Is this supposed to be Santa Clause or Dumbledore?
This is so strage – I have the same photo of me aged six with this same old gnome. It was taken in Glasgow around 1957 at one of the large department stores. I thought back then he was a bit strange – what a coincidence
This has to be a Halloween Photo hence the scary santa thingy for bad little children and the kids have to be dressed as scared little bad kids….it’s the only thing I can think of…*shouldershrug*

I am trying to figure out what the white shadow stuff is on the creepy elf/gnome/spawn of Santa’s arm is. I have come up with 2 plausable theories.
1. Shadowy ghostly images of children scared to death by creepy elf/gnome/Spawn of Santa. 2. Crazy X-ray photo showing deformed bones of creepy elf/gnome/Spawn of Santa.
It actually looks like cobwebs.
It reminds me of the instant pictures that my mom would take in the early 60′s. The film came with a fixer that we would spread over the picture to prevent fading. Areas that didn’t get covered sometimes had that overexposed look.
I think it is the souls that the creepy elf/gnome/Spawn of Santa sucked out of the children he saw”when they were sleeping”.

i have an antique russian x-mas post card with an equally creepy looking santa looking in the window at the un-aware kids inside. gnomes, santas, mall easter bunnies all give me the shivers…

Wow what year was this? That’s a creeping looking Santa, though I suppose the face looks a little jolly (kind of like a clown looks jolly but scary!!). Those poor girls looked shell shocked or terrified, but they are sure are beautiful!

That’s not santa, that’s a gnome. He is sitting on a toadstool and wearing gnome boots and a gnome hat. Still creepy nonetheless, but seasonally inappropriate.
