I was a beauty school student in the mid to late 70s and women really did do that to their hair ! Never seen it on kids tho. You permed it and put them under the dryer with the perm rods still in then used an afro pic on it. I don’t remember it looking good on anyone lol
Looks as if the woman sitting down has some highlights in her hair. I wonder if the stylist put them in with a one inch brush while whispering, “Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap.”
Talk about Retro! I LOVED this one… but probably in good part cuz my hair was pretty similar in the late 70′s- early 80′s. I had a “Fro, & it was reddish too. But mine never was that well formed. I don’t know how they kept it in place. I don’t think it was photoshopped; probably again, cuz I personally REALLY know that it’s possible to have hair that curly. (still do have it; just keep it cut short) And you folks are right; Bob Ross, who was such a neat & loving man… had the exact same hair.
Are those wigs?? come on!!! I almost sprayed my morning coffee out at the screen when I saw this pic! Agree with Carrie–can’t tell the gender of the kids! Lol
