Awkward Engagement Photos

Dear AFP Family,
When you’re in love, you want to shout it from the rooftops and when you’re engaged, well, you want to shout it to everyone you know. Thus, the awkward engagement photo. Inspired by the upcoming comedy Leap Year, starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode in theaters January 8th, we’ll be premiering a special collection of gloriously cringeworthy engagement photos on December 28th. Have a photo of you and your fiance that you think belongs? Send it in and we’ll add it to our collection! The most engaged twosome will rule the homepage together on January 8, 2010 and show the world just how far they’re willing to go to show their love. Please submit pics by December 28, 2009.

I’m going to go against the grain and say I don’t think there’s anything wrong with this picture. It might be a little cliche but that’s it’s only real offense. It’s a very sweet picuture overall.

Oh yes, the 2nd picture is very real. I know them both, and this is a legitimate engagement picture, proudly shared to the world via facebook. What a proclamation of love and class.

You guys can charge the Leap Year people for this right? I mean, I truthfully had no idea when the movie was opening, so AFP should be paid for letting me know. And I can’t wait to see what horrifically inappropriate engagement announcements this brings forth from the void.
I did not think the picture with the woman’s hands on the guy’s shoulders was awkward at all. Ah well, maybe it’s just me or else I missed something.
I don’t get it either. It’s just a nice couple in a standard pose.
Of course it wouldn’t look awkward next to the second picture!
I have seen some odd ones in the local paper, but nothing to top that!!!
The third one is weird. You’re supposed to WEAR the ring, dear.

I don’t have any problem with the first one. It’s sweet. But the second? We do not need to know what you look like when you have sex.

On the right-hand pic…At first I was looking for her legs, but now that I’ve examined it further, I think she’s a parasitic twin. For the left photo, the “let’s stare off in 2 diff directions” pose was pretty common a few yrs back. I’m a portrait photog. There’s no way I’d ever pose anyone like either of these pix.
Can anyone possibly top that second photo?

Lol, I second that comment, it looks more like a photo announcing the Bachelor party than announcing the engagment!!!
