It’s a maine coon cat. They do get rather large, and some of them even sound like large dogs when they come running. My parents had one named Spike when I was little. They are highly intelligent, and can be very good with kids.

  2. lane says:

and i thought my DOG was fat!!!

  3. cate says:

I have had over 50 cats in my life and this one breaks the mold. The biggest, most beautiful cat I have ever seen. How much does that cat eat? I thought my cat was fat, but I can only say WOW!!! Hope it lives a long life.

  4. Casey says:

OMG That is THE BIGGEST cat i have EVER seen!!!!!!!!! What in the world!

  5. Tigerlilly says:

I’m a Photoshop artist, the pics real. Also take a look, she’s leaning backwards slightly to balance the weight. My 25 lb Maine coon mix and his sister together aren’t as big as that giant fluff ball! Aaaawwwwesome kitty! Have to admit my first thought was cougar meets persistant long haired lover, love child takes over house, nanny says best job ever, news at 11

  6. tori says:

i think that cat is as big as my 98 pound yellow lab. =O

  7. Lisa says:

some cats make strange bed fellows.

  8. Leslie says:

Photoshop……once more; it is all Photoshop!!!!

  9. Mike says:

I had a cat identical to that one. He was huge, Maine Coon, and as sweet as they come. He passed away about 2 months ago. His name was Romeo, for reasons you can come up with.

  10. Sandy says:

In my deepest Barry White voice…… “here KITTY KITTY…”

  11. Sue says:

That thing would feed a family of 5 —— for a week

  12. ka says:

    Amazing. What a large cat!!!

  13. Kiki says:

I will never complain about the size of my cat again. He is a maine coon as well, but he only weighs 25 lbs.

  14. LuLu says:

I would hate to clean the litter box for that cat! They must use a kiddie sandbox.

    • MojoGD says:

@LuLu – too funny, I couldn’t stop laughing. Quite honestly, I think it must have it’s own bathroom and must be trained to use the toilet. You would have to use a regular shovel to clean that litter box!

  15. Wanda says:

Now this is what I call a house cat. I love all cats any size. But this is the perfect cat, you should never have problems with uninvited guests, LOL……

  16. miguel says:

jolin que pedazo de gato…. que raza es? por favor.

  17. John says:

Damn, that cat would twist me into a ball and bat me around for fun.

  18. crow says:

and I thought my maine coon was big!

  19. Superricky06 says:

she looks pretty tall to me so thats just one huge! cat O.o woooooooow , wat does she feed that beastly thing?

  20. Soma says:

that’s a really good cat suit on that midget, I have to say.

  21. Georgi says:

    Awww, I want one!

  22. Boppie says:

That creature deserves its own SyFy channel movie: SabreTooth Housecat escapes from lab and hides in suburban home with tragicomic consequences…

  23. Fascinating post, good work.

  24. Patricia says:

It’s sort of a Maine Coon/Yellow Lab mix, isn’t it? I would not want that thing coming after me in the dark. Crap!

  25. conure says:

Not a fake. I used to know a 50% Maine coon/ 50% english-shorthair-or-maybe-brontasaur the same size. I miss him. He was a perfect self-heating blanket and he could “one-bite” mice like mini marshmellows

  26. Keith says:

I would be afraid to fall asleep around that cat. It would eat my face.

  27. earl says:

It is not faked. We have a black Maine Coon female kitten. Won’t be that big as males are bigger but they are gentle giants. Like to demomish toilet paper rolls!

  28. Chel says:

I thought at first was photoshopped… I mean, how could a “common” house cat get so big…
Now all I can say is wow, and wow, and simply, wow. My 6 pound dogs would nothing more than it’s afternoon snack!!

  29. Jesse says:

Holy cow, did that cat get into the Miracle Grow when no one was looking?

  30. Brett says:

That is one hot cat lady.

  31. Jak says:

    Awww!!! I want a megaKitty…

  32. Issa says:

Ahhh a Maine Coon. I remember visiting a pet shelter and having one of those, plus her sister, get up in my lap for some cuddling. I thought I was going to suffocate. Very affectionate and gentle darlings though.

  33. Kyle says:

It’s a Maine Coon. They’re naturally big cats.

  34. Racheal says:

He’s a Maine Coon. They’re HUGE! We have one ourselves. They’re big ole babies.

  35. ErpInBurp says:

What do you get when you cross a kitten with a lion?

  36. Dena says:

  37. Tom Flapwell says:

“Check out the bobcat I caught!”

  38. Tanya says:

it is not a cat, it is a baby lion!

  39. Simmer says:

Is that a cat or a lion?

  40. Charlotte says:

its actually a pretty old picture of her and the cat. I knew her many years ago, and Im not kidding when I say that cat was Huge! The paws were like the size of a good human palm.

    • Jimbo says:

that pic has actually been floating around on the internet for a few years. i know i saw it a couple of years ago. im glad it has made its way here. classic.

  41. Ducky says:

That is not a cat, that is the rare, long-haired mountain lion.

  42. jeesh says:

This site is even BETTER than Awkward Family Photos.

  43. Jack says:

WTH kind of cat is that?

  44. Brian says:

    Cat. It’s what’s for dinner.

  45. Ann says:

oh lord, it’s enormous! unless she’s really small? look at the size of the paws on that brute!

  46. Sean O'Brien says:

    I think she’s just a tiny lady.

  47. Chad says:

    Interesting scarf!

  48. Nicole says:

I agree Rick, all I could say was “WOW that’s one big cat!”

  49. Rick says:

OK – I’m just stating the obvious, but that’s one big frikkin cat!
