omg… that’s the highschool my sister goes to XD that’s a virginia school
Now all the ladies will know just how cool we really are.
This is from my High School, Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville, VA!! I was in the marching band… many years after this picture I assume and our outfits werent THIS bad!!!
HA!
I went to LVHS (GO VIKES!) in the late 70s and wore this horrid uniform when I was in marching band. There’s a giant, faux white fur hat that goes with the ensemble. The uniforms were made of wool and the hats were plastic. It was nice when it was cold, but we marched in the warm weather too…and sweated…like animals!
Is this from Loudon Valley High in Loudon County Virginia? Anyone know? One of my schools rivals haha.
This IS LVHS… I assume you went to County?
I know these guys; grew up with them. I went over to their house two months ago; the younger, who’s about 16 now, played his accordion for me.
hahah Loudoun County High School, this county has changed a LOT in the past 30 years
If this is in Loudoun, Va in the late 70′s I’d say these are the two best looking farmers in the county at the time.
Just goes to show, your never to old to be a BAND NERD!
As I tell people looking at pictures of all of us who survived that era…”It was the ’70′s.. I’m sorry.”
70′s photography. Not full color, not black and white, but somehwere awkwardly inbetween.
Y’know, I seem to recall, in college at least, that the band geeks were rivaled only by the frat boys and sorority girls for gettin’ some.
so they were pre 80′s … before their time….but they knew their stuff in the early 80′s….. knew quite a few that looked like them…. yes, they got their nookie and then some….
I know these men. They got the Nookie…..don’t you worry……they got the Nookie.
Hehehehehehehehe!
The caption did it, and you made it better!
I don’t even know where to go with this…it’s…umm…what’s the word…hmmm…sort of…well you know…like…
hilarious!?!
This is the best caption ever!
The first time they used it was better.
That’s what I was thinking when I saw the caption. When it was used for the accordian geek was awesome!
Hey, I know this guy! His nickname was Heckelbong and he was an awesome dude !!!!!!
We were in band together and I actuall have an awful picture of me in my band uniform too……………
most all “band geeks” have an awful picture in uniform. Ours had the beautiful white plume things on the hats
Hall & Oates before the mustaches…
Not awkward, perhaps, so much as unfortunate. But aren’t MOST 80′s photos unfortunate???
This was taken in 1978.
They may have 99 problems but it’s a safe bet a b**** ain’t one.
Hahaha!
Am I the only person that sees Eric Stoltz as Rocky Dennis in that picture?
That was my very first thought too!
You think that hair is awkward, you ought to see it when they crawl out of bed in the mornings!
Do tell.
Where is this school? I went to Loudoun Valley, in purcellville, VA. Is this from there, or somewhere else?
Yes it’s LVHS – circa 1978
Pville represent!
omg, how cool…I’m so going to have to share this
Haha, my husband went to LVHS and my stepson goes there now.
Too funny! I went to Broad Run High and Loudon County High!
lvhs graduate class of 09…this makes me happy to know that the band outfits were just as awkward 32 years ago…
AW, I was a band geek too–long ago. The marching season was the pits.
I don’t get why this is awkward. It is simply a moment in time. By these standards every photo over 15 years old is awkward. Maybe I’m just a band geek.
Maybe there has been too much controversy lately so they have gone for boring and bland?
Admittedly I wasn’t in band, but is it customary to do a picture with a sibling in your band uniforms?
this one time? at band camp?
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
And this one time, at band camp…
This one time… in band camp…
Uh, Dude, is that a piccolo in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
In case any of you were wondering where Nick Cannon drew his inspiration from for “Drum Line”…
dude, i told you. this is so much better than the math club. at least we get to wear these totally awesome, radical, stereophonic uniforms!
This is priceless! They look like Brady Bunch wannabees.
Excuse me… the entire decade of teens were Brady Bunch wannabees (or Alice Cooper Wannabees).
That quote makes this picture… love it.
Yay marching band!!
In before first American Pie reference
Aren’t those the Manning brothers?
LMAO!!!
And they kind of look similar too!
OMG, that was my very first thought too!! LOL
Trust me, dude, chicks dig a guy in uniform. This is gonna get us so much tail!!
I wonder if those braces help him play the English horn.
hahahahahaha thats great
