly attacking the little boy???

  8. Amen! says:

This would be a great photo if not for Debbie Downer.

  9. Tim says:

“One of these things is not like the other…”

  10. chillax says:

What I’m wondering is whose flip-flop is that in the corner?

  11. eli says:

My theory is that it’s a random lady who’s sick of tourist walking by

  12. Leslie says:

HAHA! This is pretty epic…Thanks to the Karate Kid caption esp. I am still laughing. Kudos.

  13. sallyomally says:

You can tell she’s the kid in the family that so did not want to go on the annual trip to myrtle beach….

  14. How did this picture not get submitted to Crane Kick Chronicles?

  15. Sidekick says:

Brings back memories of a few family vacations when I was a teenager. “This is soooo lame, let’s go shopping for some more souvenirs.”

  16. Jorie says:

Just curious, how do photos get into the Awkward Hall of Fame? Is it the amount of comments, response, or just the absolute awkwardness of it?

  17. Gabby says:

Looks like Dad is having a little trouble balancing on one foot . . . but it’s probably b/c he has an arm growing out of the top of his head. No wonder Mrs. Grumpypants is so embarrassed!!

  18. Chely says:

“I can’t believe I spent 15 hours driving across three states in a mini-van with those people just to look at a stupid bird statue.”

  19. ShivS says:

Her low center of gravity was to blame for the last place finish in the one footed log stand competetion. Don’t worry though, she later won the scowl off!

  20. JJ says:

I feel for this young woman leaning against the piling. Is this even more awkward because her fly is partially unzipped? Yikes.

  21. marieke says:

wow thats 2 blocks down from me!!!

  22. joyce says:

I like the way the bird on the sculpture looks like it’s landing on Dad’s arm.

  23. Laura Moncur says:

I know EXACTLY where this photo was taken. I’d recognize that scary kid/bird statue anywhere.

    Galveston Island, TX

You’ll be glad to know that the statue survived Hurricane Ike.

  24. Dianne says:

The Boy With One Black Shoe…..

  25. tln says:

I recognize the location. It’s Galveston, TX. Duuuuuude.

  26. chris says:

  27. kathleen says:

She looks like an innocent bystander who somehow got caught in this middle of this photo.
