In Australia, where everything is upside down, this is how we ride horses. We even have upside down saddles. Of course we don’t go very far but, falling off never hurts.
THey a braided to keep her mane from tangling.I is easier to maintain a mane this way. I also have a mustang gelding with a 3foot long mane that stays braided. It promotes growth and helps to keep it from breaking
Oh come on people…Why do some of you always have to spoil the fun of something so innocent??? Get your minds out of the gutter…Are you Jealous??? Get a life!!!
Inappropriate or whatever, the horse apparently doesn’t seem to mind it. You tighties need to loosen up. The horse is healthy and isn’t on Animal Planet’s Houston Police. That horse is bigger than her and if it didn’t want to do it, it wouldn’t. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.

Ok so a friend sent this to me, THis is ME AND MY HORSE Native Rosie.
and to all you people out there who know NOTHING of horses, or think this is dangerous, or I’m having sex with my MARE…get a life. It takes HOURS of trust and training to allow a horse to do this. There is no struggle, I ask her to roll over and she does. But it didn’t happen over night, it took months to do this safely. I am SO proud that I was able to train my horse to do this and that she trusts me enough to do this. I have had plastic bags around her, tarps, fireworks, you name it. She has been desensitized to the max. She has been in several parades, Including the 2010 Rose parade!
I broke her to ride, drive, smile, lay down, roll over, and sit. I was offered $20,000 for this mare because all she is trained to do. The movie people love her!
Google ‘Tommy Turvey’ that is where I got this inpiration to do this with my horse. Here check out the Haflinger Breed Demo at the Equine affaire 2010 this year, a video of me laying her down and rolling her over. To a horse person, this is amazing because you know what a neat and hard feat this truely is. http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/view_shared?p=a67751a353fc7df986cbc2&skin_id=701
And yes, I braid all my horses manes and tails to keep them from getting tangled, and their tails stay in bags to protect them from breaking and the mares urinating on them. I love my hairy horses
OMG Yes Rosie is a mare, and who cares if it was a stallion?? Do you people not know horses at all? A stallion wouldn’t tolerate you ‘doing him’ while he is on his back. good god and I am dressed! Hello…in plain daylight and my sister took the picture. You people are soo dirty minded. and OBviously do NOT own horses.
OMG if a horse lets me do this it isn’t trust??? then what is it? She is 900lbs more than me and I can’t MAKE a horse do this. YOUR just jealous you can’t do this with your horses I guess. This took months of hard work, hours of training and yes, working on trust. And this mare has had more ’stimulus’ than you can account for. You don’t know the whole story, so back off. sheesh.
Jennifer, great job! You must have put a lot of work into the training of this beautiful mare. I have a question: It’s obvious you are proud of her, so why did you submit this picture to Awkward Family Photos?
I did NOT submit this picture!! Someone stole it and a friend of mine saw it and told me about it. I have never even heard of this website before she showed me this.
im impressed i rodeo and have horses and i have a horse that is train to do tricks to he will pick up my rope of the ground he will bow and count it takes lots of work i thinks its cool
This is a remarkable feat of training & trust, and not so much dangerous as a calculated risk for a professional (which Jennifer seems to be). Having said that, some of the comments–centaur, Australia–are still pretty funny! Human nature is what it is, Jennifer, so try to lighten up & learn to laugh at yourself a little; anyone who knows a thing about horses will still recognize your skill.
Yes very true…just gets OLD when it is turned to a sexual induendo. lol. Usually though, from NON horse people who don’t have a clue as to how much time it takes to actually achieve something like this

Save a cowboy, ride a horse.
Bwwaahhahahahha
O.O
I love the history reference!
I agree. I’m sure many other viewers had the same thought that I do.

ha!!
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Yikes!
Ummmm, yeah.
Why does the horse have dreadlocks??I know there are so many other things to take in,but whats up?
Um…they are braids, not dreadlocks…lol
They are competition bows, not dreadlocks. (durr!)

My thoughts exactly
that is unbelievably dangerous.

wonder if she paid good money to become a belly dancer
The horse is fake duh.
LOL Not hardly, this mare I’ve owned for 6 years and is very real.
..if it was a whisper…wth did she say?
More than a little…lol
Oh come on people…Why do some of you always have to spoil the fun of something so innocent??? Get your minds out of the gutter…Are you Jealous??? Get a life!!!

broke horse back riding. must have gotten the words mixed up.
Ignore the danger of the situation- it’s a consenting adult. Where is your sense of humor?

Your doing it wrong!
You have no idea how badly my life is going right now. Someone posted these on fb and now I cannot stop laughing. This is truly a lifesaver.
An alpha roll for a horse. The Horse Whisperer would be proud..
Awkward, yes. Family Photo?
She does look strangely happy though.

Just how is this disturbing? do you have horses?
HOW in the world is this inappropriate?
Heck of a lot more stable than dating a man that is for sure. At least Rosie doesn’t get mad when I don’t call her everyday. LOL

Awesome! That really takes some work and dedication for a horse do that!
