Matching dresses. Matching ice cream. I’d kill to see her house.
3,2,1 Lick…..Mom You Blew It AGAIN !
What I you guys talking about?? I would looove to have this kind of photo with my mum and my sis. I think it’s fun and not akward at all
Thanks emma, that is exactly what i thought, they look like a really nice family.
i still dot that awkward free-hand all over the place thing like the young girl. XD
i have to ask, why do they eat ice cream at ther family photo?
akward!
I’m just glad they had icecream cones and not popsicles in this pic.
Time and again I see things on this site that make me roll my eyes and bust out laughing; as a professional photographer myself, I take, almost on a daily basis, work that should be on this site; either by client request or out of my own desire to put one more flowery portrait out into the ether. This seems like one of those ideas that looked good in mom’s head that just turned in to a indeed awkward session for family and photographer alike!
Kelly and Kir; How come your mom never sent us a copy of this shot? HILARIOUS!!!!!!! Guess she knew we’d all be needing some humor about now……
Kel and Kir, for the record, I had absolutely nothing to do with this… However, now I kinda wish I’d been there to witness it all… I can only imagine.
Wow Kelly, I never knew…. this is so…. weird. I’ll never be able to look at you and Kir the same way again….
Hahahahahahhahaha. Kelly – I never would’ve recognized you… beyond hilarious!!! Thank you for sharing!!
This is so suburbia it’s nearly Amish!
Awwww….moms who sew matching dresses out of curtains for the whole family ROCK!!!!
I think I went to school with the older girl! If her name is Brigitte or Brittany (it was only one year like 15 years ago) then it it her!
I like how even the ice cream matches. No chocolate or pistachio allowed.
Was there a Schwann’s truck parked outside the studio? Was the photo taken in the back room of the local Baskin-Robbins? So many questions!
Matchy matchy!
And Steve… it would still be awkward.
Ice cream + studio lights = dresses in the Maytag as soon as we get home!
Not really… Photo lights aren’t /that/ hot, because the main light is only on for a fraction of a second, and the secondary “modeling” lamp is typically only 100 or 250 watts at full power.
That said, I wouldn’t put those dresses in the Maytag… ice cream stains or not. I’d put them in the fireplace.
Was the icecream to get them to the studio or to wear the outfits?
“Oh no! I ‘accidentally’ spilled ice-cream all over this dress. What a shame! I guess I’ll never be able to wear it again.”
Am I the only one who is disturbed by the fact they are all wearing the same outfits?
Nope!
This is just weird. I can’t even imagine walking into Sears portrait studio with ice cream cones! LOL! And tongues should not be visible in a formal family photo!
This wouldn’t be so awkward if Mom were eating as well. And if she got the same flavor, seeing as she’s wearing the same outfit.
Mom made those matching dresses just for ice cream eating…..with built in bibs for the girls.
Thought bubble: “I have ice-cream running down my sleeve, but we – are – taking – this – damned – photo!”
Is this not the ‘Punks In Space’ only younger. The mum looks the same.
now that would be funny if it was the same family. i guess dressing them alike pushed them over the edge.
That totally looks like the same family!! Oh god, i hope it is.
I’m sure the mum is the same and the kid on the right looks the same as well, just imagine her with a big mohawk.
