Behind The Awkwardness: Snakecharmer - Pets

“I had a ball python named Richard Parker a few years back. He’d hang out on my shoulder from time to time. One afternoon, he coiled himself around my nose and retreated to the brim of my hat. He will be fondly remembered for this and his penchant for getting stuck behind the washing machine.”

Yep, that’s the band ‘Granddaddy’….I recognise the typography. One of the BEST bands from the USA. Jason Lytle (now gone solo) is very talented!!!!!

Love it! I have a ball python that does stuff like this, too. The only difference is, my snake is full grown and is 5 feet long…

I had a cat named Richard Parker. Good book, and good band.

The only awkward thing about this is the duckface and stupid trucker hat. He’s not being ironic — he just looks dumb!

  8. Carol says:

    This isn’t awkward.

It’s just….a snake picture. Icky, if you don’t like snakes, and probably pretty cool if you do.

    I vote “icky”.

Why oh why does at least one person in every “comments” section on BOTH sites feel the need to proclaim the photo as NOT awkward? Clearly the people SENDING the photos to the site feel that they are awkward. So why are you trying to defend them? Sure, it’s a snake photo…but it’s wrapped around his freaking NOSE for crying out loud! You don’t find that to be an awkward position? For the snake or (at least) for the owner? Oh hi….don’t mind me, I’ve got a snake wrapped around my nose. Perfectly normal, I can assure you.

  10. JerseyPam says:

Richard Parker loved you in his own reptilian way, for sure. Amazing picture, one for reptile magazines. I have to ask, why the name and are you really a grandaddy in this picture? You look so young.

  11. Doreen says:

As if his one eye isn’t creepy enough, whats up with him wearing a hat that says “grandaddy”?
