My dear wife decided that this was a good look for her. I didn’t have the heart…or the guts to tell her this look was only sexy in the dark. Thank goodness the look faded by the time our girls were born. The photos still exist. Our now adult girls ask “Mom what were you thinking!?!?”
I still ask my mom: “Why did you think perming a three-year-old was a good idea?” Heh. Well, take it from me – hold onto that picture. I sent this one into the Ellen show, and now it’s all over the internet. *sigh* I just hope it makes a few people smile. Good old 1976, right?

proof the fro never falls far from the fro
I SWEAR this is my old piano teacher. She and her (at the time) adult daughter STILL looked like this.
It’s a hard-knock life for us… No, really.
Look at the mom’s mouth and eyes. She kind of looks like Gwen Stefani with a really bad wig.
I TOTALLY thought the same thing
“They laughed at our glasses.
We laughed at their screams.”
that had the be the funniest comment of all time. that’s exactly what i thought when i saw this picture. i bet she was a pretty teenager though!!!
“Joyce” has a child?
LOL! Shades of Joyce, they should be a musical family.
Mini-She
I sure am glad I wasn’t eating or drinking anything when I read that.
You know you’re talking about me and my mother, right?
Holy crap, that was funny.
Wow! Little orphan Annie grew up an had a child

And the matching glasses crack me up! Do you think we will look silly when people see our current pictures 20 years from now?
The answer to that question is YES.
My mom permed my hair like that when I was 3 or 4 as well. I hated it and tried to wash it out every night and the damn curls kept coming back!
You weren’t alive in the 70s, were you? This was foxy.
This is a reason they no longer make Toni home perms…
Toni! OMG I had completely forgotten about those. They were so horrid!!!
No, no. Toni home perms were pure awesomeness. I could never have made it through the 70s and 80s without them.
How rude.
It’s a new day for ventriloquism.
Like mother like daughter….
They are sitting like that because their ‘fros got tangled up together.
