Unless the US has been on a major yet covert expansionist spree, I’m counting what looks like 6 rows of 9 stars and 7 rows of 5 stars – if one star is for each State of the Union that makes 89 states…
Thanks, whoever called me a “young woman!” Yes, we walked in a small town parade last year (09). In fact, four people from my church have been recruited every year since someone found this get up (yes, we’re tied together) to wear it in the parade and walk in front of the church’s float (decorated flatbed trailer). Last year it was my turn, along with 3 other people. I’ll probably do it tomorrow, too!
What I REALLY wanna know: do these stripes make me look fat?!
I knew it! I could tell this was some kind of parade get-up. I think it’s cute, but the guys reactions are too funny. Has the younger one been called Napoleon much?
When I was in college in the late 70′s four dorm friends and I wore a costume just like this — only we made it out of a sheet and colored markers. Then when we turned around, we’d written on the back “Are we not men? We are DEVO!”
Um…Puerto Rico, Guam, Greece, US Virgin Islands, Great Britian, Wake Island, Midway Island, the moon, Kazakhstan, North North Dakota (formerly Canada), Haiti, Iceland…
Not only is it illegal to cut it, it is illegal to wear the American flag in any way unless it is part of your military or police uniform – all those cute T’s with the flag on it — illegal (just a pet peeve of mine — this is a symbol that deserves respect, not a cutsie decoration)
Looking at the star portion there are WAY to many stars. I have a feeling that this is a home made outfit made from fabric available at any fabric store

hope the did not try to burn it
I’ve heard of ‘wrapping yourself in the flag’ but this is ridiculous.
“Excuse me, um… which way to the Tea Bagger parade?”
Bwahahahaha!!!
When a simple T-Shirt just isn’t enough.
I’m from this small town – I’d recognize those fairgrounds anywhere! Loved seeing the four person flag in the parade again this year!
I love small towns and their parades – always short and sweet. Then we can disband and get to the carnival and food booths and beer garden.
looks like fun, but it’s just a little ‘much’
They were all glad they took that Belly Dancing class together at the Y. This year, the flag can wave!
Take one guess as to whose idea this was!
That’s EXACTLY what I thought!!! That’s so funny.
If ya want to be technical, using the flag as apperal is ilegal.
They should have walked in the parade with it,and had no pants on,just for fun.
the TRUE awkwardness is that the two on the right are really reversed, and no one noticed…
So where’s Waldo?
win!
This is the image shown in the dictionary next to the definition of “good sport.”

Hmmm, well there’s South Jersey and North Jersey….if we do it tax-wise there might be more stars than shown here.
And we can’t forget Mexico…..ever.
Accuracy is irrelevant when patriotism is involved…don’t you know that?

The white stripes bring out your smile!
I knew it! I could tell this was some kind of parade get-up. I think it’s cute, but the guys reactions are too funny. Has the younger one been called Napoleon much?

I’m sure it was a lot funnier back then.
Lol they did this in that 70s show. This ones funnier cause the two dude look like were duped.
i was thinking the exact same thing !
What if one of them has to pee?
This reminds me of the episode of ‘That 70′s Show’ when Donna’s parents made her wear a jumpsuit that was stars and her parents were the stripes.
Is it just me, or they’re not just standing next to one another — they’re tied together.
They should have worn shots and sleeveless shirts to look like the falg was the only thing they were wearing.
Well, it’s not an actual flag… notice that it has 98 stars (that I can count)
it’s a flag from the future. Look forward to 48 more states!
I laughed REEAALLY REALLY HARD at the future flag comment……good one.
HOORAY!!!
Um…Puerto Rico, Guam, Greece, US Virgin Islands, Great Britian, Wake Island, Midway Island, the moon, Kazakhstan, North North Dakota (formerly Canada), Haiti, Iceland…
I bet they wore this in a parade. hahaha!
Guess whose idea it was
I had the same thought. I bet she was the one that made them.
I’m with comment #1–Pollyanna’s version was much cuter!
Not attractive. And isn’t it illegal, at least disrespectful to cut up the flag???
what I was thinking.
Not only is it illegal to cut it, it is illegal to wear the American flag in any way unless it is part of your military or police uniform – all those cute T’s with the flag on it — illegal (just a pet peeve of mine — this is a symbol that deserves respect, not a cutsie decoration)
It’s illegal to wear a flag AS clothing but not to have the flag ON your clothing, so yes this is illegal, but T’s with flags on them aren’t
Illegal? Or against some code? Like, can you be arrested for this? If so, give me a break.
And the symbol represents brainwashing in my book, but that just goes to show diversity of opinion, which is why this SHOULDN’T be illegal.
Obviously this isn’t a real flag, it has 89 stars!
Looking at the star portion there are WAY to many stars. I have a feeling that this is a home made outfit made from fabric available at any fabric store
agree!
NOT illegal.
Jesus, it’s a piece of cloth. Get over it.
debmcc,
I didn’t see Jesus complaining.
Looks like Napolean Dynomaite there
That was my first thought.
dang it!
I was totally gonna say the same thing.
Hi Napolean!!
yup.
Hm.. They would as well hold an actual flag… Or are they starting a line of patriotic aprons?
Grammar fail… s/b “Even partiotism has ITS limits.” Possessive form of “it” has no apostrophe.
Yay! I’m not the only Grammar Nazi! LOL
I was gonna say the same thing! How hard can it possibly be?!?!
Mash you shouldn’t be correcting anyone’s grammar when you are saying gonna! major FAIL! LMAO!
Spelling fail…
partiotism?
WOW!!! You guys must have a very sad lifes….
don’t you mean lives?

(Egads, that IS embarrassing!!)
You still get credit for writing a wrong, Dr. Strangelove. (j/k with “writing”)
This appears to be the young woman’s (2nd from the right) idea. Everyone else looks perplexed and/or annoyed
haha I noticed that immediately. She looks SO proud!
definitely the expressions are the real awkward thing here. priceless.
What’s so funny is that the guy on right is the one who talked me into it!
that’s our Marnie!!!
Sorry, someone please explain the ‘Marnie’ thing for me?
Marnie is the classic Awkward Family Photos personality.

Dad and son have that “this can’t be happening” look on their faces!
Polyanna wore it better
FTW!!
