Thank you, school photographers, for always making sure we look our best.

Aw Gretchen, you were a very pretty girl, who cares if you had a little static in the hair.
I am sure it was Lifetouch Photography.
I think it’s really nice to see a whole page (ie all) of positive comments. I think one of my school ID’s would take the cake though……
Aww, she is super cute. I don’t know whether the hair adds or detracts from the cuteness, though…
She looks great! Hair tornado!
This comment made me laugh so hard. Thank you, I needed that!
When I was in the first grade, I was on a real arts and crafts kick. The night before the class picture, I made a “lovely” headband from tissue paper and a bow, which I insisted on wearing it to school. I can’t remember whether my mom made a fuss, but my teacher tried for about 10 minutes to get me to take it off before the photo was taken.
I crack up every time I see that photo of my beaming self in the front row of the class picture, proudly wearing that silly headband.
Please tell me that you have submitted that picture!
Sue, we NEED to see this picture.
Sue, you can’t tease us like that!! Please post that photo!
Lol she’s cute
It’s cute. From a time when 12 year olds looked like 12 year olds.
If this was an 80s photo, the hair may have been intentional. The bigger the swoosh bang the better.
Usually the photographer had those disposable combs on picture day and would use them on kids
This was a huge trend in the late 80′s/early 90′s. We (the teachers) used to call it ‘hen hair’. If moms wouldn’t let the girls tease their bangs at home, they’d do it at school. The higher, the better, finished off with a good long spray of Aqua Net.
Gretchen is adorable. I bet she was really happy with her bangs that day.
It was NJ. It was the 80′s. Good times!
Shes adorable! i love that her hair is just a crazy blast and she is just smiling away! lmao that is just the best! bet you have a lot of fun with her, shes very pretty!! my hair was just crazy as a child… always a rats disaster! blessed mom!
Awww you poor thing! seriously wasn’t there a teacher around to say “Hey let me fix your hair a bit before you get your picture taken” ? I have a shot similiar to this!
A lovely natural photo of a pretty young lady, the hair and the smile are great.
I swear it looks like some science teacher is holding a balloon above her head off camera.
Big bang theory!
Just look at how happy she is, though. That’s a real smile and not one of those fake photo smiles. I’m guessing she was extremely proud of herself for doing her own hair and believed she looked fabulous!
that is hilarious! an attempt at mall bangs with her fingers?
What can you say? She has an electric personality!
PS…with that grin, I bet she pulled some good shenanigans! (Maybe she still is!)
I’m Gretchen’s Mom …. she did not leave the house that way on picture day.
Well, she’s adorable!
That picture was from around 1989
I think she’s very pretty. And who hasn’t had “off” hair days?
(Not her mom) I graduated in ’93. This looks like many of my friends’ school pictures from that time period. My cousin had the best bangs ever. I was always jealous.
She’s so beautiful. Her smile is so genuine and it makes me smile. That was the first thing I saw before I saw her hair. But she’s still beautiful with crazy hair
I love this pic! They used to give out those plastic combs that worked great for ratting your hair!
She’s flippin’ awesome! She loves her look and smiles proudly!
Failed attempt at perm bangs.
