I grew up down the street from these people, and my kid brother and I played with the 2 boys when we were about 7. I remember seeing that picture in there house. Those were some weird times!
You can barely see it in the background on the left hand side of the picture…but it is the box the dummy gets put back into after the photo is taken…..FAIL !!!
I think the photographer is brilliant! I worked in a portrait studio for 7 years and I pride myself in creating awkward memories this this one.
There’s only one human being in this picture, the girl; her family are just one giant dummy made of four smaller dummy’s glued together. When she squeezes daddy’s arm everybody’s mouth opens, including hers… because she is of course spectacularly insane.
this is amazing
This one made me laugh uncontrollably…the little kid in the middle looks so happy, and why not? His parents hold him above his siblings!
those kids all look easily over 40
haha I know them. I happen to be related to them
The lil boy on the left looks exactly like my ex-husband when he was that age. I sent this photo to him with the caption “You have a twin.” He wrote back wanting to know who they were because the “Mom” looks alot like his brother. Its all too weird.
not gonna I’m kinda freaked out by this picture… Why are they all so scary? The boys look a little possessed! :S
it would be over the top if either the mother or father were drinking a glass of water
I’m digging the blue striped socks on the dummy!
O.M.G. I think this may be my most favorite bit of awkwardness yet.
poor kids! they should make the parents put the same clothes on for a picture to punish them for making the kids dress like that. So sad!
Way to go little pre-teen girl for rocking it out with the “dress shorts”. I had at least 5 pairs of these wonders ranging in black linen to green velvet (for the Christmas holidays). Oh yes, we knew how to dress in the 80′s.
There is a woman I work with that still wears them today. She has several pairs with matching jackets and dyed to match shoes. I may keep a Pat Benatar headband in my desk from now on and when I see her styling back to the 80′s, I’ll join her. Hit me with your best shot.
FTW!!
hahahahahahaha
Fire away!
The kid on the left is dressed like Pee-Wee Herman. Too bad he doesn’t have dark hair and the bowtie’s not red!
That one in the middle is a ventriliquist dummy.
Thanks for pointing that out Schmidty.
I think that one in the middle is Michael Dunn from the TV show “The Wild Wild West”.
I’m loving lil’ man on the left with the bowtie.
I know!! To me he looks like mini Woody Harrelson
This happily joyfully ultra conservative arrangement is identical to every one of the pictures in my church family phone directory.
Bingo!
so your family’s the same
“The dummy’s the talent!”
Their glasses could double as safety goggles.
the kid in the center looks almost exactly like the little brother from a christmas story.
Bitchin’ socks with the kid’ suit.
OK, there is so much wrong with this picture. But, why can’t I stop looking at that kids socks. Really? Put him in a suit & tie, but then don’t match his socks and shoes. Then on top of that, let them show in the picture. Just weird.
These people were photographed by a near-sighted chimp with a camera and it’s the *socks* that bother you?
why am I still logged in here?
No, no that’s just not right. Not right at all.
Wow! The mom looks sooo much like my aunt who passed last year. We didn’t know anyone on her side of the family. I don’t know if she had a sister.
Normal photo from the waists up!
“I’m not a dummy – you’re a dummy!”
Jeff Dunham: The Early Years
It wasn’t funny then and he’s still not funny today. But all those years of playing as daddy’s ventriloquist resulted in a lot of pent up anger, thus giving birth to the catch phrase, “I keeell you!”
Love it!
“Ahlalalalalalala!” *explosion*
oh my
yikes.
I am scream-laughing.
Mom smacks herself for thinking that Puppet’s shoes socks wouldn’t show in the family photo.
My, that is awkward…..
Looks like a family ventriloquist act. Amazing how they got the sidekick to look exactly like the son. Uncanny! Edger Bergen, eat your heart out!
nICE CULOTTES, AND PEARLS.
Aw I think I looked like this at that age and I would have been sure the culottes and pearls made me look fabulous. Pity one leg of her lovely culottes has got jammed awkwardly in her crotch though.
Sorry Mary, that was NOT you in the picture. I’m not sure who the other people are or how I got into the picture with them but that is definitely a picture of me when I was 12. Why oh why would parents who love their child let her walk out the door that way?
This is a sign of a really bad photographer.
ukranians!
LOL! Perfect!
