Green Steel - Behind The Awkwardness

“So my Dad’s landlord, who is trying to bring business back to his failing modeling agency (failing probably because he takes photos like this), volunteered to take pictures of my dad and I. He dressed and posed both of us, and this was the result. Oh, his instruction for our facial expression was “Give me stubborn! Give me sassy!”

Did you guys stay at the Biltmore? :D

  2. Paula Laue says:

Uhhh Your dad looks just like Keith Richards!

  3. Lane says:

Ahaha, reminds me of the awkward pics of Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka when she was a teen. People have given him hell about the poses, but ya know, it was probably, (like it is 99.99% of the time…) the freakin photographer’s direction, therefore, not even Trumpster’s fault that time.

  4. Mat says:

Um, you look absolutely fantastic though (which I appreciate isn’t the point, but I’m sure a strange guy on the internet saying this is helpful)

  5. Mackenzie says:

Oh my gosh, was this photo taken at the Biltmore in Coral Gables?! I’ve stood right there!

  6. Otis McGee says:

    Ew.
    Just ….. ew.

  7. Joodrops says:

Whatever happened to saying “No, not gonna happen!” ???
This is just plain creepy, who would go along with this?

  8. Julia says:

Uh oh, ever hear of green screens in cinematography? This may get worse if it hasn’t already.

  9. Melinda says:

“Give me stubborn! Give me sassy!” Nailed it.

  10. Kat says:

    Hilarious!!

  11. jon says:

you would just happen to be unbelievably sexy….wow….

  12. Shane says:

Yes, he may have posed you like that, but I suspect that the outfit was your choice….

  13. Betsy says:

This beats the last family photo I had taken…

  14. tom says:

And now he has that photo hanging in his bathroom.

  15. Blake says:

    I would smash on that!

The girls not bad either. ;D

  16. JS says:

It’s “my dad and me” not “my dad and I.”

    • Nimja says:

Proper way is “My dad and I”.

      • Krow says:

Actually, the proper way is “my Dad and me” . Trust me on this. I’ve been on the Grammar Police Force for too many years to remember. Blame my private school education and my English Teacher College Prep Stepfather. Any way you want to look at it, it’s definitely “me” in this case. Read the book, “Eats, Shoots, and Leaves” it’s great!

        • HR says:

You are both wrong. It’s supposed to be “…Pictures of me and my dad.”

Not “my dad and me.” And definitely not “my dad and I”

@Krow, your stepfather would be disappointed.

          • Grammar Police says:

Actually, it can be either “my dad and I” or “my dad and me” depending on whether you are the subject or object of the sentence. For example: “My dad and I went to the store” is correct, as is “He volunteered to take pictures of my dad and me”. If you aren’t sure, try removing “my dad and” from the sentence, and it should become clear. You would not say “He volunteered to take pictures of I”, and you would definitely not say “Me went to the store”… At least I hope you wouldn’t.

P.S.: The girl in this photo is smoking hot ;)

          • RedFox says:

            This person is right. totes.

          • I and I says:

I’m Jamaican, so I would say “He took a photo of I” or “Me went to the store”!

        • Cro~Mag1070 says:

Both versions are correct and acceptable.

          • DaveB says:

I tolerate it because people don’t like their grammar corrected. I suppose that means the incorrect form it is accepted, but the incorrect form is still incorrect.

      • Robyn says:

        wrong.

        • Robyn says:

I was trying to agree that “me” is correct, but it is hard to tell who I was replying to.

“I was trying to agree that ‘me’ is correct, but it is hard to tell who I was replying to.”

Ahem…. “…but it is hard to tell TO WHOM I was replying.”

    • Sam says:

Grammar Nazi’s are annoying…especially on the internet….I is outta hear :)

    • Aimee says:

Seriously? lol Correct me if I’m wrong, but this thread is ridiculous.

  21. Moose says:

Ooh la la…. dang, you’re one hot babe.

  22. Bobo the Clown says:

I still don’t understand. Did the photographer make you pose with your ass out like that, or was that your idea? Either way, it’s creepy all around.

  23. astrid says:

Miss you owe me a new keyboard!

  29. Grammar helper says:

“…volunteered to take pictures of my Dad and ME” (not “my Dad and I)

    • Grammar Nazi says:

It could have been worse. It could have been “me and my Dad”.

      • Grammar helper says:

We should be thankful for small mercies I suppose :). It just annoys me when people (an alarming amount!) think that using “X and I” is intrinsically good grammar :S

        • Just-Jill says:

Grammar helper, I feel the same way! I hate it. That and “I could care less”…really? That means you COULD CARE LESS! Ugh. I’ll step off my soap box before this becomes endless.

      • Careless says:

“me and my dad” would also be correct. It is only the use of “I” that is not

  30. Dean says:

Wow. Nice meeting you, Clarity…I want to be in the creepy picture too :)

  31. Christy says:

So she’s stubborn and he’s sassy, right?

  32. Michelle says:

  33. Marcus says:
