They don’t give trophies to people who take orders.

I love it! Kinda redneck yes, but obviously a huge family high for the males of the bunch – I’m thinking they kicked a** in the BMX motocross. Reminds me of a cross between the Tool Time bunch and that movie that Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell made, where he tricks her into thinking she’s the mom of all his kids. I think it was called Overboard. It would be fun to see a recreation of this one. God bless these folks – I can guarantee Mom took the pic.
Today, people collect scrap metal. Back then people drove it.
Did anyone ever see that episode of ‘The Adventure’s of Pete & Pete’ where they went on the road trip and they were competing with that other family to see who could pile the most crap on top of their car. They ended up winning when they added a trophy to the top of their pile, this photo reminded me of that 🙂
I knew that was West Jordan! I’m pretty sure I used to live not far from there. I don’t know exactly where that is, but it has to be my old neighborhood!!!
Are there two other people from West Jordan on here, how funny. We were the family with 5 kids, and lots of strange purebred dogs on Lobelia drive.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pickup truck-convertible before…
Weeee are the champions, my friend (BWAAAAAAH WAAAAAAHHH)
Man, I so wish that more of the photos (like this one) would come with their back stories. You can tell all involved are having the times of their lives with their trophies. I guess that will have to suffice.
That could so easily be Australia.
Nope. West Jordan, UT. I look at this site weekly and laughed because I TOTALLY recognized the neighborhood. The street behind is where I grew up! I don’t remember that blue blazer rolling around, but my parents might.
Yep, this is West Jordan. Lobelia drive to be exact, this is probably 1992. Amazing you recognized it.
why’s the front passenger window up?
also, what’s the 3rd kid holding – barbies?
Broken window winder, and it looks like a Barbie bride and groom in a stylin silver tux
This is awesome.
My guess is that truck is trophy enough, now they’re just rubbing it in
“oh yeah, eat your hearts out. we got it all, rusty rocker panels and all…”
My guess is Dad didn’t splurge on booster seats either…
I doubt they even made booster seats when this picture was taken. It was only in the past decade or so that children became so fragile to need them.
They won the Mullet Awards in all categories.
I bet those BMX bikes are worth more than the truck.
Probably not, that’s a 1973 Blazer, pretty hard to find nowadays and still pretty desirable (had a full removable top from the factory as opposed to a half-top that the later models had).
And the car geek of the month trophy goes to dijital101.
Dh had a 1976 Chevy Blazer when we first got together. It was orange, with rusted out wheel wells…only his had a roll bar. Top off, 4WD and a thumpin’ stereo system (that was probably worth more than the vehicle at the time) and our love was all we needed! lol We were talking about that truck the other day and how much fun it would be if we still had it…minus the gas price. Don’t be hatin’ on the Blazer 😀 It was the start of something that has lasted almost 20 years!
