Jennifer has been spending a lot of time on her computer lately.

This is how we dance on sprokets… Do you want to touch my monkey?
My name is Deiter.
ok…i was never the best dressed guy in school, but at least i knew how to iron my pants and polish my shoes.
This picture looks like the ’80s version of one of those Twilight movies, complete with the brooding looks.
Loving these comments!Lol!
I can’t believe I gave my panties to a geek!
My brother paid a dollar to see your panties..
Yet another proof-point to me that the 1980s were the worst decade since the Great Depression.
thumbs down! the 80’s were AWESOME! The clothes, the music, they hairstyles…I’d do it all again.
Same here! I’m still in the 80’s!
The music hasn’t CHANGED since the ’80s. We had a brief respite during the 90s, but now it’s back to the mall-rat mechanized disco beat crap.
Well, the economy sure was better in the ’80s than during the Depression! Or were you talking about the clothes?
The economy was terrible in the 80’s. Google “regonomics” and “stagflation” and “trickle down economics”. The national debt went crazy out of control and was only reigned back in with Clinton and the 90’s
Looks like Pretty in Pink with Molly Ringwald….
or Breakfast Club…..
She just couldn’t decide between Depeche Mode and Duran Duran.
HAHAHA! Great comment!
Welcome to Sprockets, I am Dieter and this is the part where we dance.
From SNL, right? hahaha.
YES. Would you like to touch my monkey?
That pink paper castle sets off her dress.
‘Sun-in’ – the curse of 80’s teenagers everywhere
“Lost Boys: Beginnings”
Am I the only person who liked the 80s fashions? I loved my grad dress (85). I like this gal’s dress! and Mr.2tone makes me what to find my old record collection and put Duran Duran’s Rio on…
You (and I) missed the memo that says whatever you wear, you have to hate it in 15-20 years. I remember how horrid the fashion from the ’60s and ’70s seemed in the ’80s (I’m also grad ’85). In 2030 people will be horrified by the hair and clothing worn today. It is the way of things.
These “Guidos” were ready to have a fist pumping good time. No one told them “three’s a crowd”.
Three words – Pet Shop Boys (only true 80s teens will understand)
West. End. Girls.
I think the guy on the right is her brother (look at them closely – similar faces) and the guy on the left is his boyfriend. She is the cover date because he hasn’t come out to mom and dad yet. So she got to go to the dance, and bro got a date with his boyfriend. I really think it’s funny that she has more facial hair than he does though.
They blinded me with highlights!
Aww, look at that – someone found Wham’s first publicity photo!
OMG! That is funny! Loved Wham.
what’s hhhappening, hhhot stuff???
I actually read that with the accent. And then laughed 🙂
This looks like Pretty in Pink the sequel, the girl, the geek and the stud…love triangle at it’s best…”isn’t she pretty in pink!”
“They’re all going to laugh at you!”
Nice, but wrong decade. 🙂
No one has said anything about the weird hair like thing in the pink tower on the right….what the heck!!!! Is it supposed to be Rapunzels hair or something??? Weird.
Whoa, crazy, I missed that the first pass. You’re right, either that, or it’s the short kid’s date that he just kicked to the curb with those pointy boots for smiling at the cameraman…
I’m sad to say that, where I live, the girl’s ‘do is still popular. Usually with bank tellers, for some reason.
You just know Cory Hart is blaring in the background and for her Birthday Hairclub took her to see Wham…
Truly awkward in every way.
from my heart and from my hands, why don’t people understand my intentions?
I think this is more pretty in pink…LOL The blonde guy looks like he may have watched warlock one time to many he’s trying to control us all w/ his mind!!
I’m so gonna go on netflix and put weird science at the top of my queue haven’t seen it in YEARS!
I could go on and on about the promgoers but you guys have got them covered. But, dammit, was the prom decoration budget over $5?? WHO decided on the “celestial princess” theme and made those horrible props?
Ok, I’ve got it. The two-toned hair guy is the date, but the other guy is his “bodyguard”…you know—that kid who ran with the popular guy, punched the people who dared make a bad comment about the two-toned hair, etc. So he gets to go to the prom stag, if only to defend the hair and possibly her shoes.
You mean, the “lackey” – It’s what I thought too 🙂
Weird Science is a great 80’s movie in which two boys (similar to the ones shown) make a woman with their computer……..
$100 says the guys are holding hands behind Mindy Ringwold’s back.
OMG ~ you’re SO right!
Ah yes, Mindy Ringwald, never quite as famous as her sister Molly.
Every bit as ambitious and dedicated to her craft, only her movies never did quite make it:
The Tea Time Bunch
14 Easter Eggs
Attractive in Coral
It reminds me of the little girl a couple of days ago (see: Behind The Awkwardness: The Remarriage). Still in a horrible pink dress and a bad haircut. This time her little borther is facing forward and she’s also posed with one of her “new” step-brothers…
oops – brother
The pink princess castle rocks.
It’s AWKWARD versions of Duckie, Andie and Blane….
“His name is BLANE??! That’s not a name, that’s a major appliance!” I love Duckie.
I know all the John Hughes movies by heart. RIP, Mr. Hughes. You made my awkward adolescent years in the mid-80’s more bearable (and hilarious).
Love the Capezios on full-on-blondie. I had a pair – they scuffed easily. 🙂
Jon Cryer was a genius as Duckie!
I know I’m getting old when “Weird Science” is not familiar to people. God, I loved that movie!
It is more like 19scary7…..I graduated in 87 and what a scary fashion time that was.
Everybody sing along,
if you leave, don’t leave now
please don’t take my heart away…
Promise me, just one more night.
Then we’ll go our seperate ways…
Seven years/Went under the bridge/Like time was standing still…
It’s my creation! LOL!!!
Is it real?
Dude on the left looks like he’s from the Matrix …. or wants to be ….
The dude on the left looks prestty cool – til you hit the shoes. Ugh, man. Clean the mud off ’em before you go out.
…or polish ’em…either way…dude, you’re going to a formal dance
Actually, he looks like he just got done burying something out in the woods – better leave that mud on for forensics
I almost spit my drink. Best comment!
I gotta say, I would take Pimplehead over Duacolorhair. Girl, you NEED a new hairstyle. I would love to hear the “Behind the Awkwardness” story on this one!
You brought tears to my eyes. Pimplehead.
I’m betting this is 1987 because that’s the year I got married (child bride and all) and my poor bridesmaids had somewhat similar long dresses in “dusty rose”. Those hairstyles were popular then, too.
It was a bad year to marry (or attend a school dance) fashion-wise and I never display the photos. And no, you can’t see them.
LOL! So true about the attire giving away the date! I work for a caterer, and recently worked at a party were the hostess was trying to pass herself off as MUCH younger. Say 20 years younger. Then I saw her wedding photo and she in all of her Princess Diana glory and I KNEW EXACTLY what year she got married in!
Oh, busted! Too funny.
Yes, indeed, the Princess Di Effect. Let’s just say I had a very long train.
Oh PLEASE! PLEASE send them in! They sound like a TOTAL must see! I just love the 80’s they totally crack me up and we all thought we were so cool, didn’t we??? With our big hair and nails, LOL!
Nooo, I really don’t want to go to the prom with my brothers!
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m Team Highlights, not Team Blonde Guy.
I’m Team Highlights too! 🙂
I like Team Blonde Guy..
ROTFLMAO! GOOD ONE
I’m Team Decorations Committee!
I think Team Blonde is for Team Highlights
Variety is the spice of life.
that’s just slightly horrifying…
Oh, I think we know who the date is really with.
Hehe, yes – yes we do.
I don’t get it?
Oh the two toned hair!! I bet he has a duck tail too! Penny’s in his loafers?
And her pumps, the white, white, pumps of the 80’s….horrors!
And the third wheel?? Their chaperone?
