“what the hell am i doing in this picture?!?!?”
Whatever the long-lost backstory to this is, I believe the child’s expression is entirely appropriate.
“What the hell..?”
It’s Three Wolf Moon!
Ad(horrible)!
Where’s the other Bee Gee?!?!?
Ummmm, I can’t even begin to imagine what’s the story behind this photo…
I think this is the new promo pic for two and a half men, with Hugh Jackman takin’ the role of Charlie Sheen.
I love this photo. My guess is the two guys are partners and that’s their son. They could take him to an Iron Maiden show and rock out!!!!!
Looks like Bo and Luke Duke adopted a very confused child…
I bought this pic off Ebay… I love it to pieces! Just wish I knew the story behind it and why it’s not still with its owner… I wonder what happened to them…
But the photo will be cherished as long as I’m around!
I love that you bought this!! I want one now
I want one too! I want a wall full of them. Not the same picture, but you know what I mean. Or do you? Thank you for sharing!
Jennifer,
Seriously, you are my hero for buying this picture off Ebay!
Whatever the story behind the photo, or whatever else may be happening in it, “floating head” photos are always awkward. ALWAYS.
You are SO right Fammy. Floating head pics just creep me out…and then you see the people in it and are ALWAYS like, WTF?
Why must people read soooooo much into these pictures?!!?!? I can be analytical too, but come on!!! Just look at the picture, laugh your ass off and keep moving! Sheesh!
Bikers with no tatooes? awkward!
Steph! That made me LOL!!!! WIN!
Indeed! bikers with not a single tattoo – Awkward..
Haaa! Indeed it is very awkward!
I think it’s purty adorable!
the little floaty face has a horrified look. The brunette biker is cute, tho
I think its pretty cool – no matter what the dynamics involved. The kid is obviously pretty lucky to have these two guys when they do a photo like this.
Maybe she didn’t have a leather vest so they couldn’t do a whole body shot…
Kid must be the ” free bird”. Wow!
Heh heh heh “Awkwardness doesn’t discriminate” heh heh heh
Love it!!
When I first saw this, my expression was the same as the kid’s.
Ha ha ha ha ha! Laughed so hard! Thank you.
LOL!
hehe **snicker***snort
HAAAAAAAAAAAA! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Too funny!
Hehehehahahehehaheh….OH my, that is perhaps the absolute funniest possible comment, above certainly millions of hilarious possible replies…I feel like I’ve just seen the future. Wow. Ha. Phew.
Screw the family dynamics of it all… it doesn’t matter. It’s is totally awkward no matter what the circumstances.
*awkward, confusing, bewildering, strange – what have you!
This reminds me of the ’70′s: Lynard Skynard, The Outlaws, The Allman Bros, Marshall Tucker Band. We used to listen to a lot of southern rock down in Tampa.
so exactly which 1970′s band and album is this the cover for?
LOL!!!!
“used to listen to”???
I used to be a photographer at a photo studio in the mall. We actually offered this as an option. They take a profile of the kid, and super-impose it up on the side like that. We also offered the subjects to appear inside a wine goblet, with stars popping around the outsides of the picture and a red rose under the goblet. The epitome of cheesy, but people went for it like no other!! Now you have an explanation for the weird lay out. As for the subject matter, you’re on your own. I’ve seen EVERY possible combination of strangeness when it comes to family photos!
I too used to be a mall photographer. we required to do double exposures and cheesey prop shots. I hated it with a passion, but those shots were always the big sellers
maybe the baby’s momma won’t tell either possible dad if the child is his?…so instead, with all biker sincerity, they both just embraced the child wholeheartedly….from afar.
I don’t get it either! Is that their kid? Or one of them? Someone who knows them please come explain!
FIG 1: A rejected cover for the Golden Books version of Hunter S Thompson’s “Hells Angels”.
LOL!
I thought it might be “my two dads” which is fine; I just don’t like the “floating head” technique.
That’s what I thought!! My two dads, 1984!
I call photoshop shenanigans! There’s no way the kid’s head is really that big.
Nope….the kid’s head is normal size, but with two teeny weeny bikers.
LMFAO at the teeny weeny bikers!
best!
Those are not _real_ bikers — look at their teeth! They have all of them.
Maybe they are dentist bikers?
Bwa ha ha!
And pogonip, it’s not generally not a good idea to rip on bikers.
Amen, Ken.
Did you ever think its a picture taken for mothers day of all her children and the pic of the child might have been one how passed away..or its a ride to support a child with an illness….. I think there is more to this than what we see
oh so THIS is the one seemingly awkward photo that actually has a reasonable explanation!?
Thanks for making the Awkward unfunny.
Why are you on this site if you have no sense of humor? I don’t understand.
Wow jenn, you must be a barrel full of monkeys at parties. I think you’re over-rationalizing don’t cha think?? oh yeah, like the girl below say…. it’s HUMOR, HELLO?? MCFLY?? ANY HUMOR IN THERE??
Annnnd they just happened to have a profile shot of the deceased brother sitting around? They just happened, oh so many years ago, to pose the deceased brother with a black drape around his neck(you can clearly see the collar) and decided it was a good idea to have a giant floating head picture around? You know, in case something happened and they’d want to memorialize him at a later date?
And then the surviving brothers said, “Hey, let’s take a pic with dead bro and give our most dazzling smiles. Because that would be so appropriate!”
You can’t just smack images from other posed photographs into another photographer’s/studio’s shot. Copyright issues, after all.
Don’t think so hard. It takes you to scary, nonsensical places.
Way to over-react dude.
That made me laugh.
LMAO!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jenn, Thanks for trying to make some sense out of the awkwardness of this picture! ! think all reasonable explanations should be considered!
Hmmm…….nah, just funny ones.
agreed
Yes….because that is more believable than 2 biker dads?!
Maybe it’s 2 brothers and the little girl is the daughter (grandchild of the intended recipient) of the brother closest to her.
.38 Special songs keep popping into my head. And I find the photo oddly sweet, too.
My sentiments exactly! Good call!
AWKWEIRD!!!!!!!!
It may be me, but I find the whole random-floating-head technique not only awkward, but also fairly disturbing. I mean, why is the head floating? Where is the body? And most importantly, why is the head-floater not good enough to be with everyone else?
Actually I think the picture would be even better if there were a comic book like thought bubble coming from the baby/kid that had “WTF?” in it… LOL!!!
LOL! I agree!
This is probably the only kid in the 70s that didn’t get messed with at school for having two dads.
Hilarious!!!!
Lolz! My thoughts exactly
Or for not having a body
UMMMMMM???????????
Huh? Whaaa? I’m so confused. I really don’t get it. I’m sure there is some meaing to the kid floating in the corner and their chosen attire for this photo. I’m just left confused as an outsider.
this reminds me of “a child called it.”
Why? Because the parents in that story loved their kid enough to include him in family photos?
no, because that’s exactly the pose the kid on the cover is in.
OK, i don’t get it. obviously not a family photo, unless one of those “guys” isn’t telling us everything. where(or how) does the kid fit in? enquiring minds want to know.
While the time period of this photo makes me think they may not be a couple, I don’t think it’s “obviously” not a family photo. 1) The two guys could be related OR 2) Two guys and a kid CAN be a family (ever heard of adoption, surrogacy, child from a previous relationship?)
Hey Linda, just to catch you up since you seem to have missed the last half-century or so: Gay people have families, too. I know, it seems unbelievable but a family with gay people in it is still a family!
Yes, but they’d LOOK more like a family if they were holding the child on their laps instead of having his head float off into space, looking confused. THAT’s the awkward part here. (Okay, and that blond beard could maybe use some shaping……)
Also, so long ago gay couples had a very hard time adopting. If they are gay, and that is their child, he or she must have come from a different relationship.
Awesome Jaime!! Thanks for blowing her ignorance out of the water
This is photography at it’s finest…… Just sayin!!!
The confusion on that little girl’s face makes the picture even better
Wow, I’m not even sure where to even start. I am utterly speechless!
Brilliant! Awkwardness at its finest!
I don’t get it…are they a couple, and that’s their baby’s head floating around? Or are they brothers, and the floating head is a baby picture of one of them?? I’m so confused!
Look, it’s My Two Biker Dads.
Um, is it weird that I think this is kinda cute?
yes!
Nope, I think it’s adorable.
No, I think this is adorable too! I can’t explain it but it just is
