OH MY GOSH!! THAT’S ME!! I had submitted this picture like 2 years ago when Awkward Family photos was doing the hot tub time machine movie! Funny it has resurfaced again. Yall I LOVED my big hair!! It was so awesome!! The sad thing is that this picture was my senior picture 1990. I can remember the days of being scared of rain because my hair would wilt and be a hot sticky mess!! Now that it is 2012, I have a straight hair & a new modern look lol!! I keep saying before I’m 40 I will have big hair one more time!!!!
I don’t care what you all say, that hair is GORGEOUS! Twenty years from now all you women are going to wonder why you tried so hard in the 00s and 10s to make your hair lie flat when there was so much more you could have done with it. 80s HAIR FOREVER!!!!!!
This is a shining example of how we ALL wanted our hair to look, back in the day. I never did quite accomplish this tour-de-force, but I did actually have that sweater.
I’m trying to envision the hypergolic reaction that probably occured when the Aquanet combined with the 10-0-6 lotion and the Loves Baby Soft Mist. POOOOOOOF!
I don’t remember 10-0-6 lotion but absolutely rocked Loves Baby Soft perfume!!! God help me, my shaker sweater was Pepto pink. I also wore Anais Anais & Sand and Sable. I’m sure I’d think they were disgusting now!
I can hear “Sister Christian” just by gazing at this young lady’s rockin hair. How about those shoulder pads? You just know she is wearing acid washed jeans.
Ah yes, as a graduate of 1986, I remember this hair well. I, too, would have killed to have hair like this. This is the product of a good spiral perm and lots of aqua net, note the Princess Diana Cover girl cobalt blue eyeliner, the shaker style sweater, I would put this at mid to late 80′s.
Ooooh yeah, me too. Perfect!! I never went quite that big on the sides but I also did not like my hair to touch my temples…..ever. Aaaaah, those were the days. Did you use a lighter to soften up your eyeliner too? Or at least to try looking cool…..
I had those same bangs when I was about 8ish… the side wings not so much, but the long, half crimped ‘mermaid hair’… yep! We even had clear face shields to prevent the hairspray from getting on our faces.
I remember spraying a liberal amount of hairspray on the sides and using a blow dryer to make them stand up like that. After a few hours gravity would always win.

LOL…Omg…this is just how my hair use to look! Had to love the 80s!!!
Whats weird is looking through these pics and seeing someone you reconized from school. That’s exactly how I remembered you. The 90′s were awesome!
Soooo Hot!!! I too graduated in 90 and I have a crush on this pic!

Perfect tag line!
i hope this isn’t her mug shot?! lol
“Hair to the throne”
I had the wings, too. The back of my hairbrush was so thick with hairspray I could peel it off.
‘Twas girls like this that depleted the Ozone layer.
lol!!! I HAD THE WINGS TOO
Sigh, the 80′s were just more fun. Everyone seemed to get along better and everyone seemed more optimistic.
I’d love to have a time machine right now…
I’ll take Queen Amidala thank you.

I would’ve gone to school naked if I could have had hair like this in the 80s. I could just pull off a Molly Ringwald on a good day.
The 80′s were such a carefree time. Really kind of miss that day and age.
You can actually see particles of Aquanet sparkling like a halo above her head. I think that stuff was radioactive.
I know EXACTLY how she did that.
Do I look silly Mom? No, sweetie, you look great
ahhh, the 80′s were so cring worthy…
WOW.
The good news is, she’s a very beautiful gal, so hopefully here in 2012, she has a much more updated look!
Oh no. Now I’m having flashbacks! I can just imagine the parachute pants. Creepy feeling go away now.
I’m trying to envision the hypergolic reaction that probably occured when the Aquanet combined with the 10-0-6 lotion and the Loves Baby Soft Mist. POOOOOOOF!
10-0-6 lotion! Forgot about that! Bonne Belle rocked!
I don’t remember 10-0-6 lotion but absolutely rocked Loves Baby Soft perfume!!! God help me, my shaker sweater was Pepto pink. I also wore Anais Anais & Sand and Sable. I’m sure I’d think they were disgusting now!

best comment ever!

Kat, I love how you just critiqued her like an item on Antiques Roadshow.
I used to have 80′s hair, too. Her “wings” on the side of her head could allow her to fly away and leave her problems behind…..
Puddel
The “Electric Cocker Spaniel Hairdo”
I always refered to this hair style as the “Cocker Spaniel”
.
We called it the Poodle cut.
You know she got tons of compliments back in the day.
I can’t see them, but I *know* she has on acid washed jeans.
And “jazz oxfords” with ankle socks to match her sweater.
Haha, that is exactly what I thought!! High-waisted, pleated, acid washed, skinny ankle jeans with scrunch socks and high tops!!
God I wish I could go back just for a day.
NOPE! Gotta be those white stretchy stirrup pants.
I had those same bangs when I was about 8ish… the side wings not so much, but the long, half crimped ‘mermaid hair’… yep! We even had clear face shields to prevent the hairspray from getting on our faces.
She looks like Robin Sparkes.
At The Mall!!!
Snort! Now all we need is Jessica Glitter!
I was like “What’s wrong with that?” then I remembered the 80′s were a while back.
ha ha ha!
I was fairly young ( 10?11? ) when this hairstyle was in, but I woulda killed for hair this good then lol!
Aw man, I remember spending HOURS trying to force this look to happen for my limp, stick straight hair. A salute to the “satellite dish” and “wings” !
In the 50′s girls had poodle skirts; now in the 80′s the rage was poodle hair.
That’s hilarious – LOL!
It IS poodle-ish! Or kind of cocker spaniel-ish.
funny! good one!
I remember if I had hair like this I thought it was a “good” hair day.
My thoughts exactly! Great hair day!
That’s a whole lotta Aqua Net.
The ‘pouf’ on top, the sprayed out sides, the frizzy perm! Best 80′s hair ever!
Wow, I haven’t thought about the spray or gel to push out the sides (and how they’d get flaky if you brushed them) in a very long time!
I remember spraying a liberal amount of hairspray on the sides and using a blow dryer to make them stand up like that. After a few hours gravity would always win.
