My favorite part is the family portrait… In the family portrait! Whoa, das ca-razy.
That’s the mom staring at her wrist? I thought it was one of the kids! O.o
I think this is a great picture and getting them all posed and looking good, is a chore in itself! It could be a magazine ad.
This is a family trying to show off how great they are by the “look how busy we all are” picture. It is a subtle way of saying “Little Jimmie is in the band, Timmy is in Soccer, Little Tina is a Dancer, etc..

This looks like they are about to play Family Feud. Any moment now the announcer will introduce them and they will all run down to begin the game.
So the mom is given no credible excuse for why she would be forgetting her youngest child other than being distracted by the shiny object on her wrist?
What is that box next to the baby?
What the hell is it that the dad is holding?
And are they all rushing to these things at 7:25AM or 7:25PM?

I like this picture but have a question. So son 1 is in marching band, daughter is in ballet, son 2 is in soccer, dad is a photographer (I guess), but what is mom? A beekeeper? Chef at some off-the-wall pseudo-chic cafe? Mime? What??

Why is everyone getting that the dad is a photographer or getting pix developed out of the fact that he’s carrying an obvious set of dental X-rays? I get that he’s either on the way to a dental appt. or IS a dentist himself.
If the photo is from the ’80s, maybe mom is just dressed as an on-the-go mom looking at the time to make sure everyone gets where they need to be on time.
Yeah, dental X-rays! I was puzzled by what he had because it didn’t quite fit my image of photo negatives — I don’t think they are usually mounted like that — but now I see.
Jeez, not everybody is that familiar with what dental x-rays look like. The closest thing they look like to me are photo negatives. Calm down, willya?
I really like this photo. What a way to look back and remember the growing up years. I would love to see the other photos from this session too. It’s not awkward–it’s just funny, which is how I think the family wanted it to be.

What the heck is Mom wearing?!! Any mom knows you don’t wear white until the kids are out of the house. Maybe it’s the other side with the peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal and baby spitup on it.
I actually think this one is pretty neat! At least that aren’t any guns next to the baby or compromising positions.
Or a cat sitting on a naked person’s lap. Speaking of which, doesn’t this family have any pets?
Wow! This is awkward because it’s SO cheesy! “Gosh, we’re all so busy, we can’t even get together for a family portrait like we used to… Tee hee!” It’s so cutesy my teeth hurt. BTW, looking at the mom’s outfit and hair, I’d say this was early 90s.

it’s a real picture of my family. Not sure who’s brilliant idea it was to pose us this way. I’ve always thought it was really goofy. Then I heard about this website…perfect!!

I love it. Especially with the old pic in the background. Nice touch. It shows how their lives have changed with the addition of more children. The girl is heading to ballet practice, the boys to their practices. It’s pretty cool.
I think that was meant to be funny – therefore it’s not really awkward – just a really good parody on the average American family.
Except I’m guessing that they don’t see themselves as the Average American family. I’m guessing they see themselves as pretty exceptional. I get a little weary of people wearing their busyness as a badge of honor. “Oh, we’re sooo busy!” by which we mean, “Oh, we’re such great parents with such talented kids.”

Indeed. I was going to say, this is a cool picture if it stays in the family album. It’s rather obnoxious if it gets sent out as the family holiday card. I could be wrong, but something tells me that this photo was included in the annual end of the year letter explaining each of these activities and their corresponding awards in painstaking detail.
