Awkward or not that man is beautiful

  2. T says:

And then they went down to the basement to be guests on Goth Talk with Azrael Abyss.

  3. Eva Marie says:

Looks like a funeral parlor, not a HS prom photo setting!! Ha! I’m in SoCal, and this so looks like my people back then, except us artsy types were not into Prom. Too cool 🙂

  4. Rick says:

    Karma Chameleons

  5. Olivia says:

    I love you.

The year was 1985 and it was my prom at the ever so classy crown plaza near the airport. As I went to an all girls Catholic High School, we did stand out- but it was an amazing night as we ended at a friends house drinking wine coolers;-)
And to top it off the them was Phil Collins ‘One More Night’…
    I miss the 80’s

  7. Amy in TX says:

Their eyes don’t line up–one of them needed to switch his/her bangs so that at least when they were face-to-face they could see each other. LOL.

  8. Stacey says:

    ‘Take on Me’!!!

  9. Neil says:

I wish my 80’s prom was held at a funeral parlor. But really, they are cute as buttons.

    • Jason says:

You nailed it–it’s the Thompson Twins in a Funeral Parlor.

    • mixedmedia says:

“Cute as buttons” nails it! They look so young and sweet. Ah, those were the days…

    • Scout C says:

You do realize, of course, that had you called them “cute as buttons” back in the day when this pic was taken that it would have resulted in slammed bedroom doors, gales of tears, and, “I HATE YOU AND CAN”T WAIT TIL I CAN MOVE OUT OF THIS STUPID HOUSE AND I NEVER HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU EVER AGAIN!”

This actually reminds me a little more of Boy George and the Culture Club..just dark

    i mean yo

  12. Ursula says:

People probably laughed at these two back in the day – some people may still laugh at them – but this style definitely stands the test of time. It is certainly nicer to look at than a prom photo of any couple that was considered “cool” by the majority of their peers back then.

  13. lyndsay says:

these two are seriously cool!! their looks would work today in street fashion in any large stylish city!

  14. Robbie says:

this is really funny. i used to know this guy back then. his name is tarek. haha…lmao

  15. Lisa says:

See, this is why I’m glad my friends didn’t have cameras when I was in high school. If I could have talked my mom into it, I’d have probably shown up at prom like this, too. Goth so isn’t new; it’s just Prince, mutated.

  16. Dara says:

Weren’t these two in the last Twilight movie?

  17. abba21 says:

It’s no use, Duckie. She’ll still go kiss Blaine out by the car.
