Actually, there are some ancient (Inca ? – anyway, or so it was reported, found in Ecuador) sculptures representing humans – or humanoids ? -, whose heads are similarly…decorated.
EXEMPLI GRATIA, for me this is truly awkward, but in an, shall we say, awkward sense, that is rising unanswered – or unaswerable – questions regarding human history, psychology and, ultimately, ontology.
