I printed this photo and put it on my desk at work because not only is the look on her face funny, but that little boy with his back to the camera was not getting his picture taken – and that was his solution. Hysterical. I just want to hug him and tell him it’s going to be okay.

Wow, a flashback from my moms remarriage. I had the same exact look on my face, but my head was just a little lower. Not often caught on camera, but a reality for many children. It is rare but possible that a step parent could love a child as their own, but unfortunately not always the case.

What did he have your bags packed and you were out the door or what? Why is the little one wanting to get inside it seems and not being let in? This is heartbreaking! I am from a blended family, but I lucked out with a great step dad who adopted me as his own daughter. If I was a mother of children and was remarrying, I would have to have my kids blessings first. Permanent family members should include the whole family. That’s my over-analysis for the day. Feel bad for the kiddos here though. Makes me want to go rescue them.

This is what most kids feel like when their parents remarry it is just these kids let it show! Everyone else someone told them to keep it to themselves…….Way to go Melaina and your brother for just saying screw it we don’t want this to happen!
