Posers - Family Portrait

If they had a nickel for every time they were late to band practice, dance recital, getting the photos developed, soccer practice, and remembering the baby… they would have a nickel.

Not really awkward, but very cheesy

  2. Whozat says:

I actually kind of love this. I think it’s a cute way to show everyone’s interests. I also like the photo on the wall, that says, “When we only had two young kids, we had time to sit down and smile pretty.”

  3. UM says:

The shot would have looked better without all the crap in the background. It’s especially bad that the red line is crooked above the baby’s head. I mean, yeah it looks posed, but the poses are composed nicely. The background just ruins it.

  4. mary says:

they’re so busy they don’t have time to pose! wow that’s busy. yeah, busy…

  5. Paul says:

I actually think this is a nice photo.

  6. customcartoons says:

Omigod!! We forgot KEVIN!!!!! (Home Alone reference, y’all) ^_^

  7. Rory says:

    This is absolutely fantastic!!!

  8. Sam says:

Surely this is a promo shot for a 90’s sitcom that never got picked up.

  9. Lola says:

SWEET! I wish my family had one like this!

  10. GSL says:

I don’t know…It’s sort of cute, but it’s also further proof that attempts at “action” shots rarely work.

  11. Serene says:

Now I know everyone’s prolly said this already but I just wanted to say it again anyways –> I love this pic….its not in the least bit awkward, instead it comes across as super cute! Loving it šŸ˜€

  12. joycemac says:

Those are norman rockwell plates on the wall. As someone earlier said, it’s not awkward but I’m glad it’s here. It’s a great portrait and i’m not sure what other way there is to get it out there on the net.

  13. jamela says:

i think it’s quite a creative family picture! kudos to them!

  14. Joe says:

I love the mom looking at her watch because they’re running late. She is my favorite. DBs are the greatest, the world would be dull w/o them.

  15. Dee says:

The photo within the photo is so normal…

  16. sooz says:

    Norman Rockwell gone 80’s!!

  17. weikop says:

Hmm Did anyone say Norman Rockwell? Oh yes… someone did.

  18. Kassie says:

What I noticed were all the randomly hung “decorations” on the wall…

  19. faye says:

Everyone else has a hobby, mom has a full-time gig as a taxi driver. Nicer.

  20. Brian Smith says:

I don’t understand why it’s sad. Why tie such a strong emotional to the process of making a simple observation? Why would the observer select words of dissidence rather than words that help share perspective and knowledge? Oop – gotta go – my coffee’s kickin’ in.

  21. Karla says:

Aha! Those aren’t photos Dad is holding, they’re Dental x-rays. Great way to show his career as a Dentist without being pompous or bragging…I love this!

  22. Miffy says:

Did anyone mention Norman Rockwell yet? Or band camp?

  23. Vin says:

I like this photo! Yes, it is rather awkward, but not in an entirely bad way. There’s something oddly cute and unique about it.

  24. This is kind of cool! It tells a story about their life together as a family and not in an awkward way, but I’m still glad it’s here!

  25. fagtron2000 says:

this is just a sweet photo, agreed on the not awkward.

    • Tiffani says:

It would have been awkward if say, the Easter Bunny had been popping out of a corner or something. I think I might have even liked that photo better.

  26. Elizabeth says:

I like this one, too. I also thought of Norman Rockwell.

  27. Amanda says:

I like this one! It’s a pretty cute idea!

  28. Gen says:

I think this is adorable. Yes, they’re talking about the activities they’re all into, but in a funny way, not a self-important one, and everyone actually looks pretty natural. Plus the old photo showing how together they were before the last baby is genuinely self-deprecating. Funny and cute, not even slightly awkward.

    • Nicole says:

Before the baby AND soccer junior. Ah, the good old days when there were only two kids and not three. Ooops, I mean four. Don’t forget the baby!

  29. Katie says:

Yeah, I’d say it is Norman Rockwell, too.

  30. Anne says:

Wow, they all did a great job holding those positions to get this. The toddler looks like he’s about to be abducted by aliens. Cool shot.

  31. Tom G says:

That was my thought too. Must have been a tough shot to pull off.

  32. Greg_D says:

That’s sad that nobody here knows the works of Norman Rockwell. The guy became famous for painting staged scenes like this.
