Home is where the heart is… as well as the chairs, fake window, Roman column, and stump.

Not wanting his kids to squander the fortune they will someday inherit as 4th generation Kimberly-Clark trust fund babies, Daniel taught them to invent things from trees. For his part, he invented the wooden potty chairs when the kids were small. As they grew, but were still to small for chairs, he invented the midsize chair and the step ladder. He invented the mullion to put in the windows at Christmas time. Finally, he invented the Greek column and he has plans to invent the living room entertainment center.
I used to work for Olan Mills and these are all standard issue studio props, now why the photographer whould take this pic is beyond me..I am sure the family wanted it, and if the photographers manager saw this they would have some explaining to do as this is not a standard family pose. but trust me some families can come up with some doozies of suggestions to make the photo “fun” when it really just turns out a head scratcher!!
It WAS taken at Olan Mills!
-The severed head on the column
Actually, this WAS taken at Olan Mills!
-The severed head on the column.
I think it’s a scene from Twin Peaks and that is the Log Lady’s husband.
Someone seems to have cut off a head and placed it carefully on the roman column!
Ha ha, its amazing what some photographers think will make a cool or cutting edge photo!
In an attempt to be different they have achieved nothing more than awkward!
keep up the good work
I bet the stump is of the tree he used to make all those seats and windows.
I’m going with the first commenter, I bet they decided to add levity by grabbing props the photographer had laying around. Mom has that “practical joker look” to her. Well played!
just what I was thinking—what a fun family
Actually, that’s exactly what happened! My mom bought this proof as a joke. But we have a completely normal one, too… I think?
-The guy with his head on the column.
It looks like they decided to play with every prop the photographer had.
They must be a wood manufacturing family. So that begs the question: Is the woman in front holding an actual production model or is that just a stool sample?
I see what you did there.
“Chair-ish is the word that I use to describe….”
Best use of boring props I’ve ever seen!
This one is a mystery to me too… there simply has to be a story behind it. Maybe the family’s last name was “Wood”…. maybe he (or she) worked as a carpenter… who knows. But there’s simply got to be some kind of inside joke, or story. It’s less awkward than it is, well… unusual.
I believe the “stump” is actually a drum, or a leather-seated stool. Looks more like a drum. Which makes no sense, but then neither does the window or the column…
Wait… Pops isn’t holding an apple pie prop?!
While the photographer distracted us, his assistant made off with the rest of the house. This is all we saved.
Props to them!
The Literal Family has problems with instructions … someone told them to “take a seat” …
omg thats hilarious!
What the…..? I feel really confused……

I’ll take “things to do with wood” for $100
