That must be the camels at the KC Zoo….lol I saw them doing the exact same thing over the summer last year. I told my kids they were playing leapfrog…lol

  2. Lin says:

holy crap!!! its going to spit!

  3. Hebrew Hammer says:

What brand do you think they smoke after they finish?

    1 hump or 2?

  4. kim says:

wow. camels have that really dignified look on their faces even when doing it.

  5. Bearkitten Sundeen says:

Go to any zoo in the spring and this is what all the animals are doing. I remember my cousin asking if the animals were “fighting.” I let his Dad explain that. Great timing to catch it on film. Oh, the days before the digital delete button.

  6. Anna says:

Since you can tell Dromedary camels from Bactrian camels by how many humps they have, what kind of camels are in this picture? Based on hump count? 1+1=3 right?

  7. maribeth says:

Look kids! This is how we get little camels!

  8. Boppie says:

Meanwhile, the camels are fighting about why Monsieur Camel couldn’t wait until after dark, or at least until Madame Camel (because I think they have French accents) had reached some screening palm trees in the camel enclosure. They are disgusted by how humans are insensitive voyeurs, and are worrying that pictures of their intimate moments might already be posted on some creepy site on the internet…

Maybe Ralph and Debra aren’t lame and humorless people, but rather sapient camels who have learned how to type…?

  9. Sydney says:

LOL this reminds of my last trip to the zoo! Except in that case it was hyenas getting busy…

  10. taino sam says:

oh look…the “petting” zoo at the Playboy Mansion…..how cute…

  11. Steph says:

It’s just hilarious how animals have, like, ZERO concerns about privacy. I don’t know about you guys, but this picture’s pretty awkwaaaaaaaard…

Now, as an amateur photographer, this photo could be salvageable! If it’s a digital photo, simply crop the camels out of the shot, and voila! Instantly less awkward. But then it wouldn’t be funny.

  12. Freak Speely says:

I just LOL at the expressions on the camel’s faces. xD They just don’t give a DAMN!

And to all you whining…THIS photo is the EPITOME of awkward; what are you complaining for?! Camels having sex in a family picture…just *typing* that sounds awkward! LOL

  13. Tim says:

“OK, look at the camera, kids…”
“Hey, Dad – what are the camels doi…”
    “LOOK AT THE CAMERA! NOW!!”

  14. amyjorob says:

I guess you have to do something to distract the kids so that awkward conversations don’t ensue!!!

  15. cme says:

am i the only one who thinks this guy looks like Sayid??

  16. Tim says:

Awwww. Isn’t that cute… they’re wrestling. Silly camels.

  17. egeria says:

    Hey, it’s Alice the camel!!!

    :D

    E.

  18. Debra says:

Really? Awkward photo? NO…what do you think happens at the zoo…time has expired afp…photos are getting lame!

    • Steph says:

Wow. Excellent critique, Deb. I’m sure the site creators are rushing around to shut things down now that your expert (if devastating) opinion has been expressed. Which is a shame, too, since all of us laypeople (without sticks up our nether regions) do so enjoy a good laugh at these pictures.

      • Debra says:

I can see you now…hahaahaha the camels are doing it…hahahaha…you are right…I bet you laugh at when someone burbs and passes gas too…

        • carol says:

You’re not laughing, so you don’t want anyone else to? People have difference senses of humor. Maybe you’ll laugh at a different one that someone else wont think is funny. Would you want people to jump down your throat? Lighten up.

I’m fairly certain requirements are met for 1-7, although Ralph may say only #8.
      :)

    • Minnie says:

What’s NOT awkward about this pic? Oh I know, “It’s just a family having fun, this isn’t awkward, I hate you AFP!” Right? Grow a sense of humor…

    • SlackJack says:

      Are you related to Ralph?

      • Jeannie says:

How is this NOT awkward? It is my hope that someone that was just a passerby, with a sick sense of humor, said “Hey! Do you need me to take a picture of your lovely family?” and mumbling under their breath “Hahahahaha! Wait until they see this one!” Apparently, that is MY sense of humor. . .oh, how embarrased am I??? LOL

    • Spritely says:

OK, you repeated yourself, so I will, too.

Yes, Debra, I always try to include animals having sex in ALL of my family photos. It just makes them come alive, dontchaknow.

Have you met Ralph? You two are made for each other. You can go off together and tell each other all the things that AREN’T funny, and how much BETTER you are than everybody else. Most importantly, you will leave the rest of us alone.

  19. PugMom says:

I was relieved seeing 2 camels doing Humpback Mountain I was afraid it would be a ballet picture featuring Camel Toe :D

  20. Uncuw Biww says:

And afterward, the camels both smoked a cigarette and went home.

  21. binkymae says:

    Look Sammy, camel humps.
    Look Daddy, camels hump.

  22. Dusty says:

All I can sing is that Black Eyed Peas Song…”My humps….”

  23. Joanna says:

    *sings*
    Uh huh…whoa yeah…talkin’ about Hump-phrey the camel…

  24. Suz says:

I see nothing awkward about this photo. Sure, the Dad and the kid on his shoulder aren’t looking at the camera but that doesn’t make it awkward. Really now, this site *is* beginning to go downhill with the photos they post.
What? The camels doing it in the background? Err, nevermind ;-) ;-)

    • Debra says:

Amen! This is a realllly STUPID picture…what…are the camels suppose to do??! ‘get a room’ ?? IT IS THE ZOO FOLKS! The grown man is actually LAUGHING … good lord, grow up

      • Suz says:

I think the sarcasm in my post kind of went over your head. I think this is a wonderfully awkward photo :)

      • Spritely says:

Yeah, I always try to include animals having sex in ALL my family photos. It just brings them to life, dontchaknow.

Debra, have you met Ralph? I think you are made for each other.

  25. John says:

Because sometimes having one hump just isn’t enough.

  26. carol says:

I love this photo! If I was the mom (taking the picture?) in this family, I’d frame it and hang it on the wall. Well, maybe not. But maybe.

  27. lavagirl says:

*singing* doing it in the park doing it after dark oh yeah,,,, :) Great pic!

  28. Lou says:

    BEST. CAPTION. EVAH!!

  29. Ralph says:

I’m out. I love the awkward photos as much as anybody, and I’m no prude, but showing animals having sex crosses the line. This borders on bestiality.

    Bye.

    • J R says:

really Ralph? Bestiality ?? But it’s okay for pics of awkward teenage boys with raging erections or wet spots on the front of their pants? You are a moron.

    • Bec says:

      you are kidding right???
      buh bye.

    • lavagirl says:

*scratching my head* are you serious?????? Animals have sex too… AND out in the open, its not the photographers fault that they were doing it as she was taking a pic of her family…. LOLOLOLOL

    • ckirk says:

Seriously? Wow. So you’ve been ok all this time with the almost nude photos of women on here? (yep, there have been a few) But a picture of an innocent family with camels in the background having sex (where you can’t even see anything “dirty”) offends you? Okie dokie…

    • LightenUp says:

Methinks ol’ Ralph here doesn’t know what the words bestiality or prude mean because this isn’t bestiality (sexual relations between a person and an animal) but Ralph *is* a prude (one who is excessively concerned with being or appearing to be proper, modest, or righteous). It’s not like the dad has the boy lined up to be next.

We’re better off without ya, Ralph.

    • Boppie says:

THIS is where you draw the line?!?!? After everything we’ve been through together, including the one with a GIRL riding a HORSE not two days ago? You’re a little delicate, Ralph. You might need a nap…

    • iLOLd says:

      Your rant borders on rational.

    • Minnie says:

WOW are you serious? GEEZ! Lighten up buddy, this site is for jokes. And yeah, you are a prude.

    • scruffy says:

Aw Ralphie. Where’s the harm? Everyone’s happy. Dad’s smiling. The kids are smiling. The camels are smiling.

      • Steph says:

Literally. I see a self-satisfied grin on the one on top, I swear.

But seriously. Ralph here doesn’t own a dictionary, poor man. He doesn’t know what bestiality means. Poor Ralph and his empty, dictionary-less world.

        • Morgan says:

I wanted to point out the expressions on the camels too- the one on top looks practically SMUG! And they are both smiling!!! :D

    • brashchic says:

ummmm ralph are you sure youre okay there?? i think its only bestiality if you get “aroused” by it…sure youre not leaving to go HANDle your business?? ease up, dude, it is definately an awkward pic, but whats even more awkward is the fact you would think about human/animal sex after looking at this photo!! now THATS awkward…

  30. kiki says:

Is this in Kansas City? At the KC Zoo? I think I was there that day and took a photo of the same camels doing the same thing (sans awkward family, of course)

    • brittani says:

man, does that camel area always play marvin gaye on the radio there or what?? that’s like the 4th comment I’ve seen about that, HAHAHAHAH!!

  31. What??? says:

What does that guy from “LOST” have that kid on his head?

  32. scott says:

I think you mean, Humpback Mountin’

  33. tootsie says:

lol i hope that little boy brings this picture in for show-and-tell. “Look! I went to the Zoo over the weekend!”

  34. pixiebiba says:

Wow I’ve heard about those two headed camels…

  35. me says:

    - Daddy are those camels playing leapfrog or something.
    - Uh…yes…or something.

  36. rebelle says:

    I’d walk a mile for a camel!

  37. Hebrew Hammer says:

I’d walk a mile not to ride one of those

  38. chilaxx says:

Think this is part of the opening credits on Dirty Jobs…

  39. amanda says:

This is when we’d say, “Oh those camels are giving each other piggy back rides!” ;)

  40. chris says:

Dad looks like he totally is aware what is going on behind him, but I love how the boy in blue looks like he thinks he’s just showing off his new toy for the photo.

  41. Don says:

The old slogan ” I’d walk a mile for a camel” rings true…at least for the one on top

  42. uhhh..whups says:

SOMEBODY STOP THOSE CAMELS!!! They’re using sex to advertise smoking to that family!

  43. Rick says:

In New York, that would be a freakin ticket for double parked!

  44. dangermom says:

…wow. Being a camel looks kind of difficult.

  45. Kelly says:

LOL! Is Dad pointing to them and speaking to someone off camera?? I love the look on his face – he’s totally cracking up. :)

  46. The Kid says:

This is just AWESOME! I love the zoo.

  47. Joey says:

Sometimes a 24 hour exhibit ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.

  48. Emma says:

Aside from the camels, is one of the boys holding an otter figurine?

  49. ckirk says:

Ha ha ha!! I love they’re getting a picture taken in front of it like it’s no big deal. “Time for the picture by the camels!”

  50. Miss M says:

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen those same camels…uh…enjoying some not-so-private time.
    KC zoo?
