Am I the only one who thinks that is a doll?

  2. Ed says:

I get what they were going for here… but, why didn’t they just wait until the little one could stand? Were they gonna lose a kid and be one short by that time?

  3. Ryan says:

Cool picture Idea! Poor baby though :(

  4. Carrie says:

After thinking about the obvious (the mechanics are solved in an earlier comment ) have a close look at what the poses say about the age/stage of each child. The second oldest girl so open and charming, her older sister – more introverted and wistful, the 4yo brother symetrically and carefully doing exactly as instructed, sandwiched between his confident older sibling and his helpless baby brother who is cutely stealing the show.
Can one further speculate as a previous post does that the baby is looking at Mum and Dad is the creative genius holding the camera?

  5. Lori says:

To many kids for my blood. But love the creativity. Awesome shot.

  6. BC says:

    it was the baby’s idea

  7. Jessica says:

This is beyond epic! Love it.

  8. kim says:

If you look they’re in front of the windows not behind. Looks like his clothing was taped and then under his arms. Definatly real…I bet they didn’t think the tape would show up. The baby has great proof as to why he’s not the favorite now!! Cute idea for a photo if the youngest can stand on his own :)

    • JerseyPam says:

What a relief the kids are in front of the window. I was wondering because the middle child looks like he’s beating on the glass!

  9. Louise says:

I LOVE this picture! Best picture ever on this website. (not the most awkward, though!)

  10. vjhr says:

And for the record…I, too, copied it and opened it in photoshop. I pumped the exposure way up, and studied that baby. He’s got a binky in his mouth, he’s wearing a navy blue and white striped romper, no baby carrier, and yep, he’s taped on. He’s got multiple pieces of tape going across his chest, and then vertical pieces of tape on top of those to hold them on. He’s dangling there pretty calmly.

  11. vjhr says:

If this were my family, I would have this enlarged, framed and hung on my wall. Fantastic!

  12. Tara says:

    Very creative…crazy…but creative.

  13. CSB says:

I think it’s a bit of trick photography. I think the kids are laying on their backs….on some sort of light box with a background.

  14. shalini says:

i DIED laughing after i saw this!!! thank you for posting this!!!

  15. Patty says:

I LOVE it! Thought it was a cupid cut out at first and then realized it’s the youngest. That is hilarious! One of the best on here!

  16. Mez says:

the kid is obviously a Transformer. The left arm is clearly taking the shape of a beautiful feathered wing and the right, an AK-47

    • lissa says:

I first saw this picture a few years ago and always come back to it when I’m having a bad day as it [and the comments!] are an instant pick-me-up…and I can’t stop laughing at your comment. :D “beautiful feathered wing”…lmao

  17. Jules says:

The best photo yet….almost lost control laughing…..gotta love duct tape.

  18. Christina says:

I haven’t actually LAUGHED at a picture on here in a long time! Thank you for the chuckle!

  19. Bonnie says:

    I think it’s a doll.

  20. Peg says:

Awesome idea for a photo (not the taped on baby part).

  21. Layla says:

They but the baby in a front style baby carrier and then taped that to the window

  22. Layla says:

    I love it!

  23. w says:

Wait, the tape is coming off!! What baby do you know who would stand for this??

  24. SoMuch2Say says:

    I like this!

  25. Melissa says:

    I don’t think it’s a baby. I think it’s a toy. Funny, though.

  26. Uncuw Biww says:

how much is that baby in the window?

  27. M4d2m0a says:

Duct tape? I see a baby with wings and a Bazooka, I dunno what you guys are smoking.

  28. I copied the photo to my iPhoto and played with the exposure and definition etc. a bit. It really looks like there is something around the baby, and the duct tape is holding that up. LIke a piece of cloth or a carrier, then that is taped to the window. There is clearly no tape on the baby itself. And no, it does not look photoshopped.
Funny pic tho. Wonder whose idea it was.

    • Somegraphx says:

Haa! I did the same thing and came to the same conclusion. The baby carrier is what is duct taped to the window.

  29. plainbelliedsneetch says:

Dad forgave Mom for her fling with Wally WallWalker and raised Jeffrey as his own.

  30. Elyse says:

This photo is so awesome it makes me want to have another baby just so I can do this too!

  31. Tony says:

This is just plain awesome! The big kids look happy, the baby looks fine, and Mom and Dad are probably laughing hysterically.

  32. MusicGal says:

Can anyone say America’s Next Top Model’s next photo shoot idea? :P

  33. Ponyo says:

That’s just messed up, what if the tape doesn’t hold?

    • Desdes says:

      1. There is a lot of tape there.
      2. I bet the mother is only a foot or so off camera
      3. If I were setting up this photo I would place some pillows or something below “just in case”.

    • sarah says:

from the number of kids standing, unharmed in the other windows, i’d say these parents have had plenty of experience at taping babies!!!

  34. Melissa says:

I think this might be one of my favorite pictures ever! It almost makes me want to have 3 more kids so that i can recreate it for myself. I don’t think it’s “awkward” per se. Just plain ol’ hilarious :)

    • Melissa says:

Me again. And I agree that the baby’s foot is flexed…not “shop-chopped”. That kicking baby-foot angle is familiar to Mommy’s and Daddy’s everywhere! :)

  35. June says:

    Truly FTW!!!

  36. Juls says:

    Best. Photo. Ever.

  37. bethksp says:

I’m pretty sure this was taken on the last day of Jack’s birthday week. :)

  38. Sondra says:

I think the baby is in one of those back pack carriers ( the body is pretty sqaure) and then taped up… man that must have been an interesting day for that family.

  39. MCR says:

Why we love Gaffer’s tape reason #423: Helps with backlit portraits.

  40. Caroline says:

If you look really closely, I’m not sure the baby itself is taped. It looks like it may be a towel or something around the baby that is taped to the window. The arms are free–in front of the tape, not under the tape.

  41. Jan says:

I thought this pic was so cute. Until I read the other comments I thought that the baby was supposed to be a cupid.

  42. Betsy says:

I was laughing so hard at this one that a little bit of drool came out of my mouth. I hope this was used as the yearly Christmas card…

    • Sarah Jo says:

Ditto! I’m pregnant, I laughed so hard I peed my pants. No more photo browsing until I get myself some Poise!

      • Tracy says:

Congratulations, Sarah Jo! You’ll have to share your awkward photos to come – you know you’ll have them because we all do. ;)

  43. Cee says:

I’m really torn on this.. on one level the photo is screamingly hilarious.. on the other level, its horrifying. My question – does Dr.Phil check out this webpage?

    • Jennifer says:

And would it matter if he does?

      • klb says:

My guess is that the baby is in a baby bjorn and the bjorn is duct tapped to the window not any appendage of the baby. They wouldn’t stand for it. He/she would be in the fetal position not just hanging there.

  44. Cori says:

    It’s a bird..it’s a plane…close it’s a DUCT.

  45. willardolson says:

very funny!!! but if you blow it up his foot is cut off. unfortunately – “shopped” — great photo!!!

  46. Anita says:

SammyD got me curious, so I did the same thing. I don’t think it’s shopped; I think Rachel is correct that the baby is taped horizontally across its chest and under its arms, and the vertical tape is holding up the horizontal tape, behind the baby’s arms. If you zoom in enough, you can tell that the baby looks pretty relaxed, not fighting it at all, and looking off to the side, obviously at a parent. At first I thought it was horrible, but after the examination I agree that it was probably quick and pretty harmless.

    • Anonymous says:

Except pulling off duct tape hurts really, really badly

    • sarah says:

And I dont care if he is relaxed, who tapes their kid to a window?

      • holly says:

oh for pete sakes… people need to lighten up… who raises their children to be afraid of everything?… i tossed my kids in the air…i threw them in the deep end..and if i would have thought of it…I would have duct taped them to the window… astronauts dont get to be astronauts, fire fighters dont get to be fire fighters, etc, if their parents raised them in fear… BTW my children are very successfull healthy adults.

  47. David says:

I’m kind of surprised that there’s very little outcry with taping a baby to a window as compared to a parent throwing a child in the air and being there to catch them

  48. Emily says:

Your comment actually made me laugh harder than the photo did — and I was snorting pretty good there!

    • Cee says:

I was originally a little put off by the photo.. but thanks to your comment, I would forever laugh, thinking of that quote.. hahaha :-D

  49. DanaK says:

I want to pee my pants EVERY TIME I look at this photo.
