I really want to know from the OP why that one girl has 1878 on her shirt. Surely there’s some kind of story, like the seamstress/grandmother who made them had really bad vision and picked up the “8″ decal instead of the “9″.
If they had to wear those charmers in public, I’d have to turn in the parents for retro-active child abuse. Also, I wonder why Mr. 1980 is the only one not going along with the black and white theme–perhaps he was ready to breakout of the big house.
I wonder if these kids could be cousins instead of siblings and this is a photo of all the grandchidren? Maybe not since there aren’t any overlaps in the dates….
One year for Christmas, my (now ex) mother-in-law bought matching green & gray striped pajamas for all her grandchildren. My son commented that they looked liked prisoners. Awkward moment: their aunt was in prison at the time. Golden.
That’s awesome. I bet the grandparents were happy to get a copy, easier to keep up with how old they all are. I am in awe of a woman who can have 7 kids and make matching outfits for all of them.
I swear I know the girl with 1978. The birth year seems like it’s right, and her first name is Joyce. Anybody know if that’s possibly her? If it is, I had no idea she had all those siblings!
I thought the same thing! AND she managed to get some really rad glasses back then. Could she be a time traveler? Is she even a member of this family at all???
I wonder if any of the seven sibs still fit their birthyear T’s- and could Mom sometimes have felt as though she was the prisoner & they were the wardens instead of vice versa?
Throw in a couple Dorthy Hamill’s, a Lloyd Christmas or two, mullet Dorthy Hamill and a splash of happiness; that gives you one sweet sibling portrait! Well done sir!
Why? Just a fun photo showing that they survived the confinement of being in their mom’s belly for 9 months. I think it’s a cute picture, and very original too.
That is to funny! I looks like that is the years they were born in and it can’t be the early 80 because the one born in 86 looks 4 or 5! so thats like early 90′s!! Not in style then for sure….well if I’m not mistaking I believe that wasn’t ever in style!!

when you have that many, you have to come up with creative ways to tell them apart. they also have mock team jerseys with their name on the back.

i’m pretty sure it says 1978 and it’s just a bad angle. if you’ll notice, all the other 9s look a lot like 8s. 1984 in particular.
Wonder if they would pose in shirts like that now??
Boy, mom must not have had a job as her job was birthing and raising kids.
Hope they all turned out fine.
Looks like the kid on the left has his vertical hold a little better adjusted than the others.
Obviously all arrested the same day, since their prisoner numbers are so close together.
You do NOT want to know what these kids did.
Actually it looks like several of the dates start in the 1800′s. Love the photo name though, the Clinker family!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Dorothy Hamill mullet
1976 had to be 12 or 13. Wasn’t he old enough to call his parents out?
Mom wasn’t in the picture because it hurt too much to sit. 7 kids will do that to ya. Yeouch!

Do you realize that in the ten years she had those children she was pregnant for almost 5.5 years! Wowza!!
Wow, the youngest one looks identical to my niece.

my thought too…cousins?
SEVEN children! Get me Maria von Trapp, stat!

This photo made me laugh out loud. A family with a sense of humor!
It seems like Miss 1978′s shirt says 1878, but I’m sure it’s just the angle…right?
The Duggers, the earlier years
Good one!
Some collect key chains, others collect dolls, this family collects children prisoners.
That’s awesome. I bet the grandparents were happy to get a copy, easier to keep up with how old they all are. I am in awe of a woman who can have 7 kids and make matching outfits for all of them.
Ah,the ‘matching outfits’ are actually Government issue.
I swear I know the girl with 1978. The birth year seems like it’s right, and her first name is Joyce. Anybody know if that’s possibly her? If it is, I had no idea she had all those siblings!
I know these people…. her name is not Joyce
. Great family! Great picture!
Hope Mama feeds them more than bread and water!!
Grandma had a selfish motive when she made those.
Thanks for the HILARIOUS caption AFP!
I am thankful they did not choose Sparticus as a theme…
1976 also marked the shortage of big-huge white collars due to the bicentennial celebrations.
That made me laugh out loud! Nice!
When the prisoners outnumber the guards…
Second from upper left is coming up on her 132nd birthday.
I thought the same thing! AND she managed to get some really rad glasses back then. Could she be a time traveler? Is she even a member of this family at all???
I thought I was seeing things! Glad I didn’t imagine it.
How fitting! At my house, the inmates are in charge of the Big House.
You’ll never catch us alive, coppers!
Stripe a pose…
FTW!!
Funny.
Good Lord – Mother needs to lock Daddy out of the room for a couple of years!!!!
She did – in 1977, 1979, 1982 and 1985 by th elooks of it.
LOL!
I wonder if any of the seven sibs still fit their birthyear T’s- and could Mom sometimes have felt as though she was the prisoner & they were the wardens instead of vice versa?
I love it, how damn creative!! The kids look like they are having a blast!
Throw in a couple Dorthy Hamill’s, a Lloyd Christmas or two, mullet Dorthy Hamill and a splash of happiness; that gives you one sweet sibling portrait! Well done sir!
…and in 5 to 10, mom and dad will join them for the next portrait sitting
…Or the time they will serve in prison.
Brillian caption!
Brilliant caption!
What impresses me about this is that the mom had 7 kids in 10 years.
Wouch!
*sends a virtual high five to Cebe
Damn, those parents were busy bunnies!!!
It was very common at one time – My mother had 5 under the age of 7 at one time!! And yes keeping with who is who, is difficult.
That time when it was common was most definitely NOT the late 70′s and 80′s!
oh, dear!
I think it’s for the parents, so they won’t forget what year the children were born.:)
They should have put their names on too, just in case.
@Kitten…..perhaps those ARE their names! LOL
Wow, 7 pregnancies in 10 years! I only have two, but as adults I find myself doing the math to answer the question of how old the girls are now.
WHY???
Why? Just a fun photo showing that they survived the confinement of being in their mom’s belly for 9 months. I think it’s a cute picture, and very original too.
I think its’s perfectly early ’80′s goofy and pretty sweet! Thanks Mom! (not my mom…lol)
